Then I have been unable to load funds for the past week. Communicated with customer service , got the response the feature ‘LOADING FUNDS’ doesn’t work at the moment and app is under maintenance. What use is it if unable to load funds??? They have NO idea when it will be available. WHAT?!? This is a payment card attached to a bank. YOU CANNOT just respond we don’t know when it’s gonna work! It shouldn’t take weeks to fix this. UNACCEPTABLE ### 1/5 — Can’t sign into app *2023-11-09* Useless. Says I have entered the wrong username/password even though it’s exactly the same one that works on the website. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t log in *2023-10-30* I can’t log in, password and user name is correct because I just reset it again. 0 stars ### 1/5 — Bad conversion rate *2023-10-25* Even it says no fee, they get it from the conversion ratr. The USD conversion rate is 0.6935 per 1 CAD, while the market medium price is 0.7255. A 4.5% difference, what a rip off! Unfortunately, I didn’t read the reviews before becoming involved: The app is beyond horrible. The account is worse. Transferred $$ from my CIBC chequing account a week ago, and the prepaid card still shows a nil balance. Total waste of my time. ### 1/5 — Replaced previous CIBC currency cards *2023-08-08* I got this card since CIBC discontinued the previous cards. I thought at first that this was great as I could use one card instead of several but I am very disappointed. I withdrew cash in Mexico and it charged me a converversion from peso to cad and back to peso. I called in and they said it’s because I didn’t select the right option at the ATM. No problem, if it’s my fault then I’m in the wrong. I followed their instructions and did exactly what they told me the next time I withdrew money and it charged me all the conversions again. I have found it works about as often as it doesn’t work when attempting to use it as a credit card. Meaning I attempt to use it and card isn’t accepted and I need to use my other credit card anyways. Also, when putting money on the card it takes forever. It was instantaneous before with the old cards, however I “bill paid” from my CIBC account to my AC conversion card over a week ago and the funds still haven’t hit the card. Very very disappointed in this card. I will probably cancel it and try to find something else instead. ### 1/5 — Bad interface, realy bad currency conversion rates, *2022-12-08, version 3.0.5* Interface could be more intuitive. Currency conversions rates are stealing. If i convert 1000 from one currency and back i lose 10%!!!! Insane! No more reloads. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Total screwup to the very end! *2024-10-06* Now that the card has finally been discontinued, they have even screwed up the process of refunding of any funds remaining on the card! This card has been a disaster in every possible way. How could CIBC, VISA, and Air Canada have foisted it on us? ### 1/5 — Mauvaise application *2024-04-24* Je ne recommande pas. As soon as I return from Europe it will be cut in little pieces and displayed at my local CIBC branch. This is my second year and after similar experiences last year, was assured the problem were corrected. Not so ! Terrible response time from “customer service”. Shame on you CIBC and Air Canada. ### 1/5 — Poorly designed App *2024-02-17* Starts to load and then hangs. I regret my decision. ### 1/5 — Worst decision by CIBC *2024-01-03* CIBC other prepaid visa’s were a lot better but for some reason they replaced those with this garbage. With the other cards you could load finds on the fly and get access to your money right away. I had a trip planned through Germany and Belgium and I got this card for that reason. The card was shipped quickly, I loaded funds onto the card twice, and both times the funds were transferred within two days. I also used it at probably 15-20 merchants across both countries and never had an issue. Also, the FX conversion rate that I got through this card was much better than what I could have gotten through my regular credit card, ordering foreign cash from the bank, or exchanging funds directly at the airport. I would definitely, and have recommended it to others. ### 3/5 — Lag *2023-09-29* Improve app performance, app is buggy and lags and freezes, then crashes. ### 2/5 — Poor testing of this app CIBC on first impression *2023-09-05* Adding card to payee and using SMS or phone push did not work as I kept getting logged out waiting for it (2 hours and no sms). Gladly the “call me” feature worked immediately. Once added, I did an immediate bill payment/transfer to add C$ funds to the account which should show up instantly I would think given it is a CIBC to CIBC bill payment / transfer (and the app was developed may CIBC), but still waiting for it to show up 2 hour later and no comment after doing it regarding expected wait time. Face recognition at least works. Will update review after the transfer completes. ### 2/5 — Functions are not simplified and user friendly *2022-11-20* Multiple currencies through one card is a great feature, but I would like to see following improvements for my use (which we had before with CIBC smart prepaid cards): - Able to load funds directly and quickly - On the dashboard, I would like to see all balances of my currencies instead of showing transaction history --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
