Sometimes you just need to get straight to it and this is it. Pretty sweet and quick; I use other apps (Leo) when I want to do a more in depth examination of a word but to continue reading through an article or story just the the basic definition, common usage and/or gender is enough. Don't get me wrong; there are plenty of notes on a word but not pages upon pages that lead you down another path (which is great if you have time but this is not often the case). I can't believe this isn't one of their priced apps. ### 5/5 — Excellent *2013-12-03* As it says, nouns given with gender and plural, verbs with irregular participles. Also helpfully, entries are laid out in dictionary format, so you can glimpse other words around it that may look similar. You quickly find other related words, or realise why two similar words might have been confusing. 5stars, a total bargain, having fished round 10 other apps this afternoon :-) ### 2/5 — Chief *2012-10-26, version 2.0.1* Very limited vocabulary - not worth it ### 3/5 — It's ok *2012-05-05, version 2.0.1* The dictionary seems ok but it doesn't do landscape mode. This app has everything I need and it's only $1.99. I paid 14.99 for the Collins french dictionary (I'm currently spending a year in France, so I opted for the big name dictionary assuming I would get my money's worth) and although this app isn't quite as good as the Collins, it's very close and considering the price it's a really good purchase. Predictive search, history function, inclusion of related phrases. It's as good as a normal dictionary. (seemed worth writing a review so other's don't have to make a blind purchase as I did) ### 4/5 — Great! I used to have to wait until I got home before I could look up a word because of wifi, but now I can just carry this app around. It is detailed and has genders, adj., verb, noun, etc. LOTS OF ENTRIES! only one beef: The screenshot show there being a phrasebook: It's not there!
