The app doesn’t save my login info even when the box is checked. Doesn’t support Apple Touch ID. So I have to login each time I open it. I tried deleting and re downloading and it still doesn’t work. On all my devices I get “invalid password” more than half the time I try to login to my account. The app will not allow you to export documents so you HAVE to use their software. In the lucky occasion I am able to login AND open a document I can’t find the info I want because the PDF navigation is on this app is crap. Trash it and use GoodReader CAE! ### 1/5 — Crashes every time *2019-01-20, version 4.5* App worked great for 2 days. Now, crashes every time just after login. Both iPad and iPhone. Uninstalled and reinstalled on both. Still same crash issue. Absolutely useless. My training provider has used this for several years and they are doing a disservice to their clients. It crashes, doesn’t save my downloads, doesn’t allow printing multiple pages and the list goes on. App is buggy. Interface is outdated and cheaply designed. It is extremely cumbersome to use which does not facilitate a learning experience. For how much money we spend on these type ratings you would think CAE would give us a remotely half way usable PDF document viewer to study with. Appalled with the quality. All my CAE docs are on this, however it’s getting deleted because it takes 4-5 minutes to load and crashes the moment I open a document. Not a lot of proper development here and will make many complaints to CAE next week to use something else. ### 1/5 — Continually crashes *2020-01-16, version 6.0* The biggest issue: After downloading the training material to Active Reader, my iPad Pro couldn’t handle the memory requirements and crashed the app. I closed all other apps that were open in the background to free up available memory, yet the app continued to immediately crash when I tried to re-load it. What lead to the problem (issue 2): After referencing and closing pdf documents not stored on my device, Active Reader would take 15-30 seconds to “reset”, preventing any action before I could open another document. What a terrible system! ### 1/5 — App crashes constantly *2019-07-29, version 5.1* This app crashes constantly. Also will not retain login credentials when opened on another device. Keep it up! ### 5/5 — I see improvements and great support *2019-03-13, version 4.7* The app did have its flaws and would crash unexpectedly at times. But it seems that the dev team is working hard at improving the user experience. Since using the app there have been 3 updates. All which have fixed bugs and crashes. There are some lingering bugs, but there’s not doubt in my mind they are working on fixing it for the next release. I have called their support team and they are top notch! Very helpful and seem to care. Looking forward to future releases and using the app more. ### 5/5 — Great Features, Easy To learn *2019-02-12, version 4.6* I love the annotations, and fact that you can you can save certain sections, and search for specific parts of a document. Easy for communicating and asking questions to your trainer! Message. App is outdated and cryptic in terms of usability. CAE doing a disservice to clients who are required to use this… ### 2/5 — Crashes or is slow *2019-07-29* App crashes every now and then for no reason while reading a document. Or, sometimes it is very slow loading a document and it needs to be restarted or it just won’t load at all. No options in the app to report a bug or get support. For a document sharing, storage and reading option it is actually pretty bad. Better options out there if you have the option. ### 2/5 — App is difficult to work with *2019-04-19, version 4.8* 1) Bookmarking pages in very inconsistent. Some bookmark fine while others seem and then disappear. 2) There is no table of contents indexing of documents that I can find anywhere in the application. Thus working with large documents and not having bookmarks work correctly is extremely cumbersome. I too am taking a CAE course, and it is expensive for the company who hired me. So the restrictions they have placed...no printing, no exporting to an app that can index a TOC are frustrating as well.
