I don’t understand why they need a separate app for that though. Why do they need three apps instead of one app with all the functions from the three apps. Doesn’t make sense. ### 2/5 — Was crashing *2024-10-05, version 1.5.0* I’ve been trying to update my scale because it was bricked. I have been trying for two weeks. I finally decided to delete the app and reinstall and it worked. ### 4/5 — Works, usability needs help *2023-04-16, version 1.4.2* I was able to update my Lunar, but the issue with the app is lack of instructions on identifying the scale model - it’s the first few digits of the serial number, and they are very small. Make sure to write it down somewhere as it’s looks like a paper sticker. ### 1/5 — Acaia Pearl - Earlier than S *2021-06-06, version 1.3.4* This app appears not to update the software on Pearl models before the S. Not great that Acaia leaves early adapters high and dry. ### 2/5 — Selbes Update nochmal möglich + Verbindungsproblem *2020-09-15* Wer sich auf die durchaus teuren und sehr guten Produkte von Acaia gefreut hat, findet mit der dazugehörigen Acaia Updater-App leider Enttäuschendes. Eine herbe Enttäuschung, um es klar zu sagen. Die App ist klar aufgebaut. Man wählt das gekaufte Produkt und - hurra - ein Firmware-Apdate ist verfügbar. Nur die App findet keinerlei Bluetooth-Verbindung zur Waage. Weder mit Waage neu starten noch mit Handy neu starten, App abschießen, nichts. Der Infotext dazu hilft nicht weiter, weil ich so weit gar nicht kam. Klar, der Bluetooth-Standard bei Apple lässt nur eine auf einmal Verbindung zu. Wer die Acaia-Apps nacheinander nutzen will, hat Pech. Systembedingt. Nur die App abschießen hilft, sich mit der nächsten App zu verbinden. Trotz allem Wissen: keine Verbindung! App gelöscht. Neu installiert. Läuft. Zeigt den Firmwarestand an und den Button „Next“. Wünschenswert ein „Back“-Button. Update läuft vergleichsweise flott. Ärgerlich: Obwohl die Acaia-Update-App den Firmwarestand des Gerätes anzeigen kann, wird das eben installierte Firmware-Update munter NOCHMAL VORGESCHLAGEN und es ist wohl möglich, das selbe Update NOCHMALS aufzuspielen. Warum? Fazit: Wer sich nicht frustrieren lässt, kommt zum Ziel. Aber zur grundsätzlichen Nutzbarkeit der App sind wesentliche Hausaufgaben nicht gemacht. Leider. Hier muss Acaia grundlegend nachbessern. Die Freude an der fantastischeb Acaia Pearl S wird durch die App deutlich getrübt. Download fails. That’s all I can do. No other options. Can’t even cancel once download tries to start. “Cancel” button is not functional. Have to exit the app. How is this app even in the App Store? ### 1/5 — Bricked my Lunar *2025-07-10, version 1.5.2* Attempting to update my lunar failed and bricked it in the process! ### 1/5 — Not user friendly, over designed *2025-01-03* My scale is cycling uncontrollably through modes rendering it nearly useless, so I’m obliged to update it (get that? A scale that needs updating?!?) considering this is taking several minutes (yup!), I have time to write this review. If I had known what I know now, I would never, ever have bought this product. The scale is over designed (not in a good way) and of course way overpriced. The UX is appalling. For instance, you’re supposed to double tap on the left button to turn it off. But the buttons have no feedback and it’s unclear whether the scale recognizes when you tap on one. Furthermore, it confuses the double tap for a long tap, which changes the mode. So now you have to cycle through the other five modes (or however many there are) to get back to the one you want. Do yourself a favor, do not buy this junk. ### 1/5 — Huh? *2024-12-09, version 1.5.0* According to the manual, you can only check battery level with the Acaia app, but there's no indication which of the (all poorly rated) Acaia apps has that feature. This app connects to, and offers to update my expensive Lunar scale, but sits at "updating" 0% with no option to cancel. "i" icon says no firmware available. Huh? Doesn't seem to have a battery level indicator either. ### 1/5 — Crashes? *2024-10-02, version 1.4.9* My scale is bricked because this app crashes whenever I try an update and I’ve been waiting on a fix for a week now. ### 1/5 — Buggy and unusable *2024-09-14, version 1.4.8* App quits when you press update firmware. It took me 30 minutes to figure out that my scale *was* up-to-date. Maybe, I don’t know just say that in the UI? Old eyes and tiny text and having to write down firmware versions to compare between screens. Some of the reviews are about people disliking the scale because it’s too complex. But, like, it’s a commercial scale. Also, that doesn’t really have much to do with the app. The app is great. It does what it says it does with no frills and no nonsense. The best type of app. My only wish is that I could customize the scale using this same app. ### 5/5 — Got all my Acaia devices updated *2025-02-26, version 1.5.1* My Lunar, Pearl, Orbit and Ion Beam connected and got updated. App did what it was supposed to do.
