### 2/5 — Why do I need an AI assistant for an Ace hardware app?

*2026-05-30, version 3.18.4*

Work on bettering the search function and scanner. No one is using Arma, and why would they?

### 2/5 — No notifications

*2025-12-12, version 3.17.9*

Notifications are not coming through even though they are turned on in the app and on my phone

### 3/5 — Helpful but needs work

*2025-08-21, version 3.17.5*

App is great & very helpful but when searching for items its takes around 30 seconds to load information on product. As well when on deliveries where you have the option to take a picture of product being delivered the app crashes, restarts app & does not process the picture that was taken. Making the person on the delivery sign for delivery & that shouldnt be the case. Needs improvement ASAP

### 2/5 — Needs Work

*2025-08-04, version 3.17.5*

Terrible search engine. The number of search results increases as you add keywords instead of becoming more specific.
Acenet needs a terminal screen popup to notify employees when an online order is awaiting fulfillment.
This app and acenet should show current promotional prices in the customer price.
Stores should be able to check availability at all nearby stores.

### 3/5 — Scanning UPCs

*2025-07-11, version 3.17.3*

The very first version scanned UPCs like a champ. Current version however, the scanning screen is half filled at the top solid green, and will not scan unless the UPC is, near the bottom or off the screen entirely at the bottom.

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-07-10, version 3.17.3*

New update makes it unusable. Camera doesn’t even scan barcodes anymore

### 2/5 — Y’all broke the app with the update

*2025-07-09, version 3.17.3*

I’ve never wanted to break something more. My phone that is, after this new update. The scanner will not allow my camera to focus, causing the utmost frustration. I also have half of my screen greened-out when trying to scan. This app is not making my work life easier. Where did item history go too??? Did you guys test this before you rolled it out? I expect better from our Ace technology team. Sincerely, a Whitmore Employee.

### 2/5 — Photo’s not working

*2025-07-02, version 3.17.1*

When completing a delivery and using the photo option the app shuts down after hitting accept photo.

### 2/5 — Recent update upc/sku scan.

*2025-06-28, version 3.17.1*

The recent update Messed with my camera for scanning UPC and SKU, it use to default to my micro close up camera lens I could scan barcodes quick and nice but the recent update made it so that it uses my normal or 2x zoom and when I try to scan a barcode on a shelf or sheet I have to scan multiple times for it to get the one I want because it is scanning everything in a 4 foot radius. It worked previously but broke with the update I don’t mean this in a rude way just want how it worked before now.

### 2/5 — Poorly designed and shoddy

*2025-06-28, version 3.17.1*

Not much thought has gone into the design of this app so it’s a source of a lot of frustration and wasted time. Time is money and productivity matters for small businesses, which every Ace is, so it’s really a disgrace.

The recent graphical skin update added a working barcode scanner, which is a plus, but they also decided to hide sales and receiving history behind menus, which is actually the main use for the app day-to-day, so overall it went from bad to worse.

Also on iOS scrolling down on the app doesn’t function right, which is some kind of accomplishment. One step forward, two steps back.

### 1/5 — Camera focus…

*2025-06-26, version 3.17.1*

…terrible. Please change it back to how it was. Effortlessly able to scan labels prior to this latest update. Now it takes 5 to 10 seconds to capture a bar code while before it was instantaneously.

### 4/5 — love using it to help customers, barcodes won’t scan

*2025-06-25, version 3.17.1*

the UI before the 6/24 update was perfect. i could easily see all the relevant info for an item as it looked extremely similar to the actual acenet.com listing. i don’t really have any big complaints for how it looks now, but the biggest downside is that the barcode scanning doesn’t work at all now. might just be a bug that needs to be fixed.

### 1/5 — Register option?

*2025-06-07, version 3.16.73*

There no way to open new account. Just login

### 1/5 — Don’t work

*2025-04-17, version 3.16.73*

When searching for something the app crashed and need to login again and is little annoying when you’re with a customer and the app crashes when you search for something to see if we have in stock

### 3/5 — It needs an update urgently

*2024-11-08, version 3.16.70*

Ace Retailer Mobile Assistant App needs to be updated so It can work with the iOS 18 operating system and with the new iPhone 16 Pro.

### 3/5 — Wonky

*2024-05-17, version 3.16.63*

It’s wonky to use and I hate it because now all my friends ask me for save sell this does ace have that I hate my job but I like money sooooooo I’m stuck

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — A formerly helpful app

*2026-03-26, version 3.17.14*

An app I used to use daily, that was the most helpful asset at work has become a vehicle for data collection and more slop from the slop machine. It is a disgrace that corporate has forced this on us. I will never use this again, as long as “arma” is a part of it.

### 1/5 — Forced AI learning acceptance

*2026-03-11, version 3.17.14*

Forced into accepting ai learning off of your behavior. Deleted the app.

