## What is additem.to?

You have stuff. You can't always find it, remember who borrowed it, or prove you own it when it matters. additem.to fixes that.

Scan with AI to add things in seconds. Point your camera at an item and additem.to suggests its name, brand, model, category and more - it even fills in your own custom fields and picks a matching template. Already tracking something but missing its details? Scan it again and AI fills in the blanks - serial, model, barcode - and flags anything that looks wrong, so you can tidy up an item in seconds. Photograph a receipt and the shop, price and purchase date are read off it for you - a till receipt or a screenshot of an order confirmation both work. You review every change and nothing is saved until you say so. Your photo is only sent when you choose to scan, and it's never used to train AI models. Everyone gets a few free scans to try it.

Add items with photos, serial numbers, purchase dates, and custom fields. Note where things live. Search when you need to find something. Export a PDF or CSV when your insurer asks for proof.

Item Templates speed things up. Got cameras, tools, or consumables you add regularly? Create a template and the right fields appear pre-filled every time - the rest hidden.

NFC tags make it faster still. Tap a drawer or door to see what's inside - any tag works, including locked and read-only ones. Turn on Tap to Open and tapping a tag opens the item even when the app is closed. Prefer labels? QR codes you generate open items straight from the Camera app, and barcodes work too - scan a product's own code, reuse labels from your old system, or print QR and barcode label sheets at home. All optional.

Lend something out? Log it. additem.to tracks who has what, so you're never that person who can't remember if they gave their drill away or just lost it.

I found this home inventory app while scrolling Reddit, trying to find anyone who had a better way than just an excel spreadsheet and some pictures. Saw this, saw that it was a developer working on this in their spare time, and downloaded to give it a shot. This is exactly what has been missing from the home inventory apps, and I am so thrilled for a good option. I just successfully uploaded my first csv of items to the app, and it is glorious. I am so stoked, and will definitely look for ways to support this developer. Privacy for my items is a big deal to me, and this app seems to check off everything on my list. Very happy so far.

Local Only Mode.

Not everyone wants an account, AI, or cloud sync. Local Only Mode takes all three out of the app.

Sign-in, AI scanning, cloud sync and sharing all disappear, and the app stops connecting to our servers at all - not just the buttons, the connections themselves.

Everything else is untouched. Items, photos, locations, tags, NFC, QR codes, reports, import and export work exactly as before.

It is free, on every tier, and you can turn it off whenever you like.

Already syncing? Switching over uploads anything still waiting, then copies your full size photos onto the phone first, so you keep the originals rather than the thumbnails.

Settings is tidier too: a proper Privacy section, and Recently Deleted now sits with the inventory it belongs to.

### 3.4.1 — 2026-08-12

Import fixes, mostly.

Bulk editing by reimport no longer needs the Name column. Keep the ID and whatever you are changing, and that is enough.

If an import is going to delete items, it now says so before it runs, and tells you how to stop it.

Prices written the European way, like 45,00 in a semicolon separated file, now import correctly.

If an import cannot finish, it explains why and confirms that nothing was changed.

Also: the AI scan screens now mention you can photograph a receipt, and VoiceOver reads out which photo type is selected.

### 3.4.0 — 2026-08-09

Buy something, photograph the receipt, done.

additem.to can now read receipts. Point the camera at one and it picks out the shop, the price and the date for you to check. It works when you add something new and when you want to fill in an item you already track. If a receipt has several things on it, just pick the line you need.

There is also a new photo type picker on the scan screen. Tell the app you are photographing a label, a manual or a box and the AI reads it with that in mind. Leave it on Auto and receipts are spotted for you. Scanned photos are saved with their type and a short caption written by the AI. The item report can now filter photos by type and print captions too, which is handy for insurance.

Also in this update:
- Creating and working through pick lists feels smoother
- Big CSV imports are much faster. 20,000 items now import in seconds and the progress bar keeps up
- Sync is steadier for very large inventories

Free accounts include AI scans, so go and find that drawer full of receipts.

Photos grew up in this update.

Give any photo a type - receipt, condition, manual, box, label or document - so the right shot is easy to find when it matters. Set it in the viewer, or touch and hold a photo in the grid for quick actions: cover, type, delete.

The full-screen viewer is new too. Swipe between an item's photos, zoom right in, share or save the full-quality image, and add captions - handy for noting where you bought something or which receipt covers it.

With Pro Cloud, photo types and captions sync across your devices and the web app.

Nothing new to tap this time - this update is all under the hood. We laid the plumbing so a photo's type (receipt, manual, box or label) can sync across your devices, ready for a future update, and finished a round of behind-the-scenes clean-up to keep everything feeling solid.
