Why does the app for an organization of computer scientists look like it was made for a Nokia in 2006. This makes me more angry than Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Siege

There is absolutely no excuse at the ACM shouldn’t be able to put out a proper app! This app crashes immediately and hasn’t worked for months. Do not use it.

I’m embarrassed to say I’m an ACM member.

It’s so sad that this is the best the ACM can offer.
I could forgive the dated UI but it doesn’t support the larger display sizes of devices newer than the iPhone 4 and therefore has grainy scaling.
That was just the login page, I can’t see what the rest of the app is like because it just crashes.

Unable to use on my iPhone4 (iOS 4.2.1).  Login attempts to my ACM account only produce the "Network Error: Please check network connection" dialog on either working 3G or wifi connections.

This app needs an update either for iOS 7 or iPhone 5.  When you tap on an article the bottom toolbar is not flush with the bottom of screen.  Tapping a couple of times will cycle the toolbar visibility and also position.  After which the toolbar is in the right position.

The overall design is good, the content is great (of course) and it is definitely worth the price (FREE).  I love the archive, search and prominent text change option.  It does have a few quirks with it.  If you have punctuation in your password, you may need to change it before you can log in.

This App makes the valuable ACM TechNews service even easier to read by delivering updated news summaries directly to my iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad three times per week. I especially like the archive scroll bar which makes it easy to go back and see the latest news from a particular day. The share features are easy to use and very useful. Looking forward to the iPad version!

The app itself launches well and functions as expected. The user interface is quite dated and could use a total refresh. Other reviewer mentioned issues with an iPhone 4 which has not been supported by Apple for years and should not count against this app. I used mine on a XS Max and had no issues with scaling.
