Hence, after speaking to a candidate, I need to force close the app from iPhone app carousel. Other than that the app functions as expected. Bonus if you can add a ‘set meeting’ button which opens the calendar and pre-fills the candidate name and email and auto matches timezone. ### 2/5 — Look elsewhere *2022-11-18, version 7.0.10* The company doesn’t hold up its end of the bargain nor protect the best interests of its users. I’ve spoken to many past users with complainants of company lies, matching users improperly then leaving them to fend for themselves, and offering “rewards” that it never pays out. ### 4/5 — Love it! I thought getting the app I’d be able to do the course on the go but nope it opens another window. However, there definitely should be thorough checks on the businesses reaching out to apprentices. Some of these “companies” seem sketchy & very homemade. Some businesses don’t look legit at all & we should be able to see mentors credentials before blindingly agreeing to work with them. Some of the mentors just want someone to pick up their slack & exploit because of the free labor. Also, whenever I try to click on my profile through the mobile app, the app just goes blank & I'm forced to start it over and view my profile from the website itself. Also Acadium should give apprentices template messages when we either want to decline certain mentors or introducing ourselves to others. Also please create a space within the platform were apprentices can be social amongst each other & connect to share helpful information. ### 4/5 — Unstable, doesn’t work properly *2021-03-28* I’m updating my review to 4 stars since the last update, the app has significantly improved in functionality and is much more reliable than the older version. But after updating it on my iPad Air 2015 model with has iOS 10.3 running on it. It keeps crashing. This makes me sad, as it was a very useful app where I was learning a lot of DM details. On the first day I have already made a lot of progress with companies. As a college student or someone looking for professional assistance this is the app! More people should know about this! Only downside is that there are some bugs here and there but overall it’s amazing! ### 2/5 — Good concept but not effective for my company *2020-02-19* I was excited when I first signed up for this - it’s a great concept to connect interns with businesses. However, my experience did not turn out to be a positive one . I spent accumulative of probably 5 plus hours contacting interns, responding etc. I contacted several people from my country ( which was what I was looking for ) and pretty much none of them responded - however, I was inundated by lots of interns from all over the world wanting to connect. Maybe for some people it works, but for our company it resulted in no intern and loss of hours spent searching. ### 4/5 — Better than you could imagine *2020-02-06* I actually love the learning connections and the app itself. The reason for the 4 is that sometimes there are bugs in the chat that make it difficult for you and your mentor to connect but otherwise perfect app that delivers more knowledge than any other tool/internship out there. **Developer response:** Hey! Best, The Acadium Team ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Internship mentor *2026-01-30* I matched with a mentor name Olivia Yan and we agreed on a time that would work best for us both to meet. I tried to adhere to her schedule especially and we were scheduled to meet in the next two days for an interview to so she could learn about me and my expense and what I do and so I could learn more about her and this opportunity and see if it would be a good fit. So later in the day the day before our interview she messages me saying “I had another interview with someone else this afternoon and I've decided to work with her. Thank you for your time.” I think that’s very unprofessional and In most job interviews I’ve had they move interviewed all the candidates that made it to the next stage and I didn’t even get a chance to tell her about all the skills I have and the relevant work experience and projects I’ve worked on. I think this is so unfortunate, unprofessional and very unfair. It’s so unacceptable and I hope no other mentors make the same mistake as Olivia. If you watch with her, I suggest not letting her be your mentor. ### 1/5 — Scam AI App *2025-08-25* Do not bother getting this app. They are just trying to get your hopes up and sell your data. It uses AI to find random people from LinkedIn and mislabel their positions at their jobs. It paired me up with a supposed CEO of a company but when I looked them up on LinkedIn they weren’t even a CEO. He just had some middle level position at some company. The AI will also make up companies that do not exist. When I got paired up with this supposed CEO, the app gave me a link to the company website, only to discover that the company website didn’t exist. Please do not waste your time with Acadium. ### 1/5 — Terrible waste of money *2025-03-05, version 7.4.0* Waste of money. Quality of interns is terrible. You will waste your money training them. It would take less time to do the work yourself. ### 1/5 — Not available in India region. *2023-01-02* Not available in India region. ### 1/5 — Scam *2022-12-08, version 7.0.11* This company is an absolute scam. After being “matched” with an apprentice, you are no longer able to get a refund. Even if the apprentice never does any work for you! I’ve been jerked around for 4 months. A waste of my time. I’ve literally paid $500 to be introduced to unqualified interns. I could have done this for free, and paid the intern. Don’t waste your time or money. ### 1/5 — BEWARE: US Businesses face liability and apprentices are taken advantage of in breach of federal law *2022-10-12* Federal Regulations on Working Hours “Apprentices must receive at least the minimum wage specified by the Fair Labor Standards Act for hours they spend working” Only during training periods are employers in the US permitted to pay less than minimum wage to apprentices. This is the difference between most internships and an internship. Businesses on this app are most often based in the US or places with similar laws, meaning they are taking advantage of people that often already have experience and an education while opening themselves up to lawsuits from apprentices that catch wind of it. I’ve been a part of this app for at least a year and a half. They used to make it so that apprenticeships on their site had the options to be paid (though heavily discouraged and every business rejected you). They recently changed this and force you to re-apply as an apprentice and make you agree to working unpaid if you want to use their app to connect with businesses. There are even ‘micro tasks’ apprentices can do to get noticed doing free labor for very specific work. Everyone deserves to be paid, even if it is low, for work that they do. I don’t care if people are willing to work for free, it’s they still deserve to be paid. And businesses HUNDREDS on this app. They’re already paying, and this app is for profit, benefiting from the free labor of people in desperate situations. And this isn’t even an internship - directly violating the law and encouraging businesses to do so is not a good look. Maybe the app is based overseas, maybe they’re free from liability. But the businesses and those behind them are not. ### 1/5 — Business Owners beware. *2020-10-19* Business owners beware. This may be great for apprentices but once you give them your money, the customer service is awful. I was having issues with the platform that I emailed about for the first 2 weeks, took just about that long for someone to answer me. I’ve also emailed and began conversations with numerous apprentices and when you go to schedule an interview, none respond. Not to mention 90% of these candidates have zero qualifications. It’s been such a waste of time trying to schedule an interview, I requested a refund, and they will not give you one. ### 1/5 — Can’t “message all” or any for that matter *2020-06-23, version 4.8.0* Not sure why it won’t let me message anyone? I’ve “starred” about 20 people’s profiles and try the “message all” and nothing happens. Not sure if it’s the app or I’m missing something ? It’s simple and packed with marketing gems to learn from. I do want to know what happened to the old content that was there last year. Thanks to the developers. ### 5/5 — IT’S AMAZING *2020-07-21, version 4.8.0* I started an apprenticeship, still in highschool no business experience at all My Mentor took a chance on me. One of the biggest challenges in my entire life but I am now doing great. My apprenticeship ended and I continue to work with her. We have actually become friends and I am grateful for everything she has done for me. She was even there for personal reasons helping through my problems so I know how to perform at my best in these situations. Gives real lessons, a workshop, apprenticeship, and certifications if you keep with it and do well. The advancement is giving me a chance for some awesome opportunities. Of course things here and there need fine tuning but overall greatful I found this app. The developers literally made something that just may have changed my life forever as opportunity. And it’s super easy to focus on a lesson if your just hangin out or if your busy. No reason why you can’t get the lessons done.
