It is difficult to find the definitions of and use of words that are either rarely or no longer in use. The Advanced English Dictionary & Thesaurus fulfills this need in my endeavors. With this app, it is hard to hit a dead end searching for a word. It's the most comprehensive dictionary I've ever seen, I haven't to date come across a word that hasn't been in it. I've enjoyed that I don't have to be online to use it, and I've loved for some unfamiliar words, how the Advanced English Dictionary also can give some history of the meaning(s) on the word. Recently, that other dictionary slipped in ads (not very subtle ones, either), &I went from free to charging to get back the ease of use that I expect in my apps. That one is now *gone*, and this AED app is my undisputed king of my dictionary apps. Should be described as 'basic' dictionary, not 'advanced'. The x to clear the search field doesn’t contrast enough with the background. 2. I can’t find a way to copy search results. I listened to the word bustier after I read an article which wrote that it was pronounced boostya. In the advanced dictionary it was pronounced bus - tier sort of like 'That girl is bustier than the other girl.' In fact it is an under garment. ### 4/5 — American pronunciation 'real voice' *2017-05-03* Everything in this app is perfectly fine, but it needs a tab where we can select an accent (hopefully real voices not robots). I can say it’s mostly the best English dictionary app. I have another dictionaries apps are installed on my phone. Many times I do compare with them and always the winner is this app. It doesn’t only provide the meaning. It provide the word in its different phrases, what is related to, collocation, synonyms...etc Additional, the pronunciation. I advise you to have it.
