### 3/5 — Updated useless.

*2026-01-04, version 1.7.5*

Got to the end of 2025 then stopped. Did not move into 2026. No updates into new year…nothing. Where I was movement in car depends on tides. Remote no signal, so could not download new. Really inconvenient and annoying.

### 4/5 — Easy and quick to use, no frills

*2025-09-15, version 1.7.5*

Used for 2 years and good overall. Quick to see tide times and heights and tidal height at a particular time. Use of offsets is confusing, not well explained. Inshore weather forecast doesn't always download the latest info

### 4/5 — 2025 update

*2024-10-16, version 1.7.5*

Have used this app for a number of years but seem to be unable to purchase the 2025 tides. Any suggestions on how to get them.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2024-07-03, version 1.7.5*

Great app, good value, I rely on this app for critical decisions for passage, always works, every time.

### 2/5 — Great simple app!

*2024-04-26, version 1.7.5*

Can’t work out how to contact you so a question - how do I work out when spring/neaps are form the app? Thanks

### 5/5 — This App does exactly what it says on the box

*2024-04-19, version 1.7.5*

I am pleased with the service provided at reasonable cost and will probably be a lifelong user. The best boating £2.99 I have ever spent.

### 5/5 — Thank you for a great app I have used it for sever years

*2024-04-15, version 1.7.5*

I have used this app and enjoyed using it all around the Uk and love it, however it would be very handy if Fleetwood was included or if it is I can’t find it I guess Morecambe bay is considered to be near enough but they are about 10 to 15 minutes different this is not a complaint just a suggestion for another year. I am amazed to see a review from a dissatisfied sailor not expecting to pay £2.99 for the whole of the uk when anything else connected to sailing is very overpriced, for under £3 it’s great value.

### 5/5 — My Navigation Default Setting

*2024-04-02, version 1.7.5*

As an amateur sailor of more than 50 years, this is my most useful navigational aid. Easy to use in sail planning and as a quick reference guide, I never set sail without it.

### 5/5 — River Tyne issue fixed! (March 24)

*2024-03-27, version 1.7.5*

App used to crash when selecting River Tyne. The App developer has now fixed this, making it once again one of the best apps out there. Mighty happy this is now sorted thanks 👍

### 5/5 — Best UK tidal app

*2024-03-24, version 1.7.5*

This app is a must, the tidal streams are a great plus along with the weather forecast

### 5/5 — Great tidal app

*2024-03-03, version 1.7.5*

I’ve tried quite a few other tidal apps and this is the best. Simple, accurate and easy graphics to show tidal data and current streams, perfect.

### 5/5 — Multiple Devices

*2024-01-12, version 1.7.5*

Hello, I love the app I think it is brilliant and extraordinarily straightforward. I installed the app initially on my wife’s tablet using her Google play account. I assessed the program and realised that it was going to be necessary to have on my phone which uses an Apple App Store account. It would seem the purchase is not transferable or shareable, is that right? it’s not a massive amount to pay, but I presume I have to just buy another version for my separate device?

### 5/5 — 2024?

*2023-10-16, version 1.7.5*

Love the app but can’t find a contact number or a way to find out how to see 2024 tide times on the app?

### 5/5 — John R

*2023-05-07, version 1.7.3*

Does what it says on the tin and concise.

### 3/5 — Good, but can’t restore purchases

*2023-04-25, version 1.7.3*

I use it all the time, but lost my phone and could not restore the purchases, had to buy again.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Newcastle Ports mixed up

*2025-05-22, version 1.7.5*

I used this app to plan a beach walk at Newcastle Co Down NI, (listed as a sub port of Belfast). We were almost cut of by the tides as the data was actually for Newcastle upon Tyne.
I reported this serious and dangerous error to the developers but didn’t get a reply and the data is still wrong 6 months later.

### 1/5 — New year

*2025-01-13, version 1.7.5*

I am unable to update the app for 2025.

### 1/5 — Useless for River Tyne Ports

*2024-02-25, version 1.7.5*

I’ve used this app for about 5 years and always thought it brilliant. I come to use this years info and find if I try to use data for any River Tyne based ports the app just totally crashes, and needs re installing. Since most of my activity is in this area totally useless to me now. I can’t find a way of reporting this to the developer!

### 1/5 — App closes immediately

*2024-02-18, version 1.7.3*

I have used this app for several years and found it excellent but on loading the 2024 data it crashes immediately on opening and is now unusable. I'm on iOS 10.3.4 - not recent, I know, but why a new problem now?

