Used to book taxi in advance to get to station and job not assigned. After waiting a while to check my job was booked, tried to cancel multiple times but it wouldn’t allow it. Avoid this app. Phoned rainbow city taxis instead and got a booking with text confirmation in seconds with a very polite person on the phone. Don’t use this app! ### 1/5 — Terrible service, deleted the app *2022-05-24, version 7.1* I had booked a taxi to take us to a wedding on the app which turned up on time and everything was fine. We then booked a taxi for the way home. When it came to the time we were going home the app had cancelled the taxi. We phoned to ask why and we were told we must have cancelled it and that they have no control of the app. The woman was very rude on the phone and said they had no drivers and when I asked what to do as we were now stranded at a hotel in middle of nowhere she said try someone else and hung up!! ### 1/5 — Don’t Download *2022-04-10, version 7.1* App is useless booked a taxi to pick me up after a night out booked it in plenty of time (12 hrs before hand) to pick us up. Finally arrived at the meet up point with 20 minutes before pick up time after my boyfriend helped me get there after getting my drink spiked, taxi didn’t show up boyfriend phoned them to ask where it was and explained i might of been spiked so will need to get home, rude guy on the phone said they don’t let anyone book for early hour deliveries and hung up, when I have used this app once before and had no issues, they are utterly useless and never recommending this company to anyone. ### 1/5 — Cancelled twice, first time with no explanation *2022-03-22, version 7.1* “A driver will be assigned shortly” then the booking is just cancelled with an aggressive text sent to your phone from a random cell phone number: SORRY NOT AVAILABLE Just don’t waste your time with this app, just either call Rainbow or cross your fingers we’ll see real competition in the taxi market with technological innovation. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2022-03-01* American number results in a validation error ### 1/5 — Map *2021-11-27, version 7.1* Tried booking a taxi to get to work tonight and the map keeps putting me somewhere in England for my pick up and not in Aberdeen. ### 1/5 — Credit Card taxi availability *2021-08-14, version 6.5* Wouldn’t accept credit card details. No taxis available when called. ### 1/5 — App does not work *2021-06-02, version 6.5* Poor app and shoddy service on the phone Had to call back in as they had not set up properly so effectively had to rebook Poor service ### 1/5 — Rude taxi driver and horrible service *2020-12-03, version 6.5* Placed an order for a car for 4 people and did not get a confirmation. Called up the company and lady speaking on the phone was horribly rude. She implied that it had only been 8 minutes since we made our booking and that our driver will be with us in 10. 15 minutes passed by and no confirmation or car yet. At this point, we were already late for work and so we called again. Same lady picked up, same horrible service. After putting down the phone, I received a notification that the taxi has just been dispatched.. it had been 20 minutes at this point. Worst part was the taxi driver. He was the rudest person I’ve ever met. He told us off for not booking for four people when we clearly did so on the app.. he asked us if we had to social distance at our work place, to which we answered yes. He then proceeded to ask us if we are to social distance then why shouldn’t he be allowed to? He insulted us in many ways, talked down to us in a derogatory manner and did not even give us a chance to explain. In the end, we were 10 minutes late to work. All I have to say is, Aberdeen taxi, if you’re not even going to go through the info your customers submit on the app, then don’t bother having an app at all. Also, keep your drivers attitude in check. We didn’t pay to be treated this way. ### 1/5 — Can’t change time for pickup *2019-12-11, version 6.3* Used to be able to change pickup time after selecting your destination and now you can’t. Accidentally booked a taxi that’s coming in 5 minutes when I need it tomorrow! ### 1/5 — Sign up button broken *2019-11-28, version 6.3* ‘Sign up’ button once details are entered does not work on iPhone 8, therefore I cannot use the app ### 1/5 — Can’t log in *2019-11-26* Can’t log in. Entered details and pressed ‘sign up’ and ..... nothing happened :-( ### 1/5 — Can’t even sign up *2019-09-01, version 6.0* The app is useless, don’t waste your time ### 1/5 — App has been deleted as useless *2019-07-18, version 6.0* Used the App