It seems as though whenever I look through the filtering options to see about the type of dog they name you have it’s always the ones that are not adoptable, or only looking for a partner. Which frustrates me because I spent all this time searching for a pet whom I thought were an option just isn’t even an option. And for the ones with behavior issues please include that as a filtering option…it’s hard to keep track of which dog has an issue ### 2/5 — Upset with visit *2023-12-18, version 2023.10.09* I was very upset today as I felt my inquiries were dismissed without regard to my interests. Maybe the cat I was interested in was not appropriate for my situation but rather than have a pleasant conversation about it, I felt dismissed. I left there feeling irritated and as a result did not find a cat that I could adopt. This is unfair not only to me but to the animals in your care. Please note I would like a small cat that does not require a great deal of medical care as I am in a wheelchair and going to a vet frequently could be problematic. I will of course have them under regular veterinary care. Please treat potential adopters with more sensitivity in the future ### 2/5 — Nice viewing gallery, good luck on actually getting the pet *2021-10-01, version 2.5.1* I think the layout and design of the app is amazing. However what I find frustrating is that frequently pets that are pending adoption are left in the searchable results, and they will be listed as pending adoption for weeks if not longer. If you do actually find a pet of interest, you can apply, but there seems to be an extraordinary long delay, then very limited slots for going to actually view the animal and when you call to inquire, majority of the time even though it says your application is pending, the pet has already been adopted. Except for once when I was told the pet was already adopted, and then randomly out of the blue several months later I get a call that the pat has been in foster care and wondering if I’m interested. In my opinion, you don’t get your hopes high on the app, just try to find time in your schedule during business hours to actually attend one of the shelters ### 2/5 — In Search *2021-08-28, version 2.4.1* Sad for me haven’t been contacted about a dog or a cat. No help ### 4/5 — ACC *2021-05-05, version 2.4.0* They are having a few hiccups but the app is good helping you find your furever pet!! ### 3/5 — I wish there was a way to search by profile name/ID *2021-04-29, version 2.4.0* I follow NYCACC on Instagram. They often share profiles of dogs and cats that are looking for their forever home but I don’t see a way to go directly to the pet’s individual profile in the Browse section on the mobile app. I know there is a Status Search section where you can look up if an ID is still available for adoption but even in that section, there is no way to review the pet’s profile page. A profile search that goes directly to the pet’s profile description would be super helpful. ### 4/5 — Good app, room for improvement *2021-03-17, version 2.3.1* - more filters would be helpful. ie, search by rescue only, search by behavior assessment, search newest, etc. - it would be nice if the app was also combined with the foster website that has dogs available for foster. This way maybe fosters could login and input info about their foster, etc, instead of having like four apps, 2 webpages, and 16 emails to coordinate care for their foster - emergency placements should have their own filter as well - eventually could add merchandise to the app! - could have a donation button for the app! I do like the app, I think it just has room to grow. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Very sad *2025-08-28, version 2025.07.15* They send notifications that they have animals but they don't say that they are no longer available. They do this so that you go to the place excited and then when you are there they tell you that the animal you filled out the application for is no longer available, that you can choose another one... it's very sad that they play with people's feelings. ### 1/5 — Clunky & uninspiring *2024-12-20, version 2024.12.02* My 12 year old nephew can do a better job! Is this another Scam? *2024-07-27, version 2024.07.24* I just saw a picture of a dog on a social media site and as I was looking, I directed to this app. I figured I’d look at it in the app so I could get more details on the needs of the dog that I was interested in finding out about. When I installed the app, I was informed that my payment was accepted. I came back to the app to find out more about how this app works AND what the payment was and how much I was charged. I’m well aware that I could look at my account but I just don’t understand why you would charge people to help the animals find a home. I was looking at a dog that desperately needs a foster home. Now, I don’t even see her anymore. The way you advertise and encourage people to get the app without informing them that they will be charged is a shady way of doing business? I thought you were an animal shelter/advocate? ### 1/5 — Neither browser or app work *2024-02-10, version 2023.10.09* If you apply your search filter and press apply nothing comes up but a loading gray page. That won’t come off, it won’t allow you to go back and even if you close and reopen it will only show the grey page that won’t load anything ### 1/5 — Cannot receive matches *2023-06-09, version 2023.05.15* I will have to give the site 1 star because I am not receiving the matches, I set up the notifications and I’m getting texted with the matches and when I check the inbox, nothing! I was out my first time around because I didn’t pay attention to the name. Banjo is so sweet but he is literally a baby. If your not willing to let him follow you into the shower while u bath(WAX) or even use the toilet it won’t work. He is the definition of a baby he follows u around like a lost puppy and saying it like this makes me wanna cry because he was abandoned so he has separation anxiety and I wish I could have kept him but if you have a house where your neighbors are far away or your home is sound proof he is not for you. He cries when you leave the room. Tedious is was but it was adorable when I sat on the floor for 3 hours watching tv and ever so often he’d pop his head up to make sure I was still there if I wasn’t he’d run to the door or just start barking and if u get up to leave and he can’t follow he barks. ### 5/5 — This app makes me happy 😁🫶 *2023-09-15, version 2023.05.15* This app makes me love life.
