### 5/5 — Super hilfreich

*2024-08-02*

### 5/5 — The Missing Link

*2024-04-23*

... has been found.

Just ingenious in a bunch of ways, but especially the iOS macOS separate purchase.

Overall, I've barely touched the surface but see tons of use cases & usage coming.

### 5/5 — Very Slick!

*2024-03-09*

As a cross-platform electron-based app, Obsidian likely will never have shorcut support on its own. This makes creating powerful shortcuts super easy. This is turning into a key piece in my workflows.

### 5/5 — Incontournable

*2024-03-02*

### 5/5 — The missing feature for Obsidian mobile!

*2024-02-17, version 1.4.2*

Obsidian is a wonderful productivity tool, but the mobile app has major pain points in terms of always having to navigate between notes and vaults. Slow, cumbersome, and distracting compared to the desktop equivalent. Thankfully, this app lets you produce widgets and share sheet integrations in order to bring the efficiency of Obsidian into the mobile realm.

Now I can immediately go from my Home Screen to my daily notes or a specific note I’m frequently using. I use this while travelling to open a list of phrases and currency conversion notes. It’s also possible to make a widget that brings up a menu of several frequently used notes, which lets me get to any of my current projects quickly from a single widget.

You can so much more too, like selecting text in any app and appending it to different sections within a note. There’s tons of shortcut functions like this if you want to go deep.

You will need to learn about iOS shortcuts to make this work, but it’s fairly straightforward as the app walks you through setup and is well-documented. The developer is very responsive on support too. It was well worth a few minutes of setup to streamline everything on an app I’m using many times a day.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-02-04*

Unfortunately, the continuous pop-up ruined it for me. Maybe there is a better solution.

Edit: thanks for the response. But, I was referring to the pop-up asking for money that becomes increasingly more frequent.

**Developer response:** Hi Jacob, thanks for the update! The purchase reminder starts showing up after two weeks of trial time, true. Sporadically at first, but increasingly often over time -- that felt friendlier to me than just ending the trial period with a stop sign of sorts.

### 5/5 — Absolutely ESSENTIAL for Obsidian

*2024-01-19*

If you like really digging into Obsidian, this app really unlocks even more of Obsidian's limitless potential -- I can't imagine ever not using Actions for Obsidian.

I like to pull data into Obsidian from all sorts of different places and apps. Paired with Apple Shortcuts, Actions for Obsidian makes it easy to do so.

This means I can use purpose built apps on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, or even cloud based tools, and grab text data, easily moving it into my vault.

THANK YOU for making this!

Nobody who is into Shortcuts and Obsidian should be without it.

**Developer response:** Thank you very much 🖖🏼

### 5/5 — Amazingly comprehensive utility

*2023-12-04*

This opens up the full flexibility of Obsidian for your shortcuts. My first use for this was for appending short text to a log section of my daily note. I couldn’t have asked for an easier way to do it than the “Append text to daily note” action. Well thought out, well documented app from a truly responsive developer.

**Developer response:** Your review made my day, many thanks 🖖🏼

### 5/5 — Append notes!

*2023-11-22*

I wanted a shortcut ala cgp grey, that let me enter text then decide where it goes. Enabling prepend or append to a given obsidian note is exactly what I needed! I’m sure this is a fundamental issue with interactions with iOS and Obsidian more than the app or app devs, but when the actions run, it flips back and forth rapidly between actions for obsidian and obsidian when it runs, and it lands on Obsidian each time it does this.

But, with what I need this for, quickly hitting down ideas before I forget them, the flippy back and forth doesn’t matter since by the time it does the flippy, my part in writing is completely done

### 5/5 — Game changer for Obsidian

*2023-10-16, version 1.3.0*

Previously I had spent hours using hacks and shortcuts to create even basic notes in obsidian. This app makes simple creation simple and even more advanced steps easy.
Changed the way I use Obsidian for the better.

### 5/5 — Powerful addition to Obsidian

*2023-09-28*

I hope Obsidian on iOS includes Shortcuts functionality eventually, but until then, this is a very powerful addition to your arsenal. You can create a note and a whole lot more beyond just that. Works with Periodic Notes. Great documentation and a great intro/explainer when opening the app. Now, with the tap of a button, I have access to a whole host of various actions that would take much longer if I was interacting with the iOS app directly.

Setup isn’t complicated at all and you don’t even have to think about how to create the Shortcuts because for every one you may want to create there is a help page explaining what to do. Five stars!

**Developer response:** Thank you! 🖖🏼

### 5/5 — The missing link for Obsidian and Mac.

*2023-09-23*

Scales Obsidian's power greatly, allowing for a multitude of workflow enhancements for the app on Mac and iOS. A few days after adopting it, can't imagine my Obsidian workflow without this tool.

And the developer is excellent: Quick to reply to and address any questions or concerns.

If you use Obsidian on iOS and/or Mac, this is an essential addition.

**Developer response:** Many thanks! 🙌🏼

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not open source = No go

*2023-10-15*

The app would lead you to believe it's open source, but after visiting the GitHub page, you realize, only the actions are open. No thanks, not with my notes.

