### 1/5 — Terrible New App

*2026-08-06, version 1.0.6*

This new AcuRite app is a joke of an upgrade. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The dramatic reduction in data available on this app compared to the My Acurite is a disservice to their customers. If you are thinking about getting an AcuRite product for data, don’t. The AcuRite team better think twice before disabling the older app. DO NOT sunset the old app until this new app has the same amount of data or more. There is no separate iPad app and the layout is terrible.

### 1/5 — What a terrible app

*2026-08-05, version 1.0.6*

Title says it all.

### 1/5 — AcuRite go back to the old app NOW!

*2026-08-05, version 1.0.6*

The owners of AcuRite should be ashamed of themselves. This 'new and improved' app has so many issues. The weather history appears to not even be for my weather station. Got a half inch of rain and the logs show zero. Similar errors with the wind speed. Also looks like it was written by a first year programming student.

### 2/5 — Wish I could go back to old app

*2026-08-04, version 1.0.6*

It use to be great to know where all my sensors were located, with this new app I can no longer name each sensor. Maybe it will be fixed in the near future.

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2026-08-04, version 1.0.6*

AcuRite NOW is TERRIBLE! Graphing does not work. Time of day is off. No forecasting.

### 1/5 — Go back to MyAcurite!

*2026-08-04, version 1.0.6*

Junk…
Ok so AcuRite figured out that they can’t scale to hold a year of data and want some $$ to support their cloud storage.

I’m fine with having MyAcurite and a month of data.

Getting a horrible UX, less features (wind speed can’t even be set to knots), pushing lots of garbage ads like the “mall” is insulting.

Time for a different brand!

### 1/5 — Miss the old app

*2026-08-03, version 1.0.6*

This app is terrible compared to the old My AcuRite app. Taking the old one off the market was a disgrace.

### 1/5 — New is awful

*2026-08-03, version 1.0.6*

The old app worked great. This one is terrible. There is no documentation of error messages. The historical data is not accurate.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-08-03, version 1.0.6*

Take a useful, functional weather app that shows your weather station data at a glance and replace it with useless crapware.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-08-03, version 1.0.6*

This app is no where near as good as the app that is being phased out. A lot of data unable to be accessed with the new app.

### 1/5 — worst update ever

*2026-08-02, version 1.0.6*

I have used my acurite for years and bought several iterations of their weather products. Updating to this app is a disaster. nothing works and i paid the monthly subscription. data to weather underground…. gone. app is useless. nothing works properly. Will be looking for another vendor and weather station. Would have given zero rating. the my pws app is much better but used the data uploaded from my acurite. Don’t upgrade to this app.

### 1/5 — Don’t like it

*2026-08-02, version 1.0.6*

I like old app and should be left alone. New app my atla will not connect AT all but yet all my indoor devices did. But I don’t know which my indoor device is which because they all listed same name. App itself is glitchy as well as confusing to use. Shouldn’t have to make us leave our old app.

### 1/5 — Non-functional and clunky

*2026-08-01, version 1.0.6*

Was told to switch to this app by Acurite. While my system connects flawlessly, the data seems untrustworthy. Additionally, all trend data shows zero for all parameters including temperature, pressure, and rainfall. It wasn’t made clear, but it seems like this data is not being recorded on this app’s server.

Further, this app seems to be purpose built for having many sensors. I have one Acurite Atlas and it is given tiny screen real estate. All widgets are swipe-controlled and designed so poorly as to be completely unreadable and useless. Only current wind and temperature are clearly visible, but this is a small fraction of sensor data for which I purchased this sensor suite.

Using myAcurite until no longer possible.

### 1/5 — Horrible replacement

*2026-08-01, version 1.0.6*

Another attempt to get into the smart device game. Pretty useless compared to the existing MyACurite app. I monitor temps/humidity and water throughout my home and crawl space. I use the graphing function all the time to check my dehumidifier operation. I’ll keep using the old app and find a replacement for my system when I am forced to use the new app.

### 1/5 — Awful! Start over by using your previous, user-friendly MyAcuRite as a template!

*2026-07-31, version 1.0.6*

Not user-friendly and glitchy. I can’t even name my sensors.

