### 3/5 — Marked Improvements

*2024-07-08, version 3.0.1*

Gameplay has greatly improved since the update. The game is fun to play and worth your time. However, I gave it only three stars due to some minor nagging niggles:
1. When your life is down to only 1-star, the blinking alert is annoying loud. Just remove that blaring sound.
2. Movements via my Steel Stratus controller aren’t sharp depleting lives and frustrating progression.
Apply these fixes and I’d easily bump the review up +2 stars.

### 3/5 — Good game

*2022-05-28, version 1.1*

Garbage controls for iOS

### 4/5 — Decent Game

*2018-06-03, version 1.1*

It’s a pretty good game with some interesting mechanics but be prepared to throw your phone across the room on some of the later levels. Certain parts will be super easy but certain parts will have you dying 300 times in a row trying to make that one jump.

### 4/5 — Great game would love an update

*2018-01-23, version 1.1*

I really like this game but I fear this game won’t be playable if it doesn’t get updated

### 3/5 — Not Worth The Money

*2017-03-24, version 1.1*

The controls aren't that great. Static or not, they just don't seem to react as well as other games. They're just not good.

The graphics are ok, considering everything in this game is about bits.

The gameplay itself really isn't that spectacular. Usual 2D side-scrolling platformer.

Honestly, I picked this up on sale, and I still feel like I got ripped off. Don't waste your time on money on this.

### 3/5 — Um, it's ok I guess?

*2017-03-23, version 1.1*

Super generic, cut and paste platforming. I really don't get the hype in the reviews. Physics and enemies are super generic. Most enemies walk slowwwwly back and forth. Collision is also super forgiving. One enemy floats in the air, shooting a yellow orb at you every 10 seconds or so. Timed traps give you ample time to flee to safety. Might be a good game for kids 7-10 or so.

### 5/5 — Noice

*2016-12-23, version 1.1*

It's a good game, and way better than other iOS platformers. The levels are a bit repetitive, but the game is worth the cost.

### 5/5 — 5s

*2016-12-21, version 1.1*

Oyun iyi fakat biraz zor goblin sword tarzı 👍🏼

### 5/5 — Platforming at its finest

*2016-11-17, version 1.1*

I just finished this game last night and really enjoyed it from start to finish.

The level design was the star here and though it was tough, it never felt unfair.

Highly recommend this game and hope that there are still plans for a sequel.

### 5/5 — A step above other iOS platformers!

*2016-01-29, version 1.1*

Fantastic graphics and sound, tight controls, charm for days, and lots of polish, topped off by fun game mechanics and excellent level design. I have revised my old three star review to five stars. After paying careful attention, I was finally able to pass a level that was becoming frustrating, and I'm very happy I did. Be warned though...there are tough parts to this game, and it can be demanding. Perseverance pays off in the end! Recommended.

### 4/5 — UI Issues

*2016-01-26, version 1.1*

Great to see the inclusion of MFi controller support, but when using a controller, the on-screen virtual buttons stay on screen! Super annoying. A fix would be awesome, devs!

### 3/5 — just ok

*2015-12-09, version 1.1*

I can't see why all the hype for this game. I went into it I guess with to high of hopes because to me it's just ok nothing great actually kinda dull. great graphics ok controls but the levels are kinda generic. for the price you can find a lot more enjoyable games for a lot less

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2015-12-02, version 1.1*

I've had this game on my wish list for a while and once I saw that it was on sale for 4.99, I quickly bought it. If you like platform games with a fantastic story, then you will enjoy this game. It has way more depth than other games on iOS and I like the fact that you can return to the castle and purchase things and talk to people around the kingdom. Another plus is that every level feels and looks different and gets progressively harder. There are 36 levels and they all take around 7 minutes to beat, so it will take some time to finish this game. It never gets boring though and is worth every
penny.

### 5/5 — AAA quality, worth the money.

*2015-11-29, version 1.1*

Only put about 30 minutes, but can tell it's worth the extra money. A jump the has a floaty landing makes playing on a touch screen much easier. Great music and clever writing. Goes back to playing.

### 5/5 — Get it!

*2015-11-29, version 1.1*

10/10 would recommend. I know it's a little pricey but it has the potential of a console game through the convenience of an iOS app.

### 4/5 — Fabulous Game

*2015-09-14, version 1.1*

This game is a marvel. The graphics are stunning, the levels are well made, and the music is soothing. But, I do think the price could go down. Overall, it's a great game.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2018-09-15, version 1.1*

Not worth the $5 , people really tout the controls, but they aren't that great, the animation, story line and bleak magic and currency reward system add to a unintuitive punishing side scroller without a point or reward.

Truly several attempts to love the game result in guilt for having paid $5 for the game. A chicken sandwich would still feel satisfying.

