Rather, you have to go to an entirely separate app (Google home) to see who’s at the door and it doesn’t ring to the adt panel. I spent TWO HOURS on the phone trying to solve a simple problem: a sensor is broken and needs to be replaced. I wasn’t asking for anything free. I repeatedly told them I was willing to PAY for a new sensor. Just sell me the equipment so the security system I already pay you to monitor actually works. Apparently, that is too complicated for ADT. Instead, I spent nearly two hours being walked through a scripted troubleshooting process and repeatedly told to replace a battery. I am not an idiot. I know the difference between a dead battery and broken hardware. The sensor is malfunctioning. After two hours, what did ADT accomplish? Absolutely nothing. No replacement sensor. No resolution. Their answer was that I need to wait TWO DAYS and then spend more time on ANOTHER CALL before they will consider replacing equipment I already offered to purchase. This is a security company. When part of a home security system fails, resolving it should be one of the most basic things they do. Instead, their support system seems designed to waste customers’ time while preventing anyone from applying common sense. I am now actively shopping for a completely new security system. ADT turned a simple broken sensor into a reason to replace my entire system and take my monthly monitoring business somewhere else. Two hours. Zero resolution. Another call required. Called and ADT unable to figure out how the pics were taken. CSA said multiple times I had taken pics with my phone. The pics clearly state the panel and a three digit number next to it that correlates with my panel number. Still unresolved on their end. It's goes off up to a month ### 5/5 — Latest Update Broke Notifications *2026-07-30, version 5.13.9* UPDATE: Seems to have resolved itself. With the most recent update, I started getting ADT Control app push notifications whenever any door with a sensor is open or closed. That typically only happens when left open for 30 mins or more. Also started getting notifications when motion sensors are triggered that read, for example, "Downstairs motion detector left open", which doesn't make sense. This started happening out of the blue this week after updating this app, and I can’t find any setting in the ADT Control app to disable these activity notifications.
