### 3/5 — Engo2 clear glasses

*2026-04-13, version 2.8.2*

I love the clear glasses because engo did not make me dizzy 😵 👍
One problem is no navigation in the glasses

### 2/5 — Early adopter - 2022

*2025-10-11, version Version 2.8.1*

App not work. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app and no bueno.

Help

### 2/5 — Super idée mais qui fonctionne mal

*2025-06-09, version 2.7.0*

### 2/5 — Fixable

*2025-06-05, version 2.6.5*

This app paired with ENGO eyewear has brought about dramatic improvement in my 5K times, but it suffers from some serious shortcomings and computation errors. The best I can say for it is that it has great unrealized potential. The average rating of 2.2 stars is about right for the performance of this app as it stands today.

 The errors:
When restarting from a pause, the app appears to use the last position before the pause as the new starting position. As a result, my first speed calculation after pause has been as high as 150km/h, and this severely impacts subsequent average speed calculations. It also makes the remainder of the plot less nuanced because it increases the scale of the plot.

The post run parameter graphs don’t always appear. Normally, my speed and altitude plots are displayed when I save the data, but sometimes only the altitude plot showed up even though I had included both parameters in the eyewear display.

The shortcomings:
I would much prefer that the eyewear hand gesture be used to pause recording instead of switching between displays. I like to get exact elapsed times, and it is difficult and cumbersome to do this on the APP screen while running. Perhaps this could be made selectable so that people who want to use the hand gesture to scroll through screens won’t be inconvenienced.

Make any data that is displayed on the screen available to plot. At present, I only get plots of speed and altitude after a run. I don’t get a heart rate plot or any other parameter plots which I would find very useful.

Have a variable, selectable smoothing of the speed readout. Other devices I’ve had provide a moving average of a selectable number of speed samples. The instantaneous speed readout I have now is too noisy to be useful.

Make all plotted data available for downloading or sharing. Presently only .gpx data is downloadable. Having all plotted parameters available for downloading would greatly increase the utility of this APP.
I hope the programmers read this and make the app a better product.

### 3/5 — Great when working properly

*2025-04-19, version 2.6.4*

I’m probably one of the early adopters of the ENGO 2. I’ve had them for years now. I use them for running and cycling. When they work, there’s one of the best pieces of tech out there. Not having to glance at my Apple Watch is a game changer. However, the Apple Watch is terrible. It loses connection often. Also, it may say connected and the timer will elapse but your run or event is not being recorded. I’ve lost distance and time due to having to start another recording session, etc. Very frustrating. Please fix the iPhone and Apple Watch app or let it work with other apps out there.

### 1/5 — Pretty awful watch app

*2025-04-02, version 2.6.4*

The watch app is pretty awful. It routinely fails to record the GPS of my workout, no matter how many times I reinstall the app or verify the location settings. The eyewear has difficulty connecting to the app as well, and will say it is connected when it isn’t or that it can’t find the eyewear when it is on and right next to the watch.

Developers: please improve the app or allow the supported eyewear to work with other apps like the native Apple Fitness app or Strava if you’re not going to support the app. You’re hamstringing otherwise great hardware by forcing this app on us.

### 3/5 — Pause automatique

*2025-01-30, version 2.6.4*

### 3/5 — Caveat emptor

*2024-08-01*

This is a case of a pretty decent HUD hardware with comically abysmal software. Moreover, the reviews seem quite old, so I don't have a lot of confidence that any improvements are planned. They say they offer a refund on returns but I see in another review that they don't seem to honor that policy. Here are my first impressions after using the display once. I took the ENGO 2 on a walk using the Running mode. The first thing I noticed was the pace was rounded to the nearest minute per km. The seconds were always zero. e.g. 12:00 minutes per km., 11:00 minutes per km. Etc. I lost my last race by 11 seconds so this lack of precision means their pace information is of little use to me. It seems like they have the capability to do better since they display speed with two decimal point accuracy. The next problem is the instantaneous speed. It bounces all over the place. They need to have a moving average of the last few seconds (best if they allow the user to specify how many seconds) to make the reading more stable and thus useable. Finally, when I opted for more data side by side in the display, I couldn't see the icons that delineate which readout is which. e.g. heart for heart rate, foot prints for distance. For some reason, they didn't appear to be as bright as the parameters they were labeling. I plan to update this review after more use. On the hardware side, things worked pretty well. I was able to extract all the necessary GPS information from my IPhone 12 without any difficulty. I had a little trouble getting my Polar H10 heart rate sensor input, but it appears to be working now.

