Measure, analyze and treat sound like a pro: from a quick noise check to a full room-acoustics study. FREE • SOUND METER: live dB level with min, average and max, microphone calibration against a reference meter, and color-coded history charts. • ANALYZER: frequency spectrum, with pure-tone detection (frequency, period and wavelength). • MEASUREMENTS TABLE: a log of everything you measure, with filter, sort and a clean PDF report with charts. • TUNER: guitar (5 tunings), ukulele, violin, viola, cello, mandolin, banjo, or any note or voice, with a needle, cents deviation and a vibration when you are in tune. COMPLETE (one-time purchase, no subscription) • TREATMENT: enter your room (or scan it with LiDAR), pick the materials, and get the reverberation time (RT60) against a target for your use case, plus how much acoustic foam you need. • RT60 BY FREQUENCY: octave bands from 125 Hz to 4 kHz, so you can see where the bass is the problem. • MATERIAL ABSORPTION: absorption coefficient curves for every surface of the room. • NOISE MAP: tap points on the room plan, measure the level at each one and get a heat map of the noisy zones. • LIVE RT60 MEASUREMENT: a short noise burst, and the microphone measures the decay. • CALCULATORS: sum of sound sources, sound pressure level, frequency, period and wavelength, and a double-wall (mass-spring-mass) calculator with resonance frequency and insulation by frequency. Available in English and French. Your measurements stay on your device. No account, no ads. If you bought Acoustic Detector before it became free, everything stays unlocked automatically. Results are indicative: they rely on standard acoustics models and the iPhone microphone, not on certified instruments. ## Pricing and in-app purchases Base price: Free. **One-time purchases** | Purchase | Price | Type | | --- | --- | --- | | Acoustic Detector Complete | $3.99 | one-time | ## Is Acoustic Detector safe? The last reading stays on screen for a moment so you can fine-tune. • A wider needle arc, plus a new fine-tuning strip of ±10 cents. • A new level meter shows how loud the microphone signal is, with tips when it is too weak or too strong. • Baritone ukulele (DGBE) and low-G ukulele added. ### 1.4 — 2026-10-21 Version 1.4: a free tuner, added to Acoustic Detector! • Tuner: guitar (standard, Drop D, half step down, Open G, DADGAD), ukulele, violin, viola, cello, mandolin and banjo. • Chromatic mode: play or sing any note, and the app shows its name and the deviation in cents. • Precise needle, a vibration when the note is in tune, string lock, and an A reference adjustable from 430 to 450 Hz. • Note names appear as Do Re Mi or C D E depending on the app's language. • Free, like the sound meter and the analyzer. If you already bought the app, everything stays unlocked. ### 1.3 — 2026-10-19 Version 1.3: Acoustic Detector now speaks your language! • New languages: Spanish, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Italian and Japanese, in addition to English and French. • Pick the language from the main menu (the globe icon), independently of your iPhone's language. • The permission prompts (microphone, camera, photos) are translated too. • Small stability improvements. ### 1.2 — 2026-10-03 Version 1.2: room acoustics in detail, and the app is now free. NEW • Reverberation by frequency: RT60 per octave band (125 Hz to 4 kHz), with your target and tips for the bass. • Material absorption: absorption coefficient curves for every surface in the room. • Noise map: measure the level at several spots and get a heat map of the noisy zones. • Double wall: mass-spring-mass calculator with resonance frequency and insulation by frequency (mineral wool, decoupled leaves). • The new charts also appear in the measurements table and the PDF report. • Number fields now accept the decimal comma. THE APP IS NOW FREE • Free: sound meter, analyzer, measurements table and PDF export. • Treatment and Calculators unlock with a one-time purchase, no subscription. • If you already bought the app, everything stays unlocked automatically. ### 1.1 — 2026-09-28 New: LiDAR room scan for Treatment mode — point your iPhone around the room and the dimensions and walls fill in automatically. One-point microphone calibration for more reliable readings. Two new live chart styles for the Sound Meter (Festival and Studio). A 3D room diagram was added to PDF reports. Small stability and translation improvements. ## Apps similar to Acoustic Detector | App | Rating | Price | Category | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | [Decibel Sound Meter - dBlyze](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/decibel-sound-meter-dblyze/id6745800603) | — | Free | Utilities | | [Ville de Saint-Eustache](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/ville-de-saint-eustache/id6756426854) | — | Free | Utilities | | [Coin Flip 3D - Toss It!](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/coin-flip-3d-toss-it/id1510680548) | 4.6 (167) | Free | Utilities | | [iSecurity: Total Protection](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/isecurity-total-protection/id1672940089) | 4.3 (5,561) | Free | Utilities | | [Lux Light Meter for Mobile](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/lux-light-meter-for-mobile/id1638732220) | 4.5 (235) | Free | Utilities | ## More apps by Jean-David Giroux - [MY CREATION](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/my-creation/id6805916716) - [SITE DIM](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/site-dim/id6807966608) - [Fort et Château](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/fort-et-chateau/id6811432420) - [CaMordTu](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/camordtu/id6815033212) - [Tricolab](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/tricolab/id6817956569) All apps by Jean-David Giroux: https://appshunter.io/developer/6796142518 --- *Data collected daily from the US App Store and indexed by [AppsHunter](https://appshunter.io/).
