### 2/5 — Could be a lot better

*2026-06-16, version 1.1.0*

I have not ridden a train yet, and I decided to get this app to look at schedules and possibly buy tickets. Unfortunately, the app does not work very well with VoiceOver. I can see text elements that VoiceOver is unable to navigate to. I’m also very surprised not to see any train schedules in the app. I have to enter a destination, but I just want to look at the schedules.

### 2/5 — Lot improvement needed

*2026-04-22, version 1.0*

Yes

### 2/5 — New UI is suck

*2025-12-04, version 1.0*

The older app has better UI. The new UI, it is hard to navigate and find the path that only dedicate for ACE train and its shuttle. If this app is for ACE, then it should be dedicate to ACE route and shuttle route… not include bunch of othet public transportations.

### 2/5 — New app leaves much to be desired

*2025-11-08, version 1.0*

Why no train status or time tables? It’s literally just a place to buy tickets.

### 2/5 — No live train status or travel history

*2025-10-22, version 1.0*

This app is good for two things and two things only: purchasing tickets and activating them. The trip planning feature is meh. There’s many other better trip planning apps for transit use, and so I don’t see myself ever using this feature. My main critique of this app, as many others have noted, is the absence of the live train status tracker that was on the previous app. I am not talking about the live time tables at stations. I am talking about the map that shows in real-time where the trains actually are, including on the tracks between stations. I don’t just want to know what time my train will get to my station—I want to know where the train is now. For this reason, I have still kept the old app downloaded on my phone. Finally, ACE has said this app makes it easier to view travel history, but I haven’t found that to be the case. It is easier to look up *purchase* history, but when they said travel history I am thinking of a log of each trip/ticket activation. For example, I bought a 20 trip pass. I want to be able to view when I activated each of those 20 trips. If this is possible in the app, it is not very intuitive, and I would like to see this feature added or enhanced. I love riding ACE and was looking forward to the new app, but unfortunately this app has been extremely disappointing. It feels as though it was released too soon and like they didn’t take actual riders’ experiences and opinions into consideration.

### 2/5 — Old app was fine

*2025-10-17, version 1.0*

Not sure why they had to create a new app that forced users to create a new account. Maybe they found a cheaper app developer? If so, it shows. The most helpful feature was the live train status.

And is the planner really necessary? Google Maps can do that. It doesn’t work anyway - I plugged in Pleasanton to Tracy, made sure departure time was during service hours, and nothing showed up. A timetable would be more helpful. There should also be a timetable for connecting buses.

### 2/5 — Free Ticket for 1st Ride

*2025-09-28, version 1.0*

I could not figure out how to redeem a free ticket for the 1st two rides - it was advertised everywhere, but had no instructions and the app doesn’t guide properly.

### 1/5 — App fail

*2025-09-16, version 1.0*

No train status. No train schedule. Both were in old app. I’m not sure what was the point at all. As a user it’s a fail.

### 1/5 — If you don’t know how to build basic app, don’t build and release app

*2025-09-11, version 1.0*

No payment accepted for Visa debit (work commute benefit card which was working flawlessly in old app)
No train status

### 2/5 — Apple pay fails consistently

*2025-09-05, version 1.0*

Apple pay fails consistently with the message that payment is declined. I had to enter card information manually

### 1/5 — App is nonsense

*2025-09-04*

Get your money back ACE! You aren’t a nationwide commuter train. You have specific stops! This app should be simplistic like it was! Train status with #’s, bus connections (?) and tickets is pretty much all you need! A lot of space taken up on our mobile devices for nonsense.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App confusing and annoying

*2026-02-10, version 1.0*

I cannot find the information I am looking for - which is when is the next train and is it on time. Seemingly the most important information when buying a ticket

### 1/5 — Needs to Simplify

*2025-12-10, version 1.0*

With this new app I can’t easily see the train timetable so I have no idea when the trains are going to arrive. Instead, it’s clogged up with a bunch of bus stations and other transit. I can’t see the live train status with upcoming arrival times. This makes it 100% more difficult to use. I have signed up to get alerts via text instead, but this means I get alerts on days I am not commuting. I think it is easier to juggle multiple tickets if you are traveling as a group, but it has made my day to day experience much more difficult.

### 1/5 — Error on ticket ourchase

*2025-11-19, version 1.0*

Cant purchase ticket on ios

### 1/5 — App is nonsense

*2025-10-24, version 1.0*

Update. Ticket activation FAIL! Dump this app and go back with the old one.

