I’ll have all of my past events and new events in the calendar and they’ll show up great, but one day they just stop. Before finding it, I worked my way through at least ten other calendar apps, giving each a proper chance before moving on because there was always something missing. Since installing Across, I’ve never felt the need to look elsewhere. It’s fast, reliable and just feels properly engineered. I care as much about good design as functionality, and Across is one of those rare apps that gets both right. It uses Apple’s calendar database, but the app itself is in a completely different league. I also really appreciate the lifetime licence. I paid once over two years ago and I’m still getting regular updates with genuinely useful new features. I want to have a widget to see the month but it’s filled with dots and stuff rather than having an option just for a clear month view, where you can see just the dates. There is so much customization - but not so much to be overwhelming - so you can tweak it in whatever ways you want. It also offers a few widget views that I’m surprised have been so hard to find, so I can see upcoming events in an aesthetic way. You can try the app for free but the paid upgrade is one of the easiest purchases I have made on the App Store. And this is the best! I especially like the “Plan” weekly planner and the use of colors for events/tasks. ### 5/5 — They don’t make ‘em like they used to—but Across does *2026-05-02* The iPhone calendar has always bugged me. It’s so limited and I can barely make out what the h*ll is going on in my day. Across completely bridges that gap. I can visualize everything. I literally had no idea what I was missing until this came along. And to get a lifetime subscription for this price was the easiest purchase I’ve made in a while. Gone are the days of apps being passion projects rather than schemes to extract money from you over time. Across is the exception. I bought this app not just because it’s good but I believe the developers should be compensated for their hard work and integrity. To them, I want to express my gratitude. I know the development process is unforgiving and without thanks. Result you can have an event for which you can't set the location. Other calendar apps can also use addresses from Contacts which then shop correctly on map displays. Update: 25 Jan 2026: Tried again but too many annoying UI weirdness eg in day detail pop-up in month view all day (untimed) reminders are assigned the time they were last edited - they are without time of day so why display them with one ? It works fine for the most part but when i drag an event/to do item to a different time, it lags like crazy and i need to wait 3-5 seconds for a single action! 2) if i add an event using the plus button on the bottom right side of the screen, the date should default to the date that i am on, not today’s date. For example, today is April 24th but right now i am looking at my plans for April 30. If i add an event using the + button, the date for thr event/to do will default to April 24th (which is not what i want. I want the date to be April 30). Still hands down the best calendar for Apple devices - I’ve tried plenty and this wins every time! I’ve been a loyal cross-platform user of Informant however after the recent massive price hike, I’ve been looking for a comparable alternative and came across Across(!) by Accident. I have multiple calendars which I like to see in one go - for example work, family, school and other subscribed calendars and on the usual popular ones such as Google, Outlook, Fantastical etc, the dates just look really congested. With this app, the customisation allows for a near perfect “at a glance” view on my iPad and iMac and also it’s great on the iPhone too.
