At least I’d like someone with a reasonable vocabulary and the willingness to complete sentences in chats. I know - maybe snobby - but at least honest. So I tried this one STUPIDLY without reading reviews first. I was snookered, ironically, by the word academic. Since I added, I have received messages, but not a one of them can write clearly and without strangely similar errors (that remind me of my ESL students) in English. I ask a question - hope for more info - and they barely respond. I don’t think they are English speakers. I think they are fakers who play games to keep people paying. And - as if that were not enough - I tried to cancel and they sent me in circles. Go to your profile - click this - but I can’t erase my profile without canceling and there is NO OPTION FOR CANCELING without sending an email. I sent an email and the immediate response was: a response may take a while. That was several days ago. Nothing since then. DO NOT LET THESE CROOKS TAKE YOUR MONEY. **Developer response:** If you want to cancel your Premium Membership, please contact our customer service team making sure you include your registered email address. We accept cancellations by different methods but some terms apply. ### 1/5 — A complete hoax? *2020-08-24, version 6.1* Paid a subscription, made a nice profile. There’s nothing wrong with my looks or qualifications. Yet for all of UK there’s only 20-odd women, mainly older. A handful of nice ones. I contact them, but no response. Nobody has visited my user. It’s not possible to log into the web front end. On the web a lot of complaints and allegations of fraud. I must conclude the providers are preying upon the gullible, and are not delivering. Stay away. **Developer response:** There are several reasons why a partner recommendation might not reply to your contact requests. They may have already found someone, they may have not visited the site recently or unfortunately they may just not be interested. We cannot be sure. We wish you a lot success in future! ### 1/5 — Poor site *2020-05-12, version 5.9* I paid for 3months and been there for weeks I still got no email yet. **Developer response:** Sometimes it might take longer than we expect to get a reply from matches. They charged me a full year although the benefit of being premium will expire in 1 month. The app crashes, you can’t change the location, fake profiles, overcharge... not happy and not worth it. Because this app is doesn’t suit me and not what I want. I don’t want to lost my money anymore. But they keep saying that I need to cancel my membership first. I asked so how to do that? They didn’t response me until now. So terrible app. Don’t try. ### 1/5 — Waste of money and time *2019-08-12* Terrible app. Completely unsuitable matches. Not sure where the academic bit fits in tbh. Nightmare to cancel too. No contact phone number. Customer services email take days to reply if at all. Difficult to cancel as you have to send by fax or scan a signed letter stating you want to cancel. They’re very happy for you to pay and join without signing anything! Premium price too. Furthermore, you will not be able to cancel your subscription. The site request I send a FAX to cancel my profile which was created with a simple click of a button. DO NOT USE THIS SITE! IT IS A SCAM! ### 1/5 — Worst dating site ever! *2019-07-18, version 5.2* Nothing academic about anyone on the site. Despite setting my match criteria I was matched with people out of my region, 30 years old than me and smokers 🤢 Would not recommend to anyone. Thank you Apple for refunding me in full. ### 1/5 — Scam *2019-05-24* On top of being completely useless concerning match making they also do not cancel memberships when asked to and they do not answer to their client service, i got a ticket number from an automated answer and no matter the number of mail sent to them there is no answer forthcoming. Thank you. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst app ever- total scam- do not purchase! *2025-07-30, version 9.3.0* This app claims to be for academics as the point of difference, it is just the same as any other app however many less people given it costs money to join and presents as being specific to an academic population. There were no suitable matches in my area, the age was all pretty much over 60yo and those that weren’t were probably bots! Those who I did match with didn’t write back as they didn’t pay for membership or they couldn’t speak fluent English. The support email communication was ok but kept sending me back to the App Store to cancel and request a refund. Highly disappointed at such a waste of time app. ### 1/5 — Worst dating app ever *2024-06-09, version 8.7.0* What a scam! ### 1/5 — Don’t bother *2024-05-28, version 8.6.0* The only reason I downloaded the app in the first place is because it is advertised as free. Obviously there’s a subscription but without the subscription you cannot do anything. So the app is free to download basically but that just means it’s free to have the app, not to use the app. If you are planning on paying a monthly fee, maybe it’s worth a shot, I have no idea. All I know is that if you expect to be able to use the app for anything without paying, you can’t. ### 1/5 — Mr *2024-04-22, version 8.6.0* There is no option to cancel membership. This is a big red flag and very scammy way tondo business. I noted response from the developer to contact them to solve this, but this still not acceptable. They have zero respect for customers choice to be able to stop membership. This app should be removed from the app store and the developer flagged. ### 1/5 — You took my premium *2024-03-19, version 8.5.0* I paid a premium of $99 for a month subscription, and I do not have access to the site and its complete form. You sent me a standard reply and you do not have an easy way to contact you. You have to search for your email and you don’t have a phone number and you even still use a fax number. The match criteria is so dreadful that I have people from all over the country. Do not download. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2023-09-09* The app doesn’t even let me create an account. Edit: I just tried to contact y’all but it doesn’t work either. The error says “Looks like the server is taking too long to respond. This can be caused by poor connectivity or an error with our servers.
