The app doesn’t work on Apple Watch, it close as soon as you open it and doesn’t register data.

We appreciate your patience, and we'll let you know as soon as the fix is available
UPDATE : This issue has been addressed in Revision 2.8.0. You're welcome to give it a try.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Apple Watch

### 2/5 — Fixable

*2025-06-05*

This app paired with ENGO eyewear has brought about dramatic improvement in my 5K times, but it suffers from some serious shortcomings and computation errors. The best I can say for it is that it has great unrealized potential. The average rating of 2.2 stars is about right for the performance of this app as it stands today.

 The errors:
When restarting from a pause, the app appears to use the last position before the pause as the new starting position. As a result, my first speed calculation after pause has been as high as 150km/h, and this severely impacts subsequent average speed calculations. It also makes the remainder of the plot less nuanced because it increases the scale of the plot.

The post run parameter graphs don’t always appear. Normally, my speed and altitude plots are displayed when I save the data, but sometimes only the altitude plot showed up even though I had included both parameters in the eyewear display.

The shortcomings:
I would much prefer that the eyewear hand gesture be used to pause recording instead of switching between displays. I like to get exact elapsed times, and it is difficult and cumbersome to do this on the APP screen while running. Perhaps this could be made selectable so that people who want to use the hand gesture to scroll through screens won’t be inconvenienced.

Make any data that is displayed on the screen available to plot. At present, I only get plots of speed and altitude after a run. I don’t get a heart rate plot or any other parameter plots which I would find very useful.

Have a variable, selectable smoothing of the speed readout. Other devices I’ve had provide a moving average of a selectable number of speed samples. The instantaneous speed readout I have now is too noisy to be useful.

Make all plotted data available for downloading or sharing. Presently only .gpx data is downloadable. Having all plotted parameters available for downloading would greatly increase the utility of this APP.
I hope the programmers read this and make the app a better product.

### 1/5 — Never Worked

*2025-04-22*

I could never get my glasses to connect to my genie 6x sapphire. I tried reaching out to the developer and no response. They connect to my phone, I can get the data field onto my garmin…but the glasses never connect no matter how many times I try. I gave up for about a year, just tried today, updated firmware on all bits…still won’t connect to my watch.

**Developer response:** Please ensure that your Garmin watch is in the list of supported devices of ActiveLook datafield on the Garmin store. If you have any problem with the Garmin datafield, please contact customer support at customer@engoeyewear.com, they will provide help on how to use your Garmin watch with Engo glasses.

### 3/5 — Great when working properly

*2025-04-19*

I’m probably one of the early adopters of the ENGO 2. I’ve had them for years now. I use them for running and cycling. When they work, there’s one of the best pieces of tech out there. Not having to glance at my Apple Watch is a game changer. However, the Apple Watch is terrible. It loses connection often. Also, it may say connected and the timer will elapse but your run or event is not being recorded. I’ve lost distance and time due to having to start another recording session, etc. Very frustrating. Please fix the iPhone and Apple Watch app or let it work with other apps out there.

**Developer response:** Thank you for being an early adopter of the ENGO 2 and for your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear that you find our product useful for your running and cycling activities.

We are actively working on bug fixes for Apple Watch, if you want to early test beta version and provide us feedback please contact at customer@engoeyewear.com :-)

### 1/5 — Pretty awful watch app

*2025-04-02*

The watch app is pretty awful. It routinely fails to record the GPS of my workout, no matter how many times I reinstall the app or verify the location settings. The eyewear has difficulty connecting to the app as well, and will say it is connected when it isn’t or that it can’t find the eyewear when it is on and right next to the watch.

Developers: please improve the app or allow the supported eyewear to work with other apps like the native Apple Fitness app or Strava if you’re not going to support the app. You’re hamstringing otherwise great hardware by forcing this app on us.

**Developer response:** Hi Enaxus,

Thanks for your feedback — and we’re really sorry to hear about your experience.

- We're currently working on a fix for the GPS tracking issue on the Apple Watch and expect to release an update soon. If you're interested, we’d love to include you in our beta testing for this fix!

- As for the connection issues with your eyewear, we’d like to offer you a replacement. Please reach out to us at customer@engoeyewear.com so we can arrange that.

- Lastly, while the ActiveLook app is required to update the firmware of the glasses, you can use them with other running apps like Cadence once the initial setup is complete. We also provide open-source code, so anyone can create their own perfect running app.

Thanks again for taking the time to share this — your feedback helps us improve the experience for all users.
