For the last 5 years it has helped me have many many hours of fun with my grandson. Side by side, hours of fun with just him & I, a notebook and pen for me to take notes- or if it is his time, he can! We listen to a variety of music on our stereo and learn about different music together- we always turn game sounds off - no offense, but this lets me know more about what he is doing. We Star to at 10 years old and are still playing these together now at 15 ! Snuggled up on the couch, nibbling on snacks and enjoying each other! I have jealous friends! It’s clear this is one of their older games, lacking the style of the new releases and making it less entertaining overall. Unlocking chests and the mini games could use some streamlining, I wasted hints because instructions were non-existent, and the gameplay is not very intuitive. Worth a play, if you’re into interactive mysteries and escape style games, but don’t expect the polish of their newer stuff. ### 2/5 — Most disappointing Haiku game yet *2023-08-20, version 1.20* I love Haiku games, but this one is a dud!! It’s very glitchy, you have to restart a level every time you close the game, some items don’t react to the touch screen, and you can’t skip (glitchy) puzzles. Plus, if I hadn’t looked it up, I never would have guessed I needed to shake my phone to get the key in Act 5. Playing this once more gave me a lot of nostalgia, since I remember struggling as a baby riddle solver. Honestly, I also really like the story. Sometimes the puzzles were overly sensitive to any movement and others where I was shaking my iPad to get any movement. Ok, I can deal with that for a couple of puzzles, but by the middle 9f the game all the puzzles required tilting and moving the iPad to beat the puzzle. This may be a measurement of twitch skills, but it didn’t require any puzzle solving skills. I quit midway through, and in hindsight I should have quit right away. What a waste, and it was super frustrating. Unless you like tilting your iPad, then don’t waste your time. I generally like the Haiku Games, but this one is garbage. It really isn’t even worth 1 star, but I gave it 1 star because the story line seemed ok. ### 1/5 — Loved the game until I got to the feet puzzle *2023-03-21, version 1.20* Impossible to be fast enough for this game and there is no option to skip it with stars accumulated. The puzzles are either super easy and dull or they are ridiculous! The hints are a waste of time too as they say things that you already know and aren’t much help even if you use them all. Hopefully this was an early version before they got some decent puzzle writers on board! ### 1/5 — Won’t Open *2022-12-13, version 1.20* I play on an iPad and can’t get this game to open from my home page shortcut or the App Store. It starts with the normal Haiku opening screen followed by a page with an orange header and a gray background, descriptions of other games and a blank white space where the picture should be to the left of the description. I can open all the other Haiku games I’ve tried, just not this one. ### 1/5 — Didn’t work *2022-11-25, version 1.20* Multiple actions required do not work. ### 1/5 — Blatant cheating!!! *2022-05-21, version 1.20* I love a challenging game but don’t appreciate the cheating. Some of the mini games were clearly setting you up to lose. I am big fan of these types of games and have played and won all of them. I have even made in game purchases and don’t mind it if I needed it. However forcing people to lose to get a them to make a purchase is wrong.
