I was unsuccessful. After reading some more on their website, I'm still not sure it was designed to do that. I would appreciate a little more clarity from the developer. It claims to be blocking hundreds of connections every night, but there’s no way to see what was blocked. Seems suspect that more traffic is blocked overnight than when actually using Apple TV… **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. On the Apple TV, you can see the number of ads and trackers that have been blocked by opening the Magic Lasso app and viewing the Insights at the bottom of the Overview screen. This will show you the ads and trackers blocked every hour. Most of the items that Magic Lasso may be blocking are trackers, and a large volume of blocking may indicate an app trying multiple times to access a tracker domain when it is being blocked. So for instance, an app, or even an inbuilt part of tvOS, is attempting to access a tracker, it is blocked, and tries again. This will increase the volume of items shown in the Insights. ### 2/5 — Messes with iOS and my wifi. Useless in NY Times app. *2026-02-08, version 5.1.1* Have lost my text messaging and wifi using this app. Also consistently fails to block ads NY TIMES APP, even using custom settings. Price very high for what it does. ### 1/5 — Still so many issues *2026-01-19* I am constantly having to delete this app, and then try to reinstall it because at least once a week, usually more often, I wake up to it, blocking Internet access to almost every single one of my apps. The only fix is deleting it and reinstalling it. Unfortunately this is becoming a major issue and inconvenience, especially while traveling. **Developer response:** As of Magic Lasso Adblock v5.0.4, we resolved the issue where App Ad Blocking may automatically be disabled by the operating system. App Ad Blocking will now automatically restart itself if disabled after app updates and device restarts. To ensure this fix works, after updating the app to v5.0.4, go to Rules > App Ad Blocking and toggle the feature on and off once to apply the new auto-restarting VPN configuration. Also please email us at feedback@magiclasso.co and we can provide support to ensure that the app works on your devices if you are still having issues with the app not blocking ads or if it interrupts your internet connection (which it shouldn't do). ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-01-09, version 5.0.4* I cook and like to follow along to YouTube videos the ads pop up at the worst time. I do not use the YouTube app I use safari. This does 0 ad blocking on YouTube. Don’t waste your money. I have noticed ads blocked on regular pages. If you specifically are looking for YouTube it doesn’t work. I googled to see if I was missing something. All google searches return how great this is. Why? Not supposed to be a solid product? **Developer response:** Magic Lasso blocks all ads in Safari and many ads in other apps, via the App Ad Blocking feature, when used on an iPhone or iPad.
