Crashes constantly. Setting schedules for your smart thermostat is such a headache. The user interface is not intelligent whatsoever. I only use this app because I have no other choices since my apartment has this built into it. If it was up to me, I would 100% never use a hub system like this for smart home device devices. ### 1/5 — New bug fix…. The only option inside our condo is to have iotas. It is a nightmare. It hasn’t worked correctly since day one. Constant connectivity issues. I know of three separate occasions that an iotas professional had to come out to our building to troubleshoot issues that affected everyone. This is the future. Thousands of dollars to turn a light switch on or off and it can’t even do it right. And when I do sign in, it shows that it’s trying to accept my password and I have to foreclose the app, reopen it for it to work. It does it every time I try to navigate the app. It also will randomly switch my thermostat to a different temperature. It will also turn it off when it’s never to be turned off. I have pets in my home. I need my thermostat and lights to be working for them as well when I’m away at work. ### 1/5 — I would give zero if I could *2023-08-27, version 2.18.5* Always stuck at the log in page. Have to install and uninstall multiple times to get it work. Then after a couple day, it will sign me out again. I’d have to repeat it multiple times in order for it to at some point register. Completely useless. Whatever your name is IOTAS or ADT, this whole system is complete trash. Barely works half the time for the last two years I’ve had this thing. For a commercial “smart” home hub + app combo, the building management would’ve been better off using something like Hubitat or an Apple TV as a smart home hub, for what I’d imagine to be less money to implement than this piece of e-waste. ### 1/5 — App does not work *2025-01-29, version 2.19.2* For some reason my app worked for a semester and then over break, SOMETHING must have happened cause the app crashes every time I open it. I’m sick right now and I can’t move to turn off my lights and I have a 9:30 tomorrow. Half of the time the commands you do on the app. Don’t actually get transferred over to your devices. Hub is off-line almost more often than it is online. Customer service for this app is extremely slow and it can take around three weeks to have your problem resolved after you first contact them. this app is absolutely not worth the headache, but my apartment complex charges us a technology fee and forces us to use this. This app almost never allows me to unlock my home from my phone and hasn’t allowed me to change my AC in a long time. Now it won’t even open all the way into the app. It’s literally always something with this app. At this point I’d much rather have a physical key, and physically get up to adjust the AC. ### 1/5 — Crashes *2024-12-10, version 2.19.2* Since the last update the app immediately closes when I try to open. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Awesome Customer Support!!!! *2019-04-14, version 1.6.2* My iotas functionality stopped working with the Alexa software and was not able to connect back after an upgrade.Upon reaching out to resolve the issue, I met Leslie who was fantastic at her job and treated the entire call with care. The dedication to fix the issue was shown and acted upon during a follow up call with a technician (Gregg) They made the troubleshooting easy to understand and basic while being respectful of time and it made the frustration subside! It’s nice to be able to control the thermostat and lighting from my phone. It will be interesting to see how the app improves over time. ### 3/5 — Usually works, but could be much better *2024-12-09, version 2.19.2* The app has an annoying sign out behavior where if you open the app, but don’t interact with it for a period of time, it signs you out. The only way to regain access is to force quit the app switcher or input login credentials. This seems like unintended behavior. The app also does not support locking or unlocking doors With Siri or shortcuts. Given that scene currently already integrate with Siri and Shortcuts, it doesn’t seem that hard to extend it to include door locks. ### 3/5 — Dark mode *2021-12-30, version 2.15.2* The app really needs a dark mode. It’s blinding at night when I’m trying to adjust my apartment. ### 3/5 — Buggy and Incompatible *2020-09-19, version 2.4.0* No Apple Home, Siri, or Shortcuts support so you have to launch the app. The app is slow to launch. Routines: If your phone is in 24hr time, setting a routine for a specific time period does not work. Routines stop working for no apparent reason. ### 3/5 — Cool but buggy *2019-11-16, version 1.8.0* This app generally works well, however, I've noticed that the lights don't always work. Sometime I'll turn on and off the light or change the level, and it won't change until I turn the light on and off again in the app. Would be nice if it just worked. The login and password can be reset multiple times and still not work despite being correct. If you try more than thrice it kicks you out.