to book a taxi to heliport early morning pick up at 5am, no taxi arrived, trying phoning numerous times but no answer, then got text 10 mins after taxi was due to say taxi had been despatched and could track it! When i tracked the taxi it was showing it was waiting at heliport where I was going to!!! Totally unreliable App, it’s better to phone rather than depend on app! ### 1/5 — Totally unreliable *2019-05-10, version 6.0* Used the app to book a taxi to the airport for early morning. App had all my details, name, address, phone number, credit card numbers etc yet they still called me 45mins before pickup time (4:45am) to check I still needed a taxi The whole point of using this app and putting in all my details was to maximise my sleep in the morning Tried using them again for airport back to home, booked a taxi through the app at 23:00 on a Friday evening, 10 mins later I looked back in to the app to see they had cancelled the booking with no notification whatsoever It’s just not good enough, app is now getting deleted ### 1/5 — App needs an update... *2019-03-14, version 5.8* I’ve used earlier version/s of this App and it worked well but cannot get this current release to function at all - whenever I open it up, it crashes almost immediately. Review and update required... ### 1/5 — Pretty useless *2018-05-17, version 4.3* Try to register, but sadly despite waiting for PIN to be send -> resending pin request multiply times, nothing/zip/nada! Can’t use....... ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Avoid if you’re going to P&J Live *2024-08-31, version 7.2* As the title says, avoid if you’re looking to use this for P&J Live in Aberdeen. Otherwise, app works fine and pretty decent UI. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2024-08-14, version 7.2* you have to create an account to set up the app but it wont let you delete your account once you no longer need it! ### 1/5 — App does not accept international phone numbers *2023-09-03* Visitors to Aberdeen, don’t waste your time. For locals only, it appears. ### 1/5 — Pointless *2023-07-02, version 7.2* You’d be as well trying to book a taxi through an app for a supermarket, a game, gym whatever. I’m not for a moment suggesting that would be a reliable way to get a taxi in Aberdeen. It would be more reliable than these jokers though ### 1/5 — Do the taxis actually exist? I think not. *2023-05-14* First, international numbers aren’t accepted for verification, even though the option is provided (US/Canada/+1 dots not work). Second, even if you have a UK/+44 number, it’s impossible to get any response. My first attempt was just 1/2 a mile from the university. The app said 2 minutes to get a ride, but after two minutes I got a sms that no taxis were available. Tried it again up at the bridge and waited 5 minutes with no sms confirmation of anything, so I gave up and took the bus. The app looks pretty, but it’s pretty much useless. ### 1/5 — Buggy software *2023-04-14* Will not accept US phone number ### 1/5 — Does not work for US phone numbers *2023-03-25* During the setup, when asking for a phone number, the app states that an invalid phone number was given even though the area code was correctly set to +1 (United States of America). Check out ComCab app instead. ### 1/5 — USA Phone Number Will Not Work *2023-02-28* As others have said, entering a U.S. phone number returns an error, even after changing the country code. ### 1/5 — Utterly useless *2023-02-20, version 7.1* Typing in legit addresses yet it doesn’t recognise any of them. Waste of time ### 1/5 — Poorly designed, bug-ridden and useless *2022-11-13, version 7.1* Seemed like a good idea in the absence of Uber in Aberdeen…but it’s a poorly designed app of little use. No reg number of car, no real-time location of your ride. You have to enter credit card when adding app but still need to pay after the ride. Tried to pre-book car only to get the ‘too busy’ message before app pretty much died. Ended up calling a cab. ## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Great customer service *2022-12-21, version 7.1* I booked a taxi and everything was going great however my grandparents had booked a taxi so I attempted to cancel and it didn’t work so I emailed and within 1 minute they sorted it. Thanks Amanda I will definitely use again ### 4/5 — Hmm *2015-12-31, version 1.1* Apps a bit dodgy but definitely the best taxi firm in Aberdeen. LOCAL drivers so you feel at ease, they know where to go to get you to your destination without relying on sat nav. ### 3/5 — Sometimes unable to process payment *2017-04-08, version 3.0* Used this a few times this week.