Customer service is downright weird. It's like pulling teeth to get answers. For example, I asked if the ENGO 2 was compatible with my T-REX 2 sports watch. I got no answer. When I complained, they responded that their answer was probably in my spam folder (it wasn't). Now personally, I would have included the answer to the question in that response, but no, they didn't. I still don't know if it can work with my T-REX. When the hardware showed up, I had several questions about the function of some of the items in the package as well as some complaints about the software. The answer I got was that this was to be expected of nascent technology. They didn't answer my question about what some of the items in the package were for.

Caveat emptor!

### 1/5 — Metric Roulette

*2024-03-05, version 2.5.5*

The whole reason one purchases metric tracking gear is so that they can track their metrics. The ActiveLook software eats your metrics instead of tracking them. There is about a 25% chance the app will crash during your run or your data won’t upload to Strava and either way it is lost forever. This is extremely frustrating and the latest software hasn’t resolved the issue.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Apple Watch Ultra

*2023-10-24, version 2.5.2*

Very dissatisfied and the company isn’t honoring return policy. I’ve requested multiple times a return label from them but have been left without a response

### 1/5 — Unusable with poor support

*2023-08-29, version 2.3.0*

The Engo 2 glasses seem pretty good but
 - they need better shielding especially across the top to reduce distracting reflections
 - the Activelook module in your field of vision does impede your vision, you can sort of see ‘through’ it but it’s not great
 - they have no prescription lens option

The app is extremely disappointing and makes the glasses largely unusable due to how fragile the app’s Bluetooth is. If a sensor temporarily disconnects, the App never recovers (eg if a sensor goes out of range or into sleep mode). So you end up with nothing to see in your HUD! Other times the app looses connection with the glasses and you’re stuck with a static HUD screen with outdated data, perhaps sometimes showing you the searching screen. A reboot of the app may help recover, but not something I’m willing to do in the middle of a serious workout.

Sadly, these issues have been known to the developer for about a year but still they persist. The future is not very bright for this company.

### 1/5 — Not work on apple watch series 11

Not work on apple watch series 11

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on Apple Watch

*2026-07-02, version 2.8.3*

The app doesn’t work on Apple Watch, it close as soon as you open it and doesn’t register data.

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne pas avec Apple Watch

*2026-07-01, version 2.8.3*

Inutilisables donc.

### 1/5 — Su Ultra 3 crasha subito

*2026-06-16, version 2.8.3*

Su Ultra 3 crasha subito

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with Apple Watch

*2026-06-12, version 2.8.3*

When you sync to the watch, it force closes the app on the watch. Never syncs. No run data. Such a waste.

### 1/5 — Problemas de conectividad

*2026-01-08, version 2.8.2*

He tenido problemas con AppleWatch y Garmin 1030.

### 1/5 — Miguel

*2025-06-13*

The Apple Watch app does not work fine, I have followed the tutorial and It does not change metrics from miles to kilometers. Is it a bug?

**Developer response:** Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We're currently working on a new version of the app that will correct this issue with the distance units not updating properly from miles to kilometers.

We appreciate your patience, and we'll let you know as soon as the fix is available
UPDATE : This issue has been addressed in Revision 2.8.0. You're welcome to give it a try.

### 1/5 — Never Worked

*2025-04-22, version 2.6.4*

I could never get my glasses to connect to my genie 6x sapphire. I tried reaching out to the developer and no response. They connect to my phone, I can get the data field onto my garmin…but the glasses never connect no matter how many times I try. I gave up for about a year, just tried today, updated firmware on all bits…still won’t connect to my watch.

### 5/5 — Crash de la version 2.6.4

### 5/5 — Presque parfait !

*2024-03-09, version 2.5.5*

### 5/5 — Improved app makes a huge difference

*2022-09-18, version 2.1.1*

The latest app changes ActiveLook a lot, for the better. The new data field integration for Garmin still requires some attention to set up, but once it’s done, the connection is stable and the ability to customize your screens is huge. I set up screen 1 for hiit and screen two for recovery, and I can easily see just what I need to see while running. I didn’t expect it would make such a big difference, but using this app with Engo makes me more relaxed and confident because I don’t need to slow down all the time to check my wrist. Didn’t realize I was training with some low level anxiety- now it’s gone. This is an example of how a little thing makes a big difference.