### 1/5 — Not ready for release

*2026-07-31, version 1.0.6*

AcuRite guided me to install this, but this app is not ready to replace the “My AcuRite” app. It is nearly non functional in any way. The app fails to retain my sensor names, has no usable sensor data, and zero trend data. If you’re going to tell your customers to “move to this new app”, at least get the new app baseline functional. As it currently stands, this app is unusable.

### 1/5 — Complete and total failure to connect

*2026-07-30, version 1.0.6*

I’m a software engineer. My stack includes C#, JavaScript, amongst various cloud certificates and endless work with APIs.

Why take a functional product and replace it with a tool that inherently fails to function. There is no ability to connect to the device through this app, meanwhile the old app functions perfectly well. Though there are features missing from the old app, at least it’s not EVERY feature falling to function.

This is what happens when you vibe code a product and are dumb enough to publish it. Take the loss, and remove this app from the App Store indefinitely. Or face the wrath of a class action. People depend on their devices for survival. Think twice before you remove their critical paid infrastructure before your negligence hurts someone, or worse.

### 1/5 — Too Bad I Can’t Rate This Lower

*2026-08-10, version 1.0.6*

Awful awful piece of rubbish app. Can’t get it to work with my Acurite Atlas. This thing wants to be an all around home control app and has forsaken the one thing they were good at — weather stations. I try to add my Atlas into Now and it won’t see the outside sensor even though the app, does see the bridge device on the network.

I was dumb and deleted the MyAcurite app from my iPad before I had Now working. Certainly regretting that mistake. Luckily I still had MyAcurite on my phone, but I can’t get the Weather Underground reporting working.

What the heck are you doing, Acurite? Why have you forsaken us?

When I first bought the Atlas, I had it working in under 30 minutes after hardware installation. At this point, I’ve spent 14 hours banging against this trying to get it working again. The only reason I fiddled with it in the first place is that I moved.

This thing is hours away from going in the trash and I’ll buy something else from someone else.

Hate hate hate this new app. Hate it.

### 1/5 — Vibe coded trash

*2026-08-10, version 1.0.6*

There is no way to name sensors, the graphs look terrible and are now tiny and unhelpful. Real disappointment. After several months, the developers have made zero improvements.

### 1/5 — Good first attempt.

*2026-08-10, version 1.0.6*

App seems to have many bugs. Does not provide detailed information as previous app. Does not seem to be focused on users needs.

### 1/5 — This app SUCKS!!!!!!

*2026-08-09, version 1.0.6*

This app is terrible! My Acurite is so much better and will use as long as I can then get a whole new system. With new app I can’t set home location and help screens tell me to go to Me screen and select Home Management but that is not an option. All I have on Me screen is devices and sensors- can’t be much worse that getting instructions you can’t even follow - What a POS!!!!!

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2026-08-08, version 1.0.6*

Tried to use the app and it is unable to find my weather station about 100’ away. I would give a minus stars if possible. What a horrible downgrade. I purchased a different station and have removed the device and app. Very poor change to what was a really good station and app.

### 1/5 — Sometimes newer isn’t better

*2026-08-08, version 1.0.6*

Simply stated, the previous app My AcuRite is hands-down better and provides more information. If that same capability is not migrated to this new app I will look for a different weather station and platform, even though I have been with AcuRite for over 20 years.

### 1/5 — Weather Station good

*2026-08-07, version 1.0.6*

App is total garbage it looks like you tried to make it do everything so now it does nothing.

### 1/5 — Difficult

*2026-08-07, version 1.0.6*

The new app doesn’t have near the information as the old one. I am changing to another system that is easier to deal with

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-08-07, version 1.0.6*

Replaced a pretty good app with a completely terrible one. Appears to only be for mobile devices but nothing for desktops.

### 1/5 — App

*2026-08-06, version 1.0.6*

This new app sucks it’s missing information doesn’t show all the info from the old app. My rainfall is way off compared to old app. There’s extra steps to get to my weather station instead of my station being the main thing when you open it. It doesn’t show the local predicted weather forecast. My lighting sensor doesn’t show up. I might have to get a different brand weather station if they don’t fix this app.
Overall really unhappy, using old app until they stop it

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — More information

*2026-06-27, version 1.0.6*

Depending on what sensors are available, they will be on the new App. I just upgraded to the new Optimus that puts out more detail.

