AdLock used to work great with playing YouTube videos. I bought it because it was advertised as “Ad free YouTube”. Now every single YouTube video is blocked from playing in AdLock, with a message from YouTube “sign in to confirm you’re not a bot” (the sign in link doesn’t go anywhere, not that I’m going to sign in to YouTube anyway). This blocking is applied to all YouTube videos, including ones in my AdLock history and favourites which used to work. If AdLock can’t fix this I will get a refund from Apple, false advertising.

AdLock fixed the youtube thing, it now allows you to play videos ad free again. i don’t know about the other usages of this app since i only use it for youtube, hence the -1 star for fairness.

6/1/26 review: no longer working with the ad blocker for youtube. -1 star until it’s fixed! Will try to remember to report back if fixed

I just downloaded this app and was quite excited to test it out. I wanted to try out the personal feature. I saw it costed money but had a free trial, so I started my free trial and went to try the feature and the exact same message from before I started the free trial kept popping up instead of allowing me to use the feature. I closed the a few times, restarted my phone, and for a second, I thought the payment to start the free trial hadn’t gone through, so I attempted to do it again but a message promptly came up saying I was already subscribed. I’m not sure if this is a glitch or something, but it should probably get checked out.

Wanted to stop ads on ESPN so down loaded the app, turned on the extensions as instructed and went to the espn web site. Very first video I tried to play did nothing.  It never loaded and never played. I closed the browser and reset everything. Went back to espn and tried again. Same result. The circle of death just continued to spin in the video window. Never loaded, never played. Deleted the app. I guess it does block ads because I never saw an add but also never played the video. Worthless.

It’s a great app. Helps with blocking out advertisements when looking for specific files. Or converting files during school (for classwork to my Chromebook.) though it’s a shame it doesnt block out advertisments outside of my browser. If anyone knows how to do so without premium, it’d be a great help.

I used to use this app daily. It used to work great and was priced reasonably. They recently multiplied the price by 5 and it's gotten less effective at blocking ads. But even if it works as it used to, it's gotten way overpriced.

It blocks certain things in apps from functioning properly so you have to turn it off often, though it is way to strong and more often than not you are turning it off defeating the purpose of an ad blocker, best get adguard it never had and still has none of these issues.

Adds on all platforms, specifically YouTube, are becoming ridiculously frequent and targeted and this app makes that a non-factor. When I put on a YouTube just to listen to, I don want to listen to ads.

導入してしばらくはマニュアルどおりに操作するとアプリが立ち上がり、動画再生できました。
半年ほど前からはこの方法ではアプリが立ち上がらなくなったので、手動でアプリを立ち上げて再生していました。
が、今朝からこの方法でも「この動画は再生できません」と表示されるようになり、YouTube再生では全く使えなくなりました。
有料ソフトですから、ディベロッパーさんの早期の改善対処を望みます。

(追記)↑と、10/23に書きましたが、改善処置が施されたのか、現在は使えるようになっています。