**Developer response:** The companion plugin (Actions URI) is 100% open source and freely available on GitHub. The macOS/iOS app is not, and nowhere is stated that it is. It is a bit petty to give one star because something you've imagined to be isn't actually so.

And your notes don't leave your device. Feel free to analyze the nonexistent network traffic. ;)

### 1/5 — Great app

*2023-09-26*

Unfortunately, the continuous pop-up ruined it for me. Maybe there is a better solution.

**Developer response:** Hi Jacob, I assume you mean the app appearing when one of its actions is the last in a workflow. Sadly, that can't be helped: The way iOS handles the type of API that Obsidian is offering makes it nigh impossible. However, there is a setting in the app to return to the Home Screen, open Shortcuts, or run a shortcut at the end of a workflow. It's all explained in the settings tab!

### 2/5 — Doesn't work

*2023-12-11, version 1.4.1*

Tried installing twice, but no shortcuts come up in Apple shortcuts.

### 3/5 — Works but has a major bug

*2026-06-12*

This works, but when the action is finished it behaves weirdly. Instead of staying in Obsidian (even if “reveal note” is selected in Shortcuts) it returns to the Actions app. If you change the app settings to open Obsidian on completion, it shows a black screen instead of opening Obsidian.

### 4/5 — Glad it exists

*2024-01-24, version 1.4.2*

It works good, has a 14 day free period (after that it’s a one time purchase)

Hopefully there will come a day when obsidian itself gets shortcut support; but until then this is great.

### 4/5 — This is GREAT... Except for...

*2024-01-04*

... why does it open the splash screen on iOS everytime the Shortcut runs, putting me into the set up mode, after I've linked my vault, installed URI, and called back?

I see this option on MacOS but not on iOS.

This may be user errror (mine) but I'd love to get this working. It looks amazing and super useful.

Also, it continues to list vaults I've removed. Any way to clear those?

THANKS!!!

**Developer response:** Short answer: You can change that behavior: Go to the app's Settings tab, and configure your preferred "End of Workflow" there.

Long answer: It's not a splash screen you're seeing but the main app. Actions for Obsidian (AFO) becoming the focussed app like this on iOS is an unfortunate side effect of AFO translating between Obsidian and Shortcuts, and the way the Obsidian API is set up (no blame intended!). I can't do anything about it, and please believe me, I've tried *everything.*

As for the vaults, please use the Feedback link in the app to send me a support request, and we'll figure it out!

### 4/5 — Great, but Apple Watch can't utilize the commands

*2023-12-01*

The integration of Apple Shortcuts and Obsidian is amazing! Only thing is that unfortunately apple watch doesnt support the commands, which is a shame.

### 5/5 — Incredible Productivity Boost

*2026-01-05*

I’m pretty amazed that an app like this even exists. I’ve just set up my first action. Action Button > Record > Transcribe > Write to New Note

Works flawlessly.

I was worried when I noticed that Obsidian didn’t support Shortcuts natively, but this app fixes that entirely.

### 5/5 — Just amazing work!

*2025-06-29, version 2025.1.0*

This set of actions is honestly incredible. Fantastic work and just want to say thank you to the dev!

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-06-17, version 2025.1.0*

Extensive list of actions covering almost all requirements. The developer has done well to work around the requirements of Apple and obsidian to bring the two together.

Developer support is very prompt and helpful

### 5/5 — What a fantastic experience! Truly a game-changer!

*2025-06-14, version 2025.1.0*

I initially tried it thinking I probably wouldn’t buy it, but after just three days, I’ve already found several uses for it. I know it will be incredibly useful for integrating with Obsidian across all my devices. I really appreciate that they offer a reasonable free trial period of 14 days without requiring you to sign up before trying it out! If you enjoy logging in Obsidian and dislike doing everything manually, you won’t regret giving it a try!

### 5/5 — The missing link between Obsidian and Apple devices

*2025-06-04, version 2025.1.0*

I’m so grateful this exist. Wanted to automate writing my Daily Notes in an easy and especially very quick manner. Using this app with Apple shortcuts I can now write journal entries instantly, using an input prompt. Just as quick as using the native Apple Notes app (but with all the open and cross platform benefits that Obsidian brings)

Also what helped is the recent ability from Apple to keep the Obsidian iCloud folder downloaded, so it doesn’t need to sync on startup.

Thank you Dev!

### 5/5 — Great tool, great support

*2025-04-21, version 2024.2.3*

The utility provides a lot of extra automation functionality, and the support is outstanding.

### 5/5 — -

### 5/5 — Great developer

*2024-10-28*

Very useful app!

### 5/5 — Works with Latest MacOS update

*2024-10-24, version 2024.2.2*

This thing works! Thank you, I’ve retracted my other review and re-submitting this one. Looks like the app-intents/shortcuts were bugged out on my previous version of MacOS.

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2024-10-01*

Everything works really well. It’s a great way to automate your journaling and notetaking workflows with Obsidian.
