### 2/5 — Still has a way to go

*2025-08-17, version 1.7.2*

The support link doesn’t work, I continue to get a sync error, and there is no way to change my address. 🤔😒🤷

### 3/5 — Great… Needs work

*2025-06-01, version 1.4.6*

The ADFG app should allow opt-in push notifications for emergency orders.

### 2/5 — Great idea - poor execution

*2024-07-17*

I love that I can access the regs and get current updates. I love that they try to provide all the information in an app.
But it crashes every time I try to submit a harvest report. I now have an empty report for a day I didn’t fish sitting in it that I can’t do anything with because it crashes every time I try to edit it.
Same with any of the maps. I get an error or the app crashes. Fix the multitude of bugs and crashes and it will be a great app.

### 2/5 — Not commercial fishing friendly

*2024-06-23*

I was hoping that it would be useful to hobby fishermen and career fishermen alike, but was disappointed when I used it. I would like to see commercial announcements, and regs, my permit card (in case it gets dropped), etc.
Probably better if they made a separate app for commercial, unless they could have the information clearly separated on the same app. Seemed like it was quite handy for the sport guys though.

### 3/5 — Wish I could use this app…

*2024-06-05*

…but unfortunately when I created my ADFG account years ago on a desktop computer, I set it to sign in with Google, and I can’t sign into the phone app with Google. Sure would be nice to be able to access my license through the app in case I accidentally leave my wallet it my vehicle. Rating the app a 3 because my husband loves it (5) but it’s useless for me (1).

**Developer response:** Sorry for the inconveniences you're having. If you call the Help Desk they can get you set up with a myADFG sign in instead of a social account. 907-465-2376 or email adfg.license@alaska.gov

### 2/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2024-05-26, version 1.4.0*

Seems intuitive and like a good idea, but it doesn’t work. It won’t import my fishing & hunting license at all. Giving it 2 stars because there’s still some useful information you can access, but other than that, it doesn’t work on an iPhone 15 pro max running iOS 17.5.

### 4/5 — I legitimately love this app

*2023-07-21*

I know I rated it 4 stars, and I’ll get into why, but I legitimately love this app. I love that the troopers count the app as proof of a license when fishing and dipnetting so you no longer need paper copies or duplicates or have to worry about them getting wet. As long as your phone has charge and turns on, you’re good to go. Same for the hunting license. My only complaint, really more of a hopeful suggestion, is that hunting draw tag information isn’t imported so you still need to carry paper tags for any hunts that aren’t general season tags. I’d love for that to be an added feature in the future. Aside from that, the ease of reporting fishing, dipnetting, and general season hunt results - even when offline - is so nice! Solid work by ADF&G.

### 1/5 — Not worth your time.

*2023-06-18*

I’ve tried multiple times to get this app to workover the last year plus and it’s a waste of time. First they ask you to login in using your my alaska or fish and game login. I use my Alaska and it tells me I need to create a fish and game login then it tells me I already have an account with fish and game and to use the recovery tool to login. Apparently it’s linked to my Facebook account and it’s clearly not. I would never link this to Facebook and when I try to log in through Facebook it tells me no account is registered under my name or Facebook. The only way I can get a fishing license online is if I sign in as a guest on the website. Seems like an absolute miss for someone who was born and raised in Alaska. As an Alaskan we should only need one login to access what we need to do through the states websites.

**Developer response:** Hello, Sorry for the struggle to sign in. We are working to improve the sign in process. For now you can call or email us so we can help you create/sign in your account. 907-465-2376 or adfg.license@alaska.gov

### 2/5 — Could be a great app but can’t log in

*2023-06-06, version 1.1.2*

I have tried to log in several times and keeps coming up with errors

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2023-05-31, version 1.1.1*

Seems like a good idea but my myAlaska login fails every time at the GIS data sync.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2023-05-06*

As noted by other reviewers, you can’t login in with myAlaska if this system finds you have a myADF&G account. When one enters the info to recover the myADF&G account the app hangs at the click of the Google button. A recommendation would be to have an option to skip login so as to at least have access to the regs. Another disappointing attempt by the state to bring itself up to speed with technology.

