## What is Acara Health Sync?

Acara Health Sync is the companion app for Acara Plate — an open-source, AI-powered nutrition platform. It securely bridges your Apple Health data to your Plate instance, giving Altani, your AI health coach, real-time access to activity, vitals, glucose, and more for truly personalized meal plans and health insights.

With your real health data, Altani can analyze your activity patterns, monitor glucose trends, understand your sleep quality, and create meal plans that actually fit your lifestyle — not generic recommendations, but plans built around how your body moves, rests, and fuels.

Pair with your Acara Plate instance using a QR code or pairing token. Choose which health data categories to share. Acara Health Sync reads your Apple Health data, encrypts it on your device, and sends it directly to your Plate instance.

150+ Health Data Types across 11 categories:
- Glucose: Blood glucose readings from CGMs and manual entries
- Vitals: Heart rate, HRV, blood pressure, SpO2, respiratory rate
- Body: Weight, BMI, body fat percentage, height
- Activity: Steps, active energy, workouts, cycling, swimming
- Sleep: Sleep stages (REM, Core, Deep), time in bed
- Nutrition: Calories, macros, vitamins, minerals, water intake
- Mobility, Reproductive Health, Hearing, Mindfulness, Medications

Privacy First: Your health data is encrypted on your iPhone before transmission. Data goes directly to your self-hosted Plate instance — no third-party servers.

Background Sync: Once set up, the app works quietly in the background, keeping Altani up to date with your latest health data.