I want to se the review that is making this app rating 4.5 out of 5!!!

### 1/5 — No live train data, no schedules

*2025-10-07, version 1.0*

The title says it all

### 1/5 — App is bad, previous app version was better.

*2025-10-06, version 1.0*

Tracking of train boot their in new app. Harder to find departure info for desired station.
Should have the ability to have a memorized itinerary, so it’s easier to buy a ticket, since many people always buy the same departure point and destination, location.

### 1/5 — Who is rating it more than 1 star?

*2025-10-03, version 1.0*

This new App is a total trash. No easy way to track trains. Activating ticket doesn’t work. Plan trip option is useless

### 1/5 — Navigation and maps

*2025-09-24, version 1.0*

The maps and navigation aren’t ready. Still using the old app to get the live updates of the train

### 1/5 — New app is terrible

*2025-09-18, version 1.0*

Whoever approved release of the new app should be fired. The old app had multiple useful features. The “plan your trip” feature easily showed all the departure/arrival times between stations. The link to the train status map was invaluable. Now the “plan your trip” takes you to some map and displays all kinds of useless information, leaving out the most important information of when the freakin’ train leaves and arrives. There is no longer a train status. Did anyone even try using the app before it was released??

### 1/5 — Really?

*2025-09-17, version 1.0*

As others have stated - the train tracking section was the most useful part of the old app. This new “plan trip” is very un-user friendly. It’s extremely difficult for me to go in quickly and see the status of the trains. Further, it doesn’t even show an accurate status of trains or says “live tracking not available” really?! I don’t care about all the other public transportation options, let other apps focus on that. You all should be focusing on ACE alone. 👎🏼

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Suzi

*2026-08-13, version 1.1.0*

Love ACE & the Crew! Reliable, Clean, Safe & Amazing service. Thank you all for all you do.

### 5/5 — The most convenient way to travel to the Bay Area

*2026-07-20, version 1.1.0*

I have quarterly appointments at Stanford to follow up on my medical procedure and travelling with Ace is so convenient that makes me wish they have regular service between Stockton and Diridon… I love watching the vehicles stuck in slow moving commute both east and west direction from the comfort of my seat… No stress and do not have to worry about parking…. It also gives me the opportunity to flex my legs and help me with my required exercise… I have shared and taught a lot of friends to take advantage of this way of travel… more trains please😊thank you ACE

### 5/5 — Comfort and safety

*2026-06-16, version 1.1.0*

Clean, comfortable and safe trains, grade 10!

### 5/5 — ACE for the Win

*2026-06-11, version 1.1.0*

I ride occasionally for my seasonal employment in the Tri-Valley. It has changed my commute experience! The trains are clean and on time. Customer service is efficient, friendly and helpful. Left my raincoat on the train, and they helped me retrieve it. Just wish there were more trains - weekend would be helpful. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — stealing

*2025-11-07, version 1.0*

it’s good to see that you maintain order on the train and that you don’t let people ride for free or we’d all pay for people who do steal. I am a monthly paper ticket purchaser through my work and it’s also stealing whenever once in a long while I forget my monthly pass and you make me buy another ticket so in fact, I’m paying you twice. That is also stealing.

### 5/5 — Great Train, Great People with Great App

*2025-10-15, version 1.0*

I love coming to work on ACE. New App had some vendor update issue resulting into for me unable to purchase ticket but was able to purchase interim paper tickets. App is fully functional and I am able to get the ticket and able to write this review.

Train conductors have been very helpful during this transition of updated ACE App!

### 3/5 — Update for quick access

*2026-06-26, version 1.1.0*

Please update the app to show active tickets from the home / locked screen and through the Dynamic Island. Using train passes on other rail systems, such as Metro North, is much more user friendly

### 3/5 — New ACE app missing live train tracking

*2026-05-13, version 1.0*

New ACE app is missing the live train tracking status which was a good feature in the previous version .

### 3/5 — Good not Great - Needs Improved Train Tracking

*2026-05-13, version 1.0*

The new app and ticketing system IS better than the previous. BUT the tracking of the trains is not. The previous app would link to the status webpage whereas this app does not have that link. It contains a new status tracker that is not as accurate. That’s unfortunate because I like the look and feel of the new train tracker but I’ve seen it’s inconsistent with the previous web based page.

### 3/5 — Train location

*2025-09-02, version 1.0*

Where is the live map of the trains location?