### 1/5 — Hey ARMA more like Hey, No

*2026-02-26, version 3.17.12*

I used to have this installed on my personal phone because it was convenient, but with the addition of Hey ARMA and the new terms of service requiring consent to feed into a generative database I will no longer be using it.

Not to mention, the newest app versions no longer function properly on older versions of Android, to where you can’t even type into the search bar.

Decent idea for people who have trouble pinpointing their product searches, bad execution with yet another genAI data collection requirement. 😒

### 1/5 — Nonstop

*2025-11-15, version 3.17.9*

Issues

### 1/5 — Search from home screen

*2025-08-26, version 3.17.5*

When you start a search it defaults to alpha entry and it used to start in numerical. It also showed a 10 key keypad to make entering a SKU easy. It is no longer easy to enter a SKU especially if you’re an iPhone user. iPhones native keyboard does not have numbers on it! So an iPhone user has to switch screens to the number/symbol screen. I’m one iPhone user who is not happy with the changes you have made to this app!!!

### 1/5 — Very slow app

*2025-08-05, version 3.17.5*

The app gets slower each update and the camera use has gotten better but still glitchy and slow

### 1/5 — Getting Worse

*2025-08-05, version 3.17.5*

The flash sale did not work at all for me. So I missed every deal. The camera for scanning is trash.

### 1/5 — Update Ruined the App

*2025-07-23, version 3.17.3*

App is now slow and unresponsive at times.

### 1/5 — Why change the camera?

*2025-07-18, version 3.17.3*

I only use this app to scan codes for information and now I cannot scan anything because my camera refuses to focus. I have the newest iPhone and in 2025 I cannot scan something 6 inches away. Your apps optimization is horrible and whoever pushed for these changes should be fired.

### 1/5 — Scanning feature is worse than it used to be

*2025-07-10, version 3.17.3*

The new app fails at some things. The worse is the scanning feature. As now it’s easier to just type in the whole upc. Which negates a major feature of this app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Really HELPFULL

*2026-02-19, version 3.17.12*

Really good app

### 5/5 — My personal experience

*2025-07-25, version 3.17.3*

It’s awesome but only current issue I’m seeing is that when I scan an item there is a green rectangle covering about half the camera and I cannot zoom in or out and it’s all blurring the screen when I try and get close to the item barcode but if I’m too far and cannot read it.

### 5/5 — In Comparison - It’s All Relative!

*2025-04-24, version 3.16.73*

The fact this has less than a 4+ rating to me is baffling. When you compare Ace to any other brand in this same industry, they are hands down leading the competition. Could it be a little better, sure! Is it light years ahead of True Value, DIB, EJD, Orgill or any other supplier in the independent hardware chain, Absolutely! Well Done Ace, we just moved here from 30+ years with another supplier and these guys have provided a product that makes you significantly more efficient within your store and also helps the customer experience. Focused on technology in 2025, what a novel thought!

### 5/5 — Works great

*2022-08-10, version 3.16.36*

Easy tool. Easy to use.

### 5/5 — Samir

*2022-05-26, version 3.16.33*

Sapna the Training cashier was very supportive.
She was keen to ensure my profile in the system is accurate. In order to take advantage of the APP offers & Blue Rewards.
Pls extend my gratitude to Sapna.

### 5/5 — Little slow but super useful

*2020-10-21, version 3.11.06*

As an assistant manager at my store, having access to online orders, Acenet, and RSC tracking is one place makes my job so much easier.

### 5/5 — Wow!! Now this is helpful!

*2020-02-19*

Finally a way to see and respond to my customers online orders immediately!!!

The delivery routing is also very helpful! I can’t wait to deliver the next Big Green Egg to a happy customer! They will think the signature on the phone is so “cool”.

### 5/5 — Make life easier

*2019-05-09, version 3.5.10*

Love this app. Makes my job and helping customers much easier. Could be a little faster but, I’m just glad we have a tool like this available through ACE

### 5/5 — Must have after a conversion

*2019-02-02*

The most useful tool I have after our conversion from True Value to Ace. Search engine could use a little better filter (like by fineline) but it’s good enough to get you close. What I love is that our Epicor communicates every night with Ace’s system and give you QOH, Loc, and cost. This is very useful to us after we converted and remodeled to help us get closer to our product that we KNOW we have, but are having difficulty locating. It’s a great benefit also when checking prices or doing a quick rain check order for your customer so that you can’t forget later. Love this app.

### 4/5 — Pictures, maps

*2026-05-22, version 3.18.4*

Let us take pictures, even if the cell service is not the best and have it stored so when we get back to the store or a better service connection, the phone will update the photos

Allow us to choose our preferred map. If we’re on a iPhone, don’t force us to use Apple Maps allow us to use Google maps allow us to choose.
