### 1/5 — BUYER BEWARE.

*2019-07-12, version 3.8.2*

As I sit here trying to think up the words to describe this application, they only thing that comes to mind is inept. It simply does not work, it does not deliver what Accela claims. Functionality is non-existent. Good luck. Doing inspections on paper, and keeping an old fashioned file room for your work would be a better idea. My local government paid millions for something that we now have a third party coming on to try to make work. What a disappointment.

### 1/5 — Horrible program in a harder to use format

*2019-04-25, version 3.8.1*

Accela is extremely inefficient. This app is just a harder to use version of a horrible program. If I could give it zero stars I would. Of course it will be sold to the public as wonderful. If we are required to use this it will take me twice as long to do the same work as regular accela, which takes twice as long as old fashioned files.

### 1/5 — Guilford County NC Building Inspector

*2016-12-20, version 3.7.5*

I realize anyone who might read this, probable won't have any input into the purchase and use of this application. If you're like me your IT Dept. or your local government bureaucrats have made this decision for you. And you are stuck using it in the field. It's obvious to me that no one with any practical knowledge of it's use in the field was involved in it's design. There are so many holes in it, I can't begin to list them all. The customer service folks aren't any better than the software, either. The designers and customer service dept. are lost in their own little world behind a computer moniter and keyboard. I tried to get a simple question resolved, and after two weeks of emails back and forth, I got the answer I thought I would from the start. The problem must be with the Admin on my end. (classic cop-out). Forget trying to discuss anything on the phone. Email is all you're gonna get. If I can save one person from having to deal with this mess, it is well worth the time it took to post this. Stay away from this junk, if you're given a choice. I was not, and I have to use it every day on the job.

### 1/5 — Inspector

*2015-07-08, version 3.4.2*

The current upgrade has lost important functionality for our particular use. We were using "Request Comments" to display a project name on our job list because the system cannot display a project name. During the last upgrade "Request Comments" has been removed from the job list leaving the app cumbersome to use by taking away this important piece of useful information on the job list screen. My advice would be that if you are happy with your current version do not upgrade.

### 1/5 — This version is useless

*2013-04-21, version 2.2.5*

This version is useless. It won't let you do anything to actually test the app. Doesn't even tell you how to contact the designer to try to get the Pro version. Waste of my time.

### 1/5 — Don't bother

*2012-11-28, version 2.2.0*

This app has NEVER worked properly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2023-04-18*

Will constantly reboot itself and log you out freeze and have your device slowing down and lagging.

### 1/5 — Code Enforcement Officer

*2022-12-15, version 3.8.5*

This app is horrible. The maps will only open if you have a good signal. The app continually freezes, logs out, looses connection, or crashes

### 1/5 — App is rarely updated, not optimized, and barely works

*2022-02-24, version 3.8.5*

App is seldom updated by the developer. App is not optimized for the various iPhone screen sizes so you see black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Photos and documents do not actually attach to a record. App is clearly neglected by the developers just like Accela’s web based program and it’s customers.

### 1/5 — Makes my day so slow !!

*2021-10-22, version 3.8.5*

This app is the worst app ever in my life !!!! So slow and it will not attach my photos. I wish this company would call me so I can help them out .

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2021-04-20, version 3.8.5*

Horrible app

### 1/5 — No bueno

*2021-03-02, version 3.8.5*

No bueno

### 1/5 — Junk

*2020-10-28, version 3.8.5*

What a bill of no goods. About as good as a plastic knife for cutting prime rib.
👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2020-08-05, version 3.8.4*

The app is a waste of time and money. Find another software...Spend the extra money and buy something better if you are a municipality. App crashes constantly, certain needed functions like maps never work, and a whole bunch of other problems. RUN AWAY!

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2020-04-21, version 3.8.4*

It’s 2020. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus came out in 2014. Yet you still do not support the screen size of an iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, or iPhone 8 Plus. Virtual keyboard keys are extra large and buttons oversized on this device. You push out updates and yet don’t optimize your app. Yeah, there are currently too many iPhone screen sizes but you’ve had 6 years to do the one.

### 1/5 — Worst inspection app EVER!

*2020-04-06, version 3.8.3*

Every update makes this garbage we have dealt with for 10 years worse. We often need to know who failed a previous job , but this latest update no longer lists that. Want to delete an inspection after you resulted it,, well it works , but deletes all the other inspections off the map, requiring a reboot of the app. Just 1 of many issues. spend more time refreshing, restarting, etc. than should be done with field work. Terrible app.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Happy customer

*2019-05-09, version 3.8.1*

We are self hosted, and the Accela Inspector works great for us. No paperwork, everything in done on the app.

### 5/5 — very helpful

*2015-04-04, version 3.3.2*

helpful for daily jobs

### 5/5 — Mechanical inspections

*2013-10-29, version 2.6.0*

Great products works. App is faster than the website. Shows locations on map, makes job easier for routing inspections

### 5/5 — Great app for building, code enforcement inspectors

*2012-12-12, version 2.2.1*

Very good looking and functionality filled app.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!

*2012-08-13, version 2.0.0*

Awesome App...great ui...

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2012-02-01, version 1.0.0*

Finally, an app that allows a municipal inspector to do their job easily and efficiently. Cannot wait for my local municipalities to get a hold of this!

### 2/5 — Added functionary for checklists is good + WARNING

*2019-04-26, version 3.8.1*

This app is still leaps and bounds better than Accela mobile. It’s definitely got its quirks, which is okay if your city’s inspectors are decent with technology, but a lot of ours aren’t.

WARNING TO ALL, YOU CANNOT DOWNLOAD PDF’s IN V3.8.1. Dropping to 2 stars because this is adversely affecting our inspectors. We are in touch with Accela and they are working towards a fix.

### 2/5 — Too many bugs

*2015-08-05, version 3.4.2*

App is very handy when it works. *When it works.*

### 2/5 — Can't record time

*2013-12-04, version 2.6.1*

App is great if you don't need to record time spent on the inspection. We must record the time so that we can bill for the inspection. Not having an "hours spent" field available prevents us from deploying to this app to our users.
