## What is ACLSMED CPR?

Put the phone under your hands. Press START. Do CPR on a manikin — and see exactly how you're doing.

ACLSMED CPR turns an iPhone into a chest-compression training sensor — on its own, or paired with ACLSMED Sim on iPad for the full classroom experience. The phone lies flat on the manikin's sternum, your hands go on top of it, and the motion sensors measure every compression in real time.

***FOR TRAINING ONLY — MEDICAL DISCLAIMER***
For education and simulation on a manikin only. Not for use on a real patient. ACLSMED CPR is a training aid, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a doctor or other qualified health provider in addition to using this app, and before making any medical decisions. In a real emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.

HOW IT WORKS
  • Place the phone flat on the manikin's chest, hands on top, start compressions
  • A 110-per-minute metronome keeps your rhythm — the one cue that reaches you while your hands are on the phone
  • Stop and get a debrief: quality score, compression count, rate, depth zone, and hands-on time

WHAT IT MEASURES
  • COMPRESSION RATE — against the 100–120 per minute training target
  • COMPRESSION DEPTH — shown as honest red/amber/green zones
  • CHEST COMPRESSION FRACTION — the share of time your hands stay on the chest
  • An overall 0–100 quality score computed from the session's rolling averages

BUILT FOR THE ACLSMED SIM ROOM
Pair automatically with ACLSMED Sim on iPad (separate app):
  • Your live red-to-green quality bar appears on the patient monitor — where the room is already looking
  • Real compressions drive the monitor's ECG artefact and vitals, and your hands-on fraction lands in the code debrief
  • CPR SIMULATOR mode: up to six phones at once in a two-minute timed test, with ring-gauge results and a class leaderboard on
the shared iPad — and each student's grade delivered to their own phone
  • Connects over your local network, and falls back to direct device-to-device Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when there's no router

WORKS ON ITS OWN
No iPad? The phone still measures, keeps the beat, counts compressions, and scores your session.

HONEST BY DESIGN
Published phone-sensor depth accuracy is about ±5 mm against a target window only 10 mm wide — so ACLSMED CPR shows depth as zones and scores rolling averages instead of pretending to millimetre precision. What a phone cannot measure honestly (like chest recoil), it does not score.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No ads. No analytics. Nothing is collected or sent to any server — your name and readings go only to the ACLSMED Sim room on your local network, and only if you pair.

Requires iPhone with iOS 17 or later. ACLSMED Sim for iPad is a separate app; its CPR Simulator test mode requires a Pro or Clinical Suite plan.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1.0(4) — 2026-08-10

Now on Apple Watch. Wear the sensor on your wrist instead of placing the phone on the chest: a full-screen quality lamp pulses red, amber or green with every compression, a haptic tap and click keep you at 110 per minute, and a session timer shows how long you have been compressing.

  Also in this update:
  • Start and finish the timed test yourself — press START on your iPhone or Apple Watch to begin the class's two-minute test, and STOP to finish
  early and see your debrief
  • Your score is final the moment the test ends — your phone and the instructor's monitor now always agree
  • A steadier connection to the training room: the link recovers on its own, and the watch keeps reporting even when its screen dims
  • Choose iPhone or Apple Watch as your sensor in Settings — your name on the instructor's roster stays the same either way

For practice on training manikins only — never on a person.
