ACLSMED Simulator turns iPads into a high-fidelity clinical training rig: one iPad becomes the patient monitor + defibrillator + pacer, another the instructor remote driving the scenario — and, new in 2.0, a six-station CPR skills trainer. Built for nursing schools, paramedic programs, residency simulation labs, and ACLS courses. Aligned with AHA 2025 guidelines (effective March 2026). WHAT'S IN THE APP • MONITOR ROLE — Full patient monitor with up to six clinical channels: HR/ECG, ART/NIBP, PA, CVP, SpO₂, and EtCO₂. Real-time waveform engine, alarm flash, integrated defibrillator (charge → shock → reset), and transcutaneous pacer. New in 2.0: hardware device shells — hospital defib, brushed-metal, and transport styles with color variants. • INSTRUCTOR ROLE — Educator-facing control panel. RUN THE CODE FROM YOUR IPHONE • New: ACLSMED Sim runs on iPhone as the instructor Remote. The patient monitor stays on an iPad in the room, and the phone in your hand drives it. • One iPad and one iPhone is now a full room. You no longer need a second iPad to teach. • The phone takes your plan's Remote seat. Sign in with the same account as the iPad and they find each other. • The iPhone is the Remote only. Monitor, IVmed, RESPmed and the CPR Simulator still run on iPad, where students can read them from across the bay. BUILT FOR ONE HAND • The main screen carries what changes mid-code: CPR, pads, every vital, the pacer, monitor power, and the defib energy one tap above CHARGE. • NIBP or arterial line: switch the blood pressure source from the main screen. • Tap any vital to set it with step buttons, presets and a slider. Hold a step to repeat. • CHARGE, SHOCK, NIBP and silence stay in the same place on every tab. SHOCK stays locked until the monitor reports it is charged. • Turning the monitor off from the phone takes a hold, not a tap, so a bump in your pocket can't end a scenario. • All 33 megacodes, the full rhythm library, the crash cart, 12-leads, X-rays, labs and patient voice are on the phone too. DEVICES THAT JOIN LATE CATCH UP • Fixed: a remote that joined a room already in progress started on its own defaults. It could show pads off while the monitor had them on. The monitor now brings every joining device up to date on pads, defib, pacer, power, CPR, alarms and sounds. • Metric or imperial now follows every device in the room, including one that joins later. • Fixed: after the monitor was powered off and on, a remote could send the old pacer settings back and restart pacing. The monitor now resets the remote's pacer with its own. ON IPAD • The app keeps a sensible minimum window size under the new iPad windowing, so the remote never loses SHOCK or silence in a narrow window. • The remote now shows when the monitor is alarming, with a count and a timer. Not for use on real patients. ### 2.5.0 — 2026-09-11 fixed all ECG waveform tracings for the monitor, and 12 lead ECGs for education and training purposes only. ### 2.4.0 — 2026-08-26 ACLSMED Sim 2.4.0: choose the units your students actually work in, and every MegaCode case now opens with its spoken EMS handoff. WORK IN IMPERIAL OR METRIC • Choose your unit system the first time you open the app, and change it any time from settings on the Monitor or on the instructor remote. • Imperial gives you °F, lb, ft/in and conventional labs in mg/dL. Metric gives you °C, kg, cm and SI labs in mmol/L. • Temperature, patient weight and height, and the full lab panel all switch together, including the instructor's temperature control and its alarm. • The two tablets stay in agreement. Change units on either one and the other follows, so the instructor and the bedside are never reading the same patient in different units. • Abnormal and critical lab flags are decided on the measurement itself, before any conversion, so a potassium that is critical in one unit system is critical in the other. Switching units changes what you read, never what it means. ALL 33 HANDOFFS ARE NOW RECORDED • The four cases that showed AUDIO COMING SOON now open with a spoken EMS report like every other case: sepsis progressing to septic shock, submassive pulmonary embolism, tricyclic antidepressant overdose, and post ROSC management. • The MegaCode library is complete at 33 of 33. THE CHART NOW OPENS WITH THE HANDOFF • Pressing play beside a case on the Monitor now closes the case list and opens that patient's chart, so the room is looking at the patient while the report is read. Previously the report played with the case list still up, and the chart only appeared once you closed it. CLEARER 12-LEAD TRACINGS • Six tracings have been replaced with cleaner recordings of the same rhythm, among them sinus tachycardia, SVT, sinus bradycardia and sinus arrhythmia. The baseline wander and muscle artifact that made the limb leads hard to read are gone. • The hyperkalemia and junctional tachycardia sheets now show a clean stretch of the recording, so the tented T waves and the QRS are no longer clipped. For education and simulation on training manikins only. Not for use on real patients. ### 2.3.3 — 2026-08-24 ACLSMED Sim 2.3.3: every MegaCode