In in-app chat is to a fake bot that regurgitates stuff already available on the website with no option to to speak to a person. Bank is super hostile to customers, avoid. ### 1/5 — Fraud Detected? *2025-10-05, version 7.40.2* ABSA decided almost 3 months ago that there had been fraudulent activity on my card and they placed a HOLD on my card. I live in Australia and have tried on SO MANY occasions to call the Fraud Dept number to advise that I see no fraud on my monthly statement, but from my cell number the line is so bad that it is impossible to hear their agent. I have always asked that they call me as I have a large Credit balance on my card, but I am still waiting for their call. I have now asked how I can uplift the credit balance so that I can apply for a different card - let’s see if I get a response🥲 ### 1/5 — Annoying UX *2025-09-14, version 7.40.1* This app is super frustrating to use, constantly interrupted by product promos while trying to do something. Also they hide your credit card balance so you can’t see how much you owe. It’s completely rounded loop. ### 1/5 — These people don’t understand how to build mobile apps or even web-based apps *2025-01-16* It’s very hard to do anything useful with this app. As an example, go to savings and try to find out the interest rate of their savings account. When you click show more, it opens a PDF on your mobile phone which you can’t read and doesn’t tell you anything about how much ABSA is willing to pay you for the account. Just because, when it sends me a confirmation number on my cell, when I enter my ABSA pin, it says “wrong pin”. This when I am really careful and slow to enter my pin. ‘Retry’ I can only do 2x, otherwise it blocks me, the owner of my account. I have to, every time this happens, cancel the transaction and do all over again. Only then I am sometimes fortunate that it does accept my pin finally! ### 1/5 — Pathetic app. *2026-02-09, version 7.43.3* Glitching constantly (even after updating it). It’s slow in comparison to FNB, Nedbank and Capitec.
