Imagine asciidoc but developed by temu merchants….. Lacking many features. Overall the UI is not intuitive at all. Trying to do something as simple as switching the editor’s styles from one to the other causes the setting pop out to hang indefinitely. Requiring you to either close the setting pop out and reopen just to switch to another style if you are trying to cycle thru them all to pick one that suits you. **Developer response:** We are sorry that you are having problems with our app. However, we would have preferred if you had first contacted our support team at support@projectwizards.net with your questions. If you would like to try again, please ask support for the public beta version of the upcoming next version. ### 1/5 — Can’t see what I’m typing *2024-08-20* I read the other review on this app before trying it out, and was hoping it wasn’t that bad - but it is. As soon as I start writing any kind of lengthy document, I can’t see what I’m typing because the editor is constantly scrolling to the top of the document. CLI does better than this for writing with asciidoc. **Developer response:** Yes, we’re aware of the scrolling issue in our iOS version. We’re working on reproducing it but haven’t had any luck so far. Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your understanding and patience. ### 1/5 — Definitely not worth $15/month *2024-06-23* I had high hopes for this app as I have been looking for an app for iOS that would allow me to generate and preview Asciidoc files. Some of the things I really like about this app are: - The preview of the document that I am working on - Spell checking of the document - Organization of the project into a folder and automatic addition of the media folder - Creation of a config file that defines how the rendered docs look What I don’t like about this app: - Spell check would underline correctly spelled words and would not give me any suggestions for why it was saying the word was wrong - Document would scroll to the top whenever I attempted to move through lines using the arrow keys on the Apple Magic Keyboard for the 12.9 iPad (closing and re-opening the app resolved this) - The automatic creation of .iCloud files. I don’t use iCloud for my docs but instead use a repository where I can get revisions and manage the files like code. I would like to have preferred an option to turn this off. All of these issues could be worked around as they are not deal breakers for the most part. What made them a deal breaker is having to pay $15/month or $150/year for an app that is unpolished, has bugs and forces the use of a service I do not care to use as I have other cloud storage options that I prefer over to iCloud. One time payment of $15, maybe I would just buy it and find ways to make things work. Continual payment for an app that behaves like this one does, not a chance. I’m instead making due with Textastic for the document editing and Working Copy for the git workflow management. It’s not the perfect solution but they are a one time cost and I can work around the issues and wants that these applications lack. **Developer response:** Thank you for your detailed feedback. Das mag für Poweruser noch akzeptabel sein, für gelegentliches editieren jedoch etwas übertrieben. Man sollte bedenken das unter iOS das Tool nicht mehr ist wie ein Reader da das Editieren eher selten vorkommt. **Developer response:** Vielen Dank für Ihr Feedback! Das Abo-Modell hilft uns, die laufenden Kosten zu decken und die App langfristig für alle Plattformen verfügbar zu halten. Wir verstehen aber auch, dass der Preis je nach Nutzungsverhalten unterschiedlich empfunden wird. ### 4/5 — Sicher gut - aber Abo und zu teuer *2025-07-16* Ich habe mir das Programm zum Testen geladen und kann weder am Konzept, noch an der Bedienung noch am Nutzen etwas gravierendes aussetzen. Und ja, es würde nahezu perfekt für meinen Bedürfnisse passen, aber der Bezahlmodus als auch der Preis schrecken mich ab. A) Abo, keine Volllizenz B) Höhe des Abos an sich In Relation zu anderen, umfangreicheren Programmen, wie z.B. die Affinity Suit oder auch z.B. Softmaker Office, etc. halte ich 99,-/Jahr für nicht realistisch. Max. 4,- bis 5,- EUR/mtl. oder einmalig 99,- EUR (Dauerlizenz) ohne Abo wären aus meiner Sicht angemessen. Wie dem auch sei, ansonsten ein qualitativ gutes Programm. ### 5/5 — Besser als Word *2026-04-30* Ich bin sehr begeistert über die Arbeit mit adoc-Studio, weil man sich aufs Schreiben konzentrieren kann und viele Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten hat. - Das Schreiben und Exportieren geht sehr einfach. - Am Anfang muss man etwas Energie in ein eigenes Layout per css und adoc-Kürzeln investieren. Ich habe dazu eine KI genutzt und mir zB ein Kasten-Format mit abgerundeten Ecken und einer Überschrift auf der Linie zu bauen. - Auch meine SnipBooks kann ich direkt als html speichern. - Die Anleitungen sind gut aber eher etwas zu viele unterschiedliche unzusammenhängende Dateien. Gegenüber Word, in dem man sehr WYSIWYG gestalten kann ist die Arbeit in adoc etwas abstrakter aber letztlich viel leichter bei viel besserem HTML und Layout. ### 5/5 — einfach gut ! *2025-08-01* Ich schreibe Anleitungen bisher mit MS Word, weil man da WYSIWYG gestalten kann. Leider ist vor allem die HTML- Ausgabe sehr schlecht. Jetzt habe ich adoc Studio ausprobiert und bin begeistert: ich kann mit einfachen Steuerzeichen formatieren und sehe sofort das WYSIWYG Ergebnis daneben. es gibt viele vorformatierte Möglichkeiten, wie Hinweise oder Codeblöcke Module können eingefügt werden, auch als bedingte Texte Insgesamt tolle Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten und eine UI für flüssiges Arbeiten. **Developer response:** Vielen Dank für das Feedback! Selten eine so ausgereifte Software erlebt - wobei wer deren andere Produkte kennt, wundert sich nicht 😉 adoc Studio ist einfach und intuitiv zu bedienen. Ich erhalte meinen Text auf Knopfdruck im gewünschten Format - egal ob PDF, HTML oder beides. Endlich muss ich mich nicht mehr mit dem Terminal rumärgern!