### 5/5 — Great app for a great product

*2026-04-22*

Living in a remote rustic cabin we find ourselves fighting with the temperature in our house more than you’d think. It’s especially tough not knowing what we’re coming home to when we travel as we don’t have anything to help us monitor remotely - until now. The app was easy to download and to connect the device (and I’m not tech savvy one bit). I love the readings and highly recommend this product and app

### 5/5 — 5⭐️! So handy!

*2025-07-14*

I’ve used Acurite weather stations on and off for years and I have to say the new app is super handy! I love it. Being able to check MY air temps, winds, and humidity vs relying on generalized information you get from other sources is so nice! And having it on my phone and easily accessible is even better. Even when I was traveling I was able to see what it was like back home. 5⭐️!

### 5/5 — Easy app

*2025-07-14*

This was such an easy app to setup and use the AcuRite weather station. Way better than other brands I’ve used or even AcuRite sold app. Can’t wait to do more smart home stuff with it 👍

### 5/5 — The best Acurite has offered to date!

*2025-07-04*

I was a beta tester for the Optimus. Once the beta testing was complete and the device was made available for the public to purchase, I was given a new unit with the new display. This was my first time using the AcuRite NOW application. It was very straightforward, easy to understand, and set up was completed in less than five minutes.

### 4/5 — Great product, great idea, but needs some work.

*2025-09-15*

The AcuRite Optimus is an amazing weather station. It works exactly as it’s supposed to, gives great data, updates fairly frequently, and is pretty accurate! However, the AcuRite NOW app is not as perfect as the station. One bonus is that the setup was very easy, but there are quite a few bugs. When trying to see rainfall totals, I saw that it doubled what I saw on the display for a year, and seemed to have just randomly added 0.10 inches for the 48-hours counter. (It said 0.78 when it was actually 0.68) I agree with another review which said that this app seems to not be meant for the weather enthusiast, and maybe more meant for a smart home user or someone who likes a simple app. I think people would really enjoy the Optimus finally supporting Weather Underground, so I’m hoping that when that comes, most of these problems will be solved! But overall, great product.

### 3/5 — Worst App Upgrade EVER!!!

*2026-08-09, version 1.0.6*

I cannot figure out how the AcuRite app developers think this is an improvement from the “old” app. AcuRite NOW sees only 1 of 3 of my devices and it shows a rogue device that isn’t part of my weather tracking system (I would know more if the new app recognized my custom device names instead generically naming the devices). And the graphs in NOW are void of visual markers and are overall worthless. If AcuRite decides to force all of their longtime customers/users to a massively inferior product, I will be the first to trash my devices and find another company. There are plenty out there.

### 3/5 — Still Not happy

*2026-07-31, version 1.0.6*

I am getting used to it after a few months. Still, I don’t understand why Chaney thinks that it is a good idea to create an app that only works in vertical mode on a cell phone for an aging population whose eyesight will only worsen. I resent that they are taking away the web-based app. The charts are difficult to read and appear to be based on GMT using Military time. I have to calculate 13 hours backwards from my location to get the data for an earlier time. I understand that they want to enroll everyone in a subscription for better profits, but I suspect it will hurt them in the long run. As my equipment ages and dies, I’ll look elsewhere for replacements rather than returning to Chaney.

Please don’t eliminate the beautiful functionality of your current app.

### 3/5 — Old app is WAY better

*2026-07-30, version 1.0.6*

I’m not liking the new app it doesn’t give you in depth detail such as your charts for (rain, temp, wind, etc). Also it said the low was -40 which is impossible bc I live in the eastern US where low temps in summer usually get around the low 60’s. Hopefully it’s just a glitch but, as far as features, appearance, and accessibility I really wish they could stick to the old app.

### 3/5 — Not ready for prime time!

*2026-06-24, version 1.0.6*

I have multiple temperature/humidity sensors all over the house. There’s no way in the app to name them or tell which is which.