**Developer response:** Hi, We would love to hear more about your struggles to sign in. You can reach us at:

### 2/5 — Login issues

*2023-04-07, version 1.1.1*

I have been unsuccessful of logging in on this app. I have no issues using the online web, but the app does not allow me to login

### 1/5 — Tide Charts

*2023-03-21, version 1.1.1*

The very best feature that this app “use to have” was the “Tide Charts” for all of Ak. It was the one place you could go for all your fishing info and needs. But someone decided to remove it and now I barely ever open the app.

### 1/5 — Never ending loop

*2022-10-02*

I initially used Google to sign into their website, get my license, etc. Now that I have their app, but it’s incompatible with those login credentials. The “find account” tool indicates I have no account on file, but when I attempt to “create a new account” the app won’t allow me because it says I have an account on file and I’m redirected to sign in. A fix for this would be nice!

**Developer response:** You can only use the Google login through the computer. The app will only take a login for MyADFG or myAlaska. Please contact us and we can help you get a MyADFG account to login to the app 907-465-2376 or e-mail us at adfg.license@alaska.gov

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2022-09-24, version 1.0.05*

Still cannot use myGoogle to log in.

### 1/5 — Nope

*2022-09-11, version 1.0.05*

Keeps saying it is sending an email to confirm my email is correct. It never shows up, not in my inbox, junk, spam anywhere. Totally useless.

### 2/5 — Nice when works

*2022-08-10, version 1.0.05*

The app is great and useful when works. The app will randomly log me out and then I am unable to log back in. This has happened several times now.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2026-07-28, version v1.13.3+3433*

Overall the app is bad. Clunky and not easy to navigate. Always difficult to sync your info to the app as well.

### 1/5 — Barely functional

*2026-07-09*

I’m glad this app exists but only to hold on to a digital copy of my license. It has numerous problems including several critical bugs and design flaws: 1) it crashes repeatedly, 2) the button for recording harvest doesn’t work, and 3) it requires you to add birthdate, phone number, and other PI even if it already recognizes your account. I could build a better app than this one!

### 1/5 — Helpful trash

*2025-08-24*

Everything about how this app functions is flawed. Long load times, constant error messages, not syncing with your account to update any tags, harvests not properly recorded, can’t download any of the maps, can’t pull up any of the regs unless your on good WiFi. This app has potential and if it works as advertised it would be great to have. However it doesn’t, but…. I still have it for electronic proof of licensing and tags.

All in all.. download it, but don’t count on it working.

### 1/5 — Waste of Time

*2025-08-05*

To be fair, the app may actually work ok. However, I’d never know because it proves to be impossible to login with an existing account, or to make a new account. The app is also unstable and entertained me by throwing error codes or just hanging in login screens. The fact that the app is rated 2.6 out of 5 might be a good indicator that the State should start over and hire some competent developers.

**Developer response:** Hi, We would love to hear more about your struggles to sign in. You can reach us at:

Your feedback is important to helping us build a better app!

### 1/5 — Unusable

*2025-07-31, version 1.7.2*

The app is unusable because it’s impossible to sign in. The identity provider sign in fails to respond. A complete waste of taxpayer dollars.

### 1/5 — Very little functionality

*2025-07-03, version 1.4.6*

The app does not provide any added benefit to us citizens because of the limitations it has.

### 1/5 — Clunky and glitchy

*2025-03-03, version 1.4.4*

Had to delete app and redownload to get my new 2025 licenses to appear. Before it showing me an error (for 3 months). They now appear but took an unnecessary step.

### 1/5 — Unusable trash

*2024-12-05, version 1.4.4*

Does not let me log

### 1/5 — Didn’t work

*2024-07-09, version 1.4.0*

It wants to log in with a secondary app and this can’t be bypassed. The secondary app doesn’t work. Just went in circles with this a few times and decided printing my license was easier.

