It’s also very buggy and won’t load any questions right away. The app also freezes and then crashes after a couple of minutes. My exam is in a couple of days and I would like to be able to use this. ### 3/5 — 3 stars *2019-01-12, version 6.7* It gives good content and questions, however they tend to be repetitive questions . I see the same question almost every time I take practice exam. It is also very buggy, crashes at least twice a day, frustrating when you’re in question 8/10 and crashes and you have to restart app. If they fixed both of these things, that would make it 5 starts for sure. If I'm on the go, or unable to sit down with my books for whatever reason, I just open up the app and get some review in. Great for busy working CPT candidate. I used the app to reinforce areas and to prepare for the comprehensive ACSM exam. The question style/difficulty is similar to those on the exam and the rationales are clear. I would recommend the app reference chapter/page in the textbook along with Kindle version. The app and premium content are a value. Do not hesitate to use this app. ### 5/5 — Great app! I did however get my bachelors in kinesiology so I had background in the material. It holds you accountable with daily questions and you shouldn't have an excuse not to review for a little bit of you have down time! After downloading the app I decided to purchase one of the upgrades. My card was charged and the money was taken from my account but there was no upgrade to my account. It still told me I was using the “free” version. I wasted almost an hour trying to find a customer service number to call with no luck. There is barely a message center to contact. This app just scammed me out of my money. DO NOT USE THIS APP ### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money *2019-07-18, version 6.7.3* This app has reset itself more than once and now it doesn’t even recognize that I paid a premium price. I’ll tap on the quick 10 question exam option but all I get is a never ended loading screen, which only leads to the app freezing again and quitting out. Kinda bummed that I paid for the unlimited access and can’t even use the app. ### 1/5 — Functionality is absolutely atrocious *2018-12-15, version 6.7* I regret using this app because I spend more time waiting for it to load, logging in over and over again and dealing with it unexpectedly closing out, then having to log in again when I’m only 6 questions in! It is absolutely NOT worth the price and I deserve my money back because it doesn’t even evaluate your past exam practices and tell you your weak subject areas because it won’t load! I have literally waited 20 minutes to see if it would eventually refresh and actually tell me how I am doing in each domain but it just has the titles and says that I haven’t done any practice exams. Worst experience ever with an app. And honestly it’s not helping me study because now I am just thinking about getting the stupid app to load and not actually being able to read any of the questions. Will NEVER get anything from this company again. Of all the 650 questions they provide I'd say I encountered maybe 10 on the actual test. Did you read/study the ACSM's Resources for the Personal Trainer textbook as the ACSM recommends? Everything you need to know to pass their exam is in that book, which is why we reference it directly within the app. Lastly, our questions will never appear on an official exam. We cover the important subjects and topics you can expect to see on the real exam but that's as far as it goes. If you memorized our content with the expectations of seeing it on the ACSM's exam, you've done yourself (and our app) a huge disservice. Thanks! ### 2/5 — Do Not Rely on This App as a Study Tool *2019-07-24, version 6.7.3* The app constantly glitches and recycles the same questions, slightly changing the words up on the mobile app for your “800” totaled questions. It helps as a quick refresher, but you will not pass the test just using this material. I took time to go online to compare the material tested and the questions there are 10x harder and more complex than what they are on the app. I went to review the questions I missed outside the app and the app showed past questions in the same simple form (i.e. they did not correlate and the questions were different but it still said I “got the answer right”). I have deleted and redownloaded the app and it still freezes and quits on me. The actual content of the app is great. Thanks! ### 2/5 — Was studying old content *2018-03-27, version 6.5.1* My test is a week and a half away and I’ve been using this to study along with the book and webinars, etc. It seemed great until I realized that they just yesterday updated to the new content which was changed in December 2017. I’m upset I have been studying old material. I looked on the site to send feedback and didn’t see any email address. **Developer response:** Hello! We updated our CPT app to ACSM's new 2017 curriculum on January 19th. All of our existing app users got an in-app message letting them know this new content was available at no additional cost. Updating to this new content is/was optional and it sounds like you may have rejected the update. Some of the questions within appeared word for word on the actual test, and even those that did not appear were very helpful for reinforcing the material learned from my ACSM textbooks.
