### 2/5 — Might be ok if they didn't ask for a review every 15 seconds

*2026-06-18, version 4.1.12*

When will they learn that asking for a review immediately after Installing an app for the first time makes absolutely no sense!

How does one review anything without ever using it before?

So because it was hard to navigate the app without being bothered by the 'review pop-up' here is your review!

STOP ASKING FOR A REVIEW IMMEDIATELY AFTER DOWNLOADING AN APP!

### 2/5 — Great Interface- Alerts never work.

From a usability standpoint, love virtually everything about the app, it’s fairly easy to use and intuitive. I do hate the fact that there is no way to see your payment/account information in the app- instead you have to log onto the actual website. My biggest issue however has to do with notifications.

For over two years I’ve worked with various tech-support folks from ACV in an attempt to get notifications working on my iPhone/iPad. It seems to be a problem across the board as a various employees have also struggled with a lack of consistent notifications. (Mainly notifications when vehicles that fit certain search criteria/parameters are listed and up for auction)

Randomly, they will work for about a day or two, and then won’t for months on end. This results in missing various vehicles that we would like to bid on. No one can seem to find a solution. Very unfortunate- especially because when the notifications work, it’s a great system. It’s a shame that ACV can’t find app developers to fix this issue as I imagine it’s hurting business- we personally have missed out on hundreds of cars due to not being notified that they were up for auction. OPENLANE (similar platform) has much more reliable notifications.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Honest opinion

*2026-08-26, version 4.1.18*

ACV is the worst thing to ever happen to the auto industry. Prices are over inflated. They only care about the sellers. All auctions are on the sellers side. Without a buyer there couldn’t be a seller. ACV is slowly crippling all used car dealers. With these bs inspection reports. Also the inspectors are not even car guys lol?

As a licensed automotive dealer, my experience with ACV Auctions has been extremely disappointing.

I purchased a vehicle through ACV based on the condition report, photographs, and representations provided in the auction listing. When the vehicle arrived, it had significant issues that were either not disclosed or not reasonably visible in the listing materials. After documenting the problems and requesting assistance, ACV refused to stand behind the condition report or provide a satisfactory resolution.

The entire purpose of an online wholesale auction is to give dealers confidence that the information provided is accurate and complete. When that information turns out to be unreliable and the auction company declines to take responsibility, dealers are left absorbing unexpected repair costs and losses.

What concerns me most is not that a mistake may have been made—mistakes happen in every business. The issue is the lack of accountability after the problem was brought to their attention. I expected ACV to review the evidence fairly and honor the representations made in the listing. Instead, my claim was denied, leaving me with little confidence in their buyer protection process.

Based on my experience, I would advise other dealers to thoroughly inspect every ACV purchase and be prepared for the possibility that condition report discrepancies may not be resolved in the buyer’s favor.

I hope ACV improves its dispute resolution process and takes greater responsibility for the accuracy of the vehicles it markets to dealers.

### 1/5 — Dishonest condition reports, fake arbitration, shill bidding

*2026-05-07, version 4.1.9*

I have bought a dozen cars from ACV all green light (no yellow light). Essentially green at ACV means car can drive a few miles before totally breaking down. Of the dozen cars I bought from them, half needed major undisclosed major problems. One with head gasket problem, two with multiple fluid leaks indicating abuse, one with major transmission defects. At least six needed all new rotors and break pads. Ten of 12 cars I bought had less than 100K miles and were 10 years old or younger. Arbitration is a joke. There is always an exception. For them green light does mean anything, car can have green light and leak a bucket of oil a day. Adesa has been major source of vehicles for me. I do physically see the cars before buying. Very few cars I buy there are green lights, despite that my reconditioning costs are much lower than the cars I buy from ACV. Shill bidding at ACV is another issue. No doubt that some sellers are given free hand and even tips about proxy bids.Avoid as if your business success depends on it.

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2026-04-16, version 4.1.7*

Terrible

### 1/5 — Arbitration team!

*2026-03-17, version 4.1.4*

Worst arbitration team I have ever dealt with. They sent me only $500 to cover replacing an engine, including parts, labor, and freight. That amount doesn’t even come close to the actual repair cost. Very disappointing experience.

### 1/5 — Bad version

Can u guy make the old version back pls this one is slow and old

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-01-19, version 4.0.49*

Not working

### 1/5 — Fairness

*2025-12-22, version 4.0.45*

While the platform functions adequately, the exorbitant fees imposed by ACV severely undermine any potential profitability for sellers. These rates are simply not competitive and demand immediate revision, otherwise clients will keep drifting away.

### 1/5 — Scam green light doesn’t mean anything

*2025-12-20, version 4.0.45*

Green light doesn’t mean anything, a car needs transmission marked green and they didn’t wanna unwind it! Scam scam scam!

### 1/5 — Arbitration

*2025-08-21, version 4.0.34*

Arbitration team is terrible. Vehicle was listed with more issues exceeding the price of the vehicle be aware.