### 1/5 — Would not allow me to create a account

*2024-01-08, version 1.2.1*

Put in all the information they asked for and clicked the submit button just for the app to take me back to the page where I put my information into app is completely useless to me at this moment

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — BEST GAME IVE EVER PLAYED

*2026-02-15, version 1.9.1*

I’m thinking about devoting my life to this game because it’s so fun and competitive I’ll always keep this game in my heart forever and I’m thinking about divorcing my wife to get better at this game I LOVE YOU ADFG!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😻

### 5/5 — Great App, just needs more improvements!

*2025-09-06*

Hi,

I seriously recommend more push notifications and reminders through the app informing fishers and hunters of harvest and season end dates. Additionally, posting those with each license/permit as an easy reminder.

I have enjoyed the ease of use this app offers and the collections of tags/permits that can be loaded digitally.

### 5/5 — Works great so far

*2022-07-16*

Got my license, king tag, and personal use permit through ADFG website using myAlaska login. I then logged Into this app using myAlaska login, and it was seamless and transparent. All my current year’s stuff shows up, as well as last year’s expired items. Haven’t had any issues reported by others with login or missing information. Pretty cool not having to carry paper around anymore, and that we can record dipnet harvest info right in the app. Looking forward to future updates!

**Developer response:** Thank you! And thanks for trying out our app!

### 5/5 — Best I have used

*2022-05-27, version 1.0.03*

So far this app is working awesome! No issues yet and makes the regulations super easy to navigate! Way better than the website.

### 5/5 — Hobby Fisherwoman

*2022-05-23*

Last year the SO and I were bemoaning the fact that it is so hard to try to figure out the fishing regs based on location, that he should develop an app and sell it to ADF&G. We talked about the features it should have and so on. Well, I just found out it now exists! My first challenge (after signing in twice) was that I have a permanent senior license and I couldn’t figure out how to upload it. So I poked around the “store” of tags and licenses and it is available for “sale” with a zero dollar cost. I entered my info and when the transaction was complete it reflected the original date I got my permanent ID card. Pretty slick! Especially since the physical card is pretty worn.
Looks like it has the right features- time will tell when we go to use it later this year.

**Developer response:** Thank you for downloading our app! We are looking for ways to improve it, so if you have any suggestions please contact us at adfg.license@alaska.gov.

### 5/5 — Outstanding app!

*2022-04-01*

Well done!

This is an easy to use and very intuitive app. I’m in my 50s and didn’t grow up with smart phones and such. This app is easy to navigate and I appreciate the content.

I’m looking forward to the mapping function in fishing.

**Developer response:** Thank you for downloading and using the ADF&G mobile app. It is a great tool to have while enjoying the Alaskan outdoors.

### 5/5 — Very useful, lots of promise

*2022-03-30*

This app is very useful. I like how I can easily access my license electronically. Easy access to the regs is great too. It would be awesome if Emergency Orders and other updates could be accessed via the app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for downloading and using the ADF&G mobile app. This is a newly developed app that will continue to improve over time. You can sign up for Emergency Orders and updated notifications at
WWW.wefishak.alaska.gov

### 5/5 — Just downloaded, not tested fully

*2022-03-29*

Initial impression is really good.
My info, licenses, location all populated easily using my existing MyAlaska ID (same as PFD).
The layout of the app makes sense, navigation is intuitive.
Finally we have an app! I’m interested to see how this works when out of service.

**Developer response:** Thank you for downloading and using the ADF&G mobile app. This is a newly developed app that will continue to improve over time. The app is designed to also work offline.

### 5/5 — Really nice app

*2022-03-23, version 0.8.99*

I like this app. It is simple and has everything I would want. I like the integration of offline maps and info on gmus. Thanks for making a great app.

### 4/5 — Can’t sign in with google on this app

*2024-04-10*

I can’t sign in because I use google to login to myADF&G on my computer. The app doesn’t give this option on an iPhone.
Update;
ADF&G reached out and fixed the problem for me. It is a common problem that they deal with all the time.

**Developer response:** Sorry for the issues. We would be happy to help you login if you email us at adfg.licensing@alaska.gov or call us at 907-465-2376. We are working on updating the sign in process. ADFG Team
