### 4/5 — Very excited

*2013-12-09*

Watching my son write letters and getting excited is so great. The app is excellent at teaching him his letters. The profile asks for his name. I wish it had the ability to teach him to write name all at once instead of only one letter at a time. If that happens, it would be 5 stars for sure.

### 4/5 — Awesome app!

*2013-07-28*

My 2 year old loves this app. He asks to play it every day. It's great at helping him recognize and write letters. It even gives positive feedback based on the accuracy of the letters. My son gets really excited when he gets 3 stars. The only issue is the placement of some the buttons at the bottom of the screen that my son accidentally hits sometimes and he has to start over.

### 2/5 — Please improve

*2013-05-03*

We were excited about the graphics, the progress chart (oh my) and the left hand option (now I'm sold)! And then we started using it... The arrows to retry and navigate are on the bottom of the screen which are constantly being hit by tiny palms. This causes mass confusion when she wasn't done with the letter. Or even worse doubt. Especially, when she has mastered the sample and is doing it on her own and the voice says, "Try again" when the retry button is accidentally touched. She looks up at me discouraged. I will say that contrary to the other review, the form wasn't as sensitive as many others we've tried. Please, please rethink the button placement. A number add-on would be great! As well as an option to practice their name (now I'm just getting greedy).

### 3/5 — Fun...but picky

*2013-03-18*

My 4-year old likes this game well enough, but it is awfully picky on some letters including B, C, O...etc...rounded letters. He was having so much trouble with the O that I decided to do it for him because I thought he was doing great...but the game didn't. The game didn't think I was doing so well either. I had to go so slowly carefully following the dotted line. I think I tried 4 times before it allowed me to pass. I think it is great for working on writing skills...just a little picky for my little learners.

### 3/5 — O and Q?

*2013-03-16*

This is a fun game. After a couple of tries our five year old can get most of the letters correct. For some reason no matter how hard we try we can only get one star on O and Q. None of our kids of any age or any adult we know could get more than one star. We took it to the local university and several professors and post grads tried it. No one can get O or Q?

### 2/5 — Strange Formation

*2013-03-16*

I wanted to love this! What a great idea, but the odd letter formation ruins it. I definitely don't want my child writing some of her letters this way. Check out the capital M. I've never seen anything like it. This app has them pick up their finger 4 different times for this one letter. If they fix the strange formation on some of the letters, this would be a great app.

### 1/5 — Didn't work on first letter tried

*2013-03-16*

Downloaded because had great reviews. However, on the first letter I tried it wouldn't accept my key strokes. Deleted app. Very disappointed.

### 2/5 — Odd letter formation

*2013-03-15, version 1.0.1*

This app uses unusual letter formation for some letters such a N, M , W, d, r... Maybe more, I didn't try them all.

### 1/5 — Why?

*2013-03-15*

Why does the child have to stay in the lines or the program keeps erasing the unperfected line and asks try again. My 2 year old drew a good line for the capital A and because his line ended outside the designated space his work was removed and told, one more time, or, try again. Why is it perfection or nothing? These are children! One star for this game. Glad I got free and didn't have to pay for it.

### 1/5 — Not Good

*2013-03-15, version 1.0.1*

I can't believe this is a Montessori endorsed app. The letter w for example should be written in one move - not 4 different strokes as taught in the app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Avoid! Not as advertized!

*2013-10-20*

App does not have flash cards, no cross word.

Only letter tracing mode. Ads are everywhere in this PAID app for KIDS. I have purchase restrictions on, and the app will put up a system warning to turn off restrictions every time. It is run, followed by ads before the app runs. Absolutely horrible.

### 1/5 — Annoying Ads

*2013-09-12*

Bought both versions ABC and 123, often in the middle of using the app, annoying ads will pop up which disrupt children's learning and focus - this completely defeats the purpose of a purchased version.

### 1/5 — So disappointed

*2013-04-20*

This has the potential to be a great app. Unfortunately, there's room for improvement. The sensitivity on being near the lines is too strong. My son struggles with every single letter! I don't recommend this to children who get frustrated easily. My son has autism and I was hoping to help him with his letters. We're going to keep looking for another app because this only frustrated him and made him mad. We'll consider it again in the future if the sensitivity improves. Making the child start over because they barely touch the line, over and over and over again is not my idea of fun.

