I'm not sure why this genre is so tolerable on iPhone but there it is. That being said, I will be replaying with other characters. It is kind of a style now so there is a lot of chaff out there that looks promising but doesn't pay off. I took a risk on this game and I got my money's worth. It has some slightly grindy bits, but engaging overall. It is not very difficult, at least with the cleric, but I had to come up with combo strategies that worked well together for the boss fights. I go to create a character and every single time when I get everything read it will crash right when I hit create character. Monster battles are constant, monotonous, and repetitive, and every battle grinds on forever. And I can't stand the small rooms and random encounters that you never see coming, as well as the slightly confusing stats. ### 3/5 — Incredible game; horrible ending *2014-06-22, version 1.1* The best items in the game are acquired at the last boss. After you beat the last boss, your save file becomes "a ghost" and you are no longer allowed to play. So you get these amazing items, but never use them. Loved it until this horribly abrupt ending. ### 3/5 — 3rd time I've had to rewrite my review *2014-05-16, version 1.0* But the game just keeps worse. It's never fun when something clearly weaker than you lucks into stunning you 7 times in a row, and definitely not when you nearly killed it. Not really clear how dodge/to hit plays either, because you are stuck at 70-80% hit in most situations, except the ones where you face the aforementioned stun hits, in which case your hit percentage drops to 50%. Not to mention I suddenly dropped into a room full of sand with no way to get out. Had to kill myself (which took considerable effort, go figure) to return to the beginning, only to find the way back accidentally later. Also, the app help went straight to a website with no customer support, no forums, nothing. And the soundtrack was cool for like 2 hours, but not much longer, so your stuck either muting your phone or getting a nose bleed from the repition. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Hands down favorite mobile game *2020-03-06, version 1.3* This is by far one of my favorite mobile games. The challenge level throughout the game is pretty steady, really ramping up towards the lower floors. Some parts of the game are a little unbalanced I think, but maybe im just bad lol. The numbering system is great, you can't rush forward and beat the game in one straightforward run from begging floor to end floor. You also can't farm on the really low floors because of the amount of exp you get.
