Instead of asking if I want to see “Jane Doe” again, it made me scroll through many, many apartment numbers to get to my mom’s. No way to navigate beyond endless scrolling. To make matters worse, my mom recently changed apartments so now the app asks me if I want to see “Sue Smith”, not “Jane Doe”. I acknowledge the property may need to make apartment change updates, but I’m not going to give you a break on that because you’re the ones creating extra work for the property with this strange update. ### 2/5 — Survey gateway *2025-06-09* This app demands frequent satisfaction surveys be answered during use, getting in the way of checking out from a facility. Think twice before downloading it!🤨 **Developer response:** Hi James! We appreciate your feedback. The satisfaction surveys are a community-specific feature. Depending on where you visit and their survey configuration, once you answer the satisfaction survey you won't be asked again. Thanks for taking the time to rate us! ### 3/5 — Multiple individuals sign in *2024-11-21* The app seems to work well for a single individual to sign in. However, if there is more than one person or a family the app doesn’t allow for that and we have to use the kiosk. ### 3/5 — Needs improvement *2024-10-21* This app works great to check only one person in, but you should be able to check more than one person in at a time. You also should be able to check a resident out with the app . It’s a very minimal app. ### 2/5 — VPN problem *2024-09-25, version 2.5.9* I have to turn my VPN off when I use this. I need the website URL to split the VPN. It’s a pain to use! ### 1/5 — Don’t work *2024-07-09, version 2.5.5* I visit every day and multi times a day. I get kicked out of app a lot and have to send for a pass code. It's not working now saying there’s an update. I can’t find the update or it doesn’t work. My phone is set for AUTO UPDATE ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2024-07-09* At Home page the app states there’s a new version on the app and suggests updating. Ummm no I have the latest version. It saved my name and number but will not do anything else. Nothing!!! Cannot find any option to go farther than the home page. Doesn’t prompt me to answer questions as described in the App Store. I think they need to work a lot more on this app before releasing to the public. Nobody knows anything about a Verification Code. So not being able to use the app(That I Loved Before the Update) it’s a piece of CRAPP. ### 1/5 — Kicked out *2024-05-03* It was lovely when it worked. The update made my app do a spinning signal like a waiting thing and now it wants a Verification Code. Nobody has one. Everybody I’ve talked to said there is no code. So now I’m having to manually sign in. Pitiful. Better rating if you can get mine working again ### 1/5 — Useless: Doesn’t checkin or checkout *2024-04-22* I downloaded the app based on the recommendation of the kiosk at a loved one’s memory care facility. If you have any additional feedback to share, please reach out to communitysupport@accushield.com. ### 1/5 — Was partially functional now not functional at all *2023-10-21, version 2.4* I signed up for this app when my parents moved into assisted-living a year and a half ago. They had the Accu shield kiosk to manually check in visitors at both entrances. The app was supposed to allow check in and check out without manual entry. The app presented a QR code for the kiosk to read. The kiosks were never able to recognize the QR code for entry. I provided this feedback many times, and the facility management could not get shield to do anything about it. I was able to check out using the app. Now the app does nothing. There is no check in or check out function. No QR code. All I can do is see my visit history and edit the profile. Otherwise there is no actual functionality. Besides writing this review, there are no feedback or contact options in the app or the Accu shield website. I reinstalled the app several times now I’m removing it again. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2023-10-13, version 2.4* Used to use it to at least sign out. Now there’s no option to do anything. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst UI ever *2026-06-17, version 2.6.7* I visit a location once a week. My information is always the same. It takes me FOREVER to say, yes, all my information is exactly the same. I have to go through 10 steps just to confirm things one question at a freaking time with a number of seconds to show the next one every single freaking question. Just ask me if anything’s different and give me my freaking badge. ### 1/5 — Completely stopped working *2025-10-10* This app worked well enough until recent updates, after which it doesn’t even turn on. I click on the icon and all I get is a white screen with the Acca shield symbol. At first I thought it was a simple glitch and an update and they would quickly fix it. But then the fixed did the same thing. So I had to remove it all together. Perhaps one day they will fix it ### 1/5 — Not working consistently *2025-09-28* Having to register every time I use the app. It works outside the senior facility to check in, but when inside, and on their network, the app freezes and when it responds I have to register again and then login again. Not sure if it’s related to iOS 26 or not? ### 1/5 — Still awaiting verification code *2025-06-01, version 2.6.2* Just downloaded the app to avoid the occasional bottleneck at the front desk of my mom’s facility. Began app setup and it’s stuck at sending the verification code. That’s a pretty basic function. If you’re going to take more than a few minutes to send the code, your end user will not waste valuable time waiting. I’ll give it one more try another day, but if further delay I will be deleting this app. ### 1/5 — Clumsy and useless *2025-04-13, version 2.6.1* Managed to sign in once. I was sent a text for the app but when I enter my phone number, I get a message that “my account could not be verified” even though my phone # was in the facility’s system. I emailed the customer support but haven’t heard back yet. ### 1/5 — Very unreliable *2024-08-22, version 2.5.8* Only works about 30% of the time. It is now the easiest way for me as a family member or for caregivers to check in when they arrive at the community! I can check in from my car and then I just walk in and scan my QR code! It has always worked great for me before. Not now. Help! Update: I had to delete the app, reinstall, and start over. Now it’s working again. ### 4/5 — Mixed review *2024-02-07* I love that I can sign in relatively quickly when coming to see my family in assisted living. However, I dislike that I can’t edit my profile to remove a facility I no longer visit, and I also dislike that there is a red notification dot on the application tile on my iPhone that won’t go away. The “support” link on App Store doesn’t actually take me to a place where I can ask for help with these issues.