**Developer response:** Hello! We're really sorry your experience with the app was not what you expected. We have already solved the issues you described and improve the app significantly. By now, we're trying hard to update the content regularly.

### 1/5 — Completely unforgiving

*2013-03-24*

My son is your average 3 and a half year old. Any time he tries to trace the letters he fails because the sensitivity is too high. Ease up. Even as an adult with great finger control, I can have difficulty tracing the letters.

### 1/5 — Do not use

*2013-03-18, version 1.0.1*

This app is awful. It teaches completely wrong letter forming. All letters are written with several strokes instead of one smooth movement.

Very poor

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2013-03-18, version 1.0.1*

Used a pen and finger, but it doesn't recognise when a letter has been done. Sensitivity is hopeless. Condescending voice as well telling child how easy it is!

### 1/5 — It made my 2-year old cry!

*2013-03-16, version 1.0.1*

The app doesn't register strokes. An adult can barely make it work.

Did the developer even test this out with small kids?

### 1/5 — Terrible!

*2013-03-16, version 1.0.1*

What a terrible app. Reinforces poor letter formation! Try abc pocket phonics instead.

### 1/5 — Incorrect letter formation

*2013-03-16*

This app is very badly designed. The letter "d" is completely wrong. It directs kids to start with a line down instead of with the curved line. For "r" kids are told to make a line down and then have to remove the finger and create the second part of the letter. Children need to form letters in a smooth, continuous motion. I will be deleting this immediately.

### 1/5 — Teaches kids to form letters incorrectly

*2013-03-16, version 1.0.1*

This teaches the kids to write letters incorrectly....not a good thing. I've already deleted the app and I refused to let my kids use it!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It good but it turns up the volume really loud

*2024-09-02*

It a really good app for my 6 and 4 year daughters but when you open it turned up the volume really loud and is there any way you can fix the issue please

### 5/5 — Great!

*2014-03-06*

My three year old LOVES the ap and loves getting three stars!

### 5/5 — Great Little Teacher

*2013-05-16*

This is a neat app, one that any parent or teacher should have loaded on their iPad. It makes a game out of learning to write the alphabet. The animations and music are fun and enjoyable and the art is very child oriented. Super app for any future teacher, gives some nice ideas on how to teach them in the classroom!

### 5/5 — Different letter formations

*2013-04-06*

Thanks for fixing the letter formations on this app with the last update! It is great now. The formations actually match the handwriting program that I use as a teacher!!

This app has a great concept, but the letter formations are different than what is taught in the K-6 handwriting program in my district. I deleted it because I don't want my own children or my kindergarten students practicing different strokes than what is being taught.

If the app allowed you to choose from a variety of strokes or handwriting methods, it would be awesome!

### 5/5 — Fun and Educational

*2013-03-13*

This app is so well made it caught me surprised. Most children designed apps are don't even come close to how well this app is made. The primary purpose is to help your child learn how to write letters and enhance their alphabet/words skills. Montessori Worksheets HD solves that problem like no other. The graphics are beautiful and my son genuinely enjoys opening the iPad now just to play this app.

His spelling has gotten better and his handwriting has gotten better tenfold. If you want to put your child ahead of the game, this is the best investment you can make for a lifelong of great handwriting english skills. The sooner your child gets ahead the sooner he'll gain more confidence through school and make even bigger academic leaps.

Grab this app now - your child will thank you for it!

### 5/5 — Very nice app!

*2013-03-13, version 1.0.1*

This app is great for leaning. Very nice. Thanks!

### 5/5 — My daughter loves it!

*2013-03-13*

My daughter already knows how to write her name, but thanks to this app, she's already starting to learn how to write other letters in the alphabet! Graphics are clear and sharp and the pics make it easier for her to learn. I also love all the positive reinforcements that it gives her. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Wonderful educational app for kids!

*2013-03-12, version 1.0.1*

Actually this is a great app with nicely animated letters. It engages and educates little minds as they explore new words with cool characters. I like this tracing letters feature:). App has a very intuitive interface, nice animation and sound.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2014-04-15*

My 4 year old loves this app. She try's really hard to get the 3 stars for doing the letters just like they look

### 4/5 — Very helpful

*2014-03-25*

This is a great way to encourage a struggling writer. I am glad I found this app.
