## What is Achira?

Take the long way home.

Need a quick walk? Point the compass at the nearest konbini or coffee spot. Have a little more time? Mix up a suggested detour, stop at a café and a quiet shrine, or add a pitstop on the way to a station.

FOLLOW. WALK. STAMP.
Choose a destination, follow the bearing and press a tactile Riso-style illustrated stamp when you arrive. The compass gives direction, not turn-by-turn navigation. Distance and time estimates are approximate; choose a safe, public way there.

YOUR POCKET STAMP BOOK
Keep recorded days in Logroll, replay a day's Journey and export a recap. Field Guide starts with Your Footprint: the neighbourhoods and prefectures you have visited. Save a favourite spot for another day.

EVERYDAY PLACES STAY FREE
Konbini, supermarkets, nearby Tokyo-area stations and saved places stay free. Your first five standalone curated stamps are free, plus three curated detours with a separate local allowance. A detour uses one allowance at its first successful curated stamp; all original stops stay included after restarting, without using standalone stamps. Browsing, shuffling, starting and cancelling before that stamp are free. Successful new standalone curated stamps use the stamp allowance; repeats and failed saves do not. Collected stamps stay in your book.

GO FURTHER WITH ACHIRA PRO
Explore unlimited curated cafés, shrines, sento, independent shops and sights, and curated detours. Pro includes chain filters, nearby nudges and Apple Watch support on iOS. See current prices and any trial in the app.

MADE FOR WALKING, EVEN OFFLINE
The place catalogue travels with you. No account, sign-in or ads. Saved Home and Hotel coordinates stay on your device. Validation analytics exclude raw GPS and saved labels, and follow your analytics settings.

One more corner. One more stamp. A little more Japan in your book.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7.0 — 2026-10-26

New in 1.7

• More ways to walk: Explore nearby with suggested outings of 1–5 stops, find a particular type of place, or head towards a destination with discoveries along the way. Add or remove stops and shuffle suggestions before you start.
• A simpler Home screen puts your walking choices together, with a shortcut to save where you’re standing. Track your current stop, skip ahead and resume an interrupted walk.
• Find your destination: search Tokyo-area stations offline, search other places and areas online, and discover curated recommendations nearby. Walk towards a station or a saved favourite.
• New illustrated place and activity stamps: press your impressions when you arrive, then revisit the saved artwork in your journal. Clearer lettering and improved arrival handling keep your stamps readable and available while saving.
• Revisit your days: open a day’s Journey from Logroll to replay and share it. Your Footprint in the Field Guide shows the neighbourhoods and prefectures you’ve visited.
• More places: 3,888 convenience-store listings added and 977 existing listings marked closed. The refreshed catalogue includes 57,970 active convenience stores across Japan.
• More to try free: five standalone curated stamps plus three curated detours, with separate allowances stored on your device. A detour uses one allowance at its first successful curated stamp; its original stops stay included after restarting without using standalone stamps. Browsing, shuffling and cancelling before that stamp use no allowance. New standalone curated stamps use the stamp allowance; repeats and failed saves do not. Collected stamps stay in your book.
• Expanded Achira Pro: all curated places and guides, detours, brand filters, nearby nudges and Apple Watch support. Supermarkets join konbini, nearby Tokyo-area stations and saved places as free destinations. Try brand filters until your fifth successful manual place stamp.
• Cleaner controls, improved layouts for larger text and smaller screens, swipe-to-delete saved places, and fixes for saving and walk recovery.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-10-12

Version 1.6.0.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-09-29

Version 1.5.0.

• Recommended places — hundreds of hand-picked local spots across Japan: cafés, bars, food, shops and sights. With Achira Pro, browse them by type in the Field Guide or follow the Recommendations compass face.
• Nearby alerts — a quiet nudge when you pass a saved or unstamped place, and linger somewhere to stamp it without opening the app (Achira Pro). A day of auto-stamps folds into one strip in your Logroll.
• Your journey, in colour — each ward prints in its own riso ink, and the recap chops the main places so the route stays readable.
• Japanese that prints — share cards and the journey recap render kana and kanji properly.
• Fixes — sheets such as the Compass Library and Settings now open reliably.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-07-26

Version 1.4.0 — now live.

• Share the stamp — the moment a chop lands, it's one tap from a story-sized card. Paper grain, halftone, the place's own wordmark in chain ink.
• Any page of your book — reach the share from any stamp in the roll, not only the fresh one.
• Japan, printed — your stamps replay in order along a riso line across the country, a chop popping at each place. Your year, animated.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-07

Version 1.3.0 — now live.

• Collect onto the Logbook — every badge, seal and chop now prints inline, beside the visit that earned it.
• Title & streak — stamped at the top of the roll.
• A quieter Field Guide — your latest awards at a glance; tap any to see more of its kind.
• Chain loyalty, new — keep returning to the same chain and a run builds: 5 in a row, 10, 25. Your neighbourhood allegiance, stamped.
