Well it was working before I updated again. Haven’t had a chance yet to really test it. That is what I am doing now. There is no response when they are written to be at the app, which I did twice. There is a page to submit a headshot and resume which doesn’t seem to work. I can’t get help with this. If you’re being strategic about contacting casting directors or even agents/managers. This is a great tool. If youre trying to get into the industry, then you need this app. ### 5/5 — Treating the actor like a pro *2012-12-13, version 1.7* As an actor & someone who has worked in casting for years, I truly value that a celebrated CD for the past 20 years took the time to make an app that helps the professional actor. This app values actors in a town where a lot of times we are treated like children, newbies, and replaceable. I have the premium version on my phone and the free at home, so I can use it whenever I need. Having a Cliff Notes to what is going on at my fingertips is always welcome. As far as the negative complaints below about it only being in two cities, LA & NYC were not randomly chosen: they are the center cities for acting in this country. Yes, we are thrilled that acting has taken off in many regional areas, including Louisiana, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, NM, Texas, Carolinas, Boston, etc., I am not disputing that. Right now, the volume of work in LA & NYC is why the app is so valuable for those of us here trying to balance. And give the app a chance that in the future more regional areas might be added! How easy the app was to use was very surprising not to mention all the helpful casting information and the option to choose between tv show castings and movie casting. I found the tips of the day amazingly helpful and absorbing the opinions of working actors on questions i myself had second thoughts about was very reassuring and beneficial. Actor genie has taken everything you will ever need On you way to becoming a actor and packed into a easy to use app that is with you wherever you go. Can't speak to its usefulness to those outside LA but it's indispensable for actors here. ### 5/5 — I just scored a job and I owe it to Actor Genie ! *2010-09-28, version 0* I am a working actor, and I heard about Actor Genie Audition on Facebook. It being a free app, I took the bait and downloaded it. I immediately became a fan, not only of the production and casting information that is constantly updated, current and accurate, but I am now addicted to a special feature called "Todays Take," which presents a pertinent question and answer from an industry professional like, Brett Ratner, Neil LaBute, Mark Ruffalo, Julietete Lewis, Leelee Sobieski, etc. I got addicted to the info and so upgraded to the pro version, which provides contact info for every casting director, agent and manager in NY & LA. I had spent way more then the one time buy of $9.99 on numerous other subscriptions and books. Now If I'm on my way to an audition, I can map my way there. My favorite part of the directory is that it lists all the associates and assistants names, information that is usually omitted from other directories. I think this information is vital since it is the assistants and associates who are most often responsible for initial contact with developmental actors and they are all future casting directors, agents and managers. But, the very best part of my new acquaintance with Actor Genie is it has already helped me score an job! I saw a cool indie film called The Artist listed in the casting directory and called my agent. He submitted me for the project, I got the audition and a part! I'm working three days opposite the lead actors and John Goodman! ### 5/5 — How to navigate Hollywood *2010-09-19, version 0* Really useful and well organized. It's like a subscription to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, but all on your iphone. Great for keeping up with upcoming film and TV projects.