case now opens with a spoken EMS handoff, every patient has a chart you can hand to a student, and the 12-lead library is now built from real recorded ECGs. EVERY CASE NOW OPENS WITH A HANDOFF • 29 of the 33 MegaCode scenarios now begin with a spoken EMS to nurse report, the way one clinician actually hands off to another at the bedside: who the patient is and what they are allergic to, the scene, what the family said, then the vital signs. • Press play beside the case title on the Monitor or the instructor remote. The report always comes out of the Monitor, because that is where the patient is. • Pause it to take a question from a student and pick it up mid sentence, or stop it and start the code. • The four remaining scenarios are written and show AUDIO COMING SOON until they are recorded. THE PATIENT NOW HAS A CHART • Playing a handoff opens a clipboard chart for that patient: photo, age, allergies, history, medications and the physical exam, laid out the way a real chart reads. • The chart names the case number and the patient, and deliberately withholds the diagnosis, so a student can work the patient instead of reading the answer off the header. • RECENT RESULTS gives you the studies that case actually has: chest X-ray, the lab panel, and the 12-lead ECG. The 12-lead now opens instantly instead of flashing white while it draws. • Starting the scenario closes the chart and puts you straight on the live Monitor. THE 12-LEAD LIBRARY IS NOW REAL ECGS • 35 of the 36 tracings are now genuine recorded ECGs rather than drawn approximations, so intervals, axis and morphology hold up under a student reading them lead by lead. • Four tracings that showed the wrong diagnosis have been replaced with correct recordings, and the second degree AV blocks now each show their own rhythm instead of sharing one. • Added sinus arrhythmia, junctional rhythm, accelerated junctional, junctional tachycardia, AVNRT and AVRT. ALARMS THAT MATCH THE MEASUREMENT • With a blood pressure cuff selected, the monitor no longer alarms on a pressure nobody has measured yet. Moving the slider changes the next reading; the alarm arrives with the cuff cycle, on the completion beep, exactly like a real monitor. • Alarm banners now name the source precisely, NIBP for the cuff and ABP for an arterial line, instead of calling both BP. • Resetting a scenario now clears the previous patient completely. Temperature, respiratory and blood pressure alarms no longer keep blinking from the case you just finished, and any open chart, X-ray or lab sheet closes with it. AED • In AED mode, attaching the pads late now starts the analysis on its own. Previously the app waited for the pads before you selected AED, so pads placed afterward did nothing until you reselected the mode. ALSO FIXED • The male voice list in the patient voice library no longer drifts up and down on its own instead of settling where you left it. For education and simulation on training manikins only. Not for use on real patients. ### 2.3.1 — 2026-08-20 ACLSMED Sim: a quieter, steadier teaching day. This release is about reliability. There are no new features and nothing changes about how you run a code. Everything below is the app behaving the way it should over a long session. SOUND THAT STOPS WHEN IT SHOULD • Leaving a role now fully silences it. Moving an iPad from Monitor to Instructor and back no longer leaves a heart rate beep, an alarm loop, a CPR metronome or a defibrillator charge tone running underneath the new role. • Opening a 12-lead, a chest film, the medication log or an ABG panel and closing it again no longer disturbs the bedside audio. • The ventilator and infusion pump roles now start up silently instead of letting a stray fragment of sound through as they warm up. THE PATIENT VOICE IS CLEARER • Patient lines stay clean when the heart rate beep, alarms and the metronome are playing underneath them, and the loudest lines no longer distort at full volume. • Audio no longer goes quiet for a moment after an interruption. When a call, another app or a system alert takes the audio and hands it back, the Monitor picks up where it left off. • Connecting or disconnecting a Bluetooth speaker or headphones mid session no longer kills the Monitor's sound. Audio follows the new output, and every alarm and loop that was running comes back with it. FEWER SURPRISES IN A LONG SESSION • Fixed a rare crash that could end a session when a sound was triggered while the audio system was restarting. • The Monitor now releases its waveform and audio work properly when you leave it, so a full teaching day of role switching stays as responsive as the first hour. ACCOUNT AND LICENSING • Role switching now checks your plan on every path, so an iPad cannot land on a role your plan does not license. • Seat counts stay accurate after an iPad is restored from a backup or replaced. • A quick series of role changes now settles cleanly instead of queueing up behind itself. PRIVACY • Student names are no longer written to the device system log when a phone or watch joins a CPR test. For education and simulation on training manikins only.