### 1/5 — Tyne ports don’t appear

*2024-01-23, version 1.7.5*

Don’t buy this app if you want any Tyne ports. As soon as you click on Tyne the app disappears and has to be reinstalled.
I messaged a number of times to ask if this could be fixed or otherwise be refunded but had no response.
So I’ve paid for something that doesn’t work. Money down the drain.

Use Imray Tides Planner app instead.

### 1/5 — 'Free' only if you pay for it! Ripoff.

*2022-08-22, version 1.7.3*

'In-app purchases'?
Right! But 'only' if you want up-to-date tides!🤣
If you want to know what the 2018 tides were, or 2021?👍 it 'free'.

I've been a qualified skipper for 15 years.
And never, in the whole of that time, have I needed to know the tides from previous year. Ever!

It's another rip-off. Instead of advertising the price you MUST pay if you want up-to-date information - you download the app, agree to T&C's THEN discover that payment is essential- NOT an in-app 'option'.

### 1/5 — App crashes on iPad

*2022-07-16, version 1.7.3*

App crashes every single time on iPad when you click on ‘Streams’

### 1/5 — Not Good

*2022-03-01, version 1.7.2*

Doesn’t work as soon as you tapp it it disappears

### 1/5 — Dead ?

*2022-01-05, version 1.7.2*

Was using this in 2021 but no data after 31/12/2021. Just bought the 2022 update but still nothing !! Broken !!

### 1/5 — Tides

*2021-04-07, version 1.7.0*

Doesn’t have Christchurch harbour so it’s a waste of money for me

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wouldn't be without it, excellent app.

*2026-08-15, version 1.7.8*

This is one app i use all the time. And,with other corrobrative sources of info, rely on heavily. Both pre-trip planning and especially when at sea. Even more specifically, on the French side of the Channel & Channel islands, where tides are more dominant. You can very quickly determine in real-time the options for approaching a coast, and make the best choice. It can save hours of warming up the Planet, punching a foul tide. Would not be without it. Just wish there was a version that covered the full French Brittany & Atlantic coasts, or more, using the French SHOM charts. There is not.

### 5/5 — Perfect for me

*2026-05-28, version 1.7.8*

Our boat lives in the inner basin at Falmouth Marina, accessible for about 7hrs each tide. This App graphically shows me + or - 15 mins when I can leave or return to my berth. Invaluable. As a bonus it shows tides and weather. Of all the Apps on my phone, this is the most useful. Can’t think how it could be improved.

### 5/5 — No hassle app

*2026-01-22, version 1.7.5*

It just works - easy to use and value for money!

### 5/5 — Accurate - 1 improvement please!

*2025-10-28, version 1.7.5*

I have checked this app randomly against information from tide tables for a Solent standard port and it was spot on for height and times. Checked some secondary ports against easytide.admiralty.co.uk and heights were pretty much bang on, and timings if different were by a few minutes. This was a lot better than a couple of other apps some friends had. SUGGESTION: standard ports stand out in the A-Z ports list (they are capitalised) but once selected to show tide times there should be an indication whether we are looking at a Standard or a Secondary port. (The capitalisation is lost and I have not spotted another indicator)

### 5/5 — That’s what it says on the 10th

*2025-09-28, version 1.7.5*

This is a good app. I know some people are reluctant to pay, but why would you not pay for something that is gonna make life easier?

### 5/5 — Really easy to use at sea

*2025-08-05, version 1.7.5*

So racing around the Normandy/CI coast we had the most sophisticated marine navigation equipment at hand. Often this amazing little app being so easy to use in real time is the one we headed for.

### 5/5 — Essential, particularly if single-handed.

*2025-07-05, version 1.7.5*

Outright my favourite tidal stream atlas app for these waters. Whether pre-passage planning, en-rte with an itinetary, or to tell you where you got it wrong if, for instance, you have given yourself the 'tourist special' in Guernsey on Springs. Not only saves time, if you get it right first time. But also gives quick look-ahead, if you are about to get it wrong in 3hrs time. Allowing a change to a more successful plan. Absolutely essential in my opinion. I buy a subscription every year, without hesitation.

### 5/5 — Perfect for the Yachtman

*2025-03-13, version 1.7.5*

Excellent combination of information, weather, tides, display.

### 5/5 — App stopped working

*2025-03-01, version 1.7.5*

Any update / fix on the way?

### 5/5 — The best planning & real time app I’ve tried

*2024-09-07, version 1.7.5*

Absolute Tides is excellent, I’ve been using it for 5 years and have yet to find fault. The background data is the most reliable and provides a great planning resource as well as accurate realtime information. The addition of the Inshore Forecasts has made it a one stop shop for on the spot information. The subscription is very reasonable & the app retains previous purchases for hindcast research. Difficult to fault!