### 1/5 — Should Have Passed

*2017-01-24, version 1.1*

One more game and more money I should have saved. Too bad they didn't have a demo mode or way to try it for like 15 minutes like Google. Allowing easy refund if it's not to your liking.
Some of the levels of this game just are not fun when im repeatedly trying over and over to get passed some difficult part. A lot of that in this game. If I didn't spend what I did on this mobile game I guess it wouldn't be so bad. But I spent $10 or $15 (buy a lot of apps and can't remember) on a game that is more frustrating than fun. At least for me, at this moment.

### 1/5 — Unnecessarily difficult

*2015-09-20, version 1.1*

Why bother. Sure they fixed the controls but this isn't a game you can "just pick up" casually. Irritatingly difficult at times that punishes you for ever wanting to pick up--then you do because of the great ratings, then put down.

### 1/5 — UPDATE!!! Crashes Instantly.

*2015-07-29, version 1.0*

I've been looking forward to playing Pip.... Now I'm just mad. There should've been an update 2 weeks ago. Fix the games and I might change my rating.

Also, the new $15 price tag is a little ridiculous. $5 was a stretch to begin with.

### 1/5 — Do yourself a favor....

*2015-07-18, version 1.0*

DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!!! Believe all the reviews, the game controls are truly useless. Unless you have small monkey hands, you will have major troubles managing the controls. You will have fun falling into spike pits and casually walking straight into enemies. This game is waaaaaaaaaaaay to overpriced for the quality that you get. Don't be stupid like I was. Save your money! This game isn't worth it!! I hate this game 😃

### 1/5 — Controls are abysmal - Refund requested.

*2015-07-09, version 1.0*

I'd like to get further in this game to give it a real review, but the controls are too frustrating. I'm deleting this and requesting a refund. Also, I'm wondering how many of these 5 star reviews are fake. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — This game doesn't worth this money. L

*2015-07-07, version 1.0*

Boring game and too expensive. Hard to control, Specially when doing the wall-jump. I don't like it. 😔

### 1/5 — Not compatible with iPad Mini 1 because......

*2015-07-06, version 1.0*

This game is a port over from another system, the iPad mini 1 has more that enough processing power for game with these specs.
It's a poor programming error or oversight at best.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2015-07-05, version 1.0*

This game is slow and really bad it dosnt even deserve 1 star the only good part is the story but that's from legend of Zelda save a princess and save a kingdom it is no fun at all u have to save 3 people all the Lvls when I bought this I thought the game play looked smooth it was fun but what I got I could of brought the same amount of gems in clash of clans and had more fun over all if u want to be like me and have wasted money and u get bored easily do not buy this game worst but I ever did I'm so mad at this game

### 2/5 — iPhone X capability

*2018-02-16, version 1.1*

Can we get an update for iPhone X. The in game screen is too small. It doesn’t use the full screen of the iPhone X. I just bought the game but if there isn’t an update soon, I’ll be asking for a refund.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Wow

*2017-11-23, version 1.1*

When you realize you put 5 hours into a game and you beat it, best feeling ever. Good job but could need some bug fixes
Like if you do two midair punches while moving forward the second one cancels your vertical momentum and can allow for a infinite wall climb and you can do super rapid punches and sword swings by canceling them halfway through by landing on the ground or taping the “downgrade” button

### 5/5 — Best. IOS. GAME.

*2017-10-21, version 1.1*

This game has nothing wrong with it at all. It has' that cool retro style graphics, platforming as fun as a Mario Game, and also has a very good story and concept. This game is in a higher class than other games.

### 5/5 — Great, unknown game - share with your friends

*2017-07-21, version 1.1*

I found this game by chance and was pleasantly surprised by it. The controls are great, the game play is great, and the storyline is great too. I liked it so much, I bought the full version. I even reached out to the developer and congratulated him on a great game. I highly recommend it.

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

*2017-07-10, version 1.1*

If I was ign I'd rate it 10/10 amazing game

### 5/5 — Pixel perfect platformer

*2017-05-04, version 1.1*

This is very good, and well worth any price - it's arguably one of the best platform games on iOS. Bags of well-designed levels that can be tackled in short bursts, each with hidden secrets, plus upgrades and boss battles. Throw in a great soundtrack, a silly but charming story and lovely, colourful graphics, and this is really hard to top. Using touchscreen controls can get tricky, as with any game requiring reactions and precision, but this has a lovely pacing and plenty of options to tweak things to your liking. If you have a controller, it's a no-brainer: get it.

### 5/5 — At $1.99 this is a great little game

*2017-03-26, version 1.1*

Fun, challenging but not ridiculously so. Enough online guides to help if you're stuck - all around good game. Seeing reviews of it being $10-$15 game - wouldn't buy at that price, but for $1.99, absolutely.

### 5/5 — Superb

*2017-03-21, version 1.1*

I've spent stupid amounts of $ in the AppStore. This is by far, and without a doubt the best platformer I have bought in the last 5 years.

### 5/5 — Fun!

*2017-03-21, version 1.1*

This game has been so great. Really awesome controls. Worth it!

### 5/5 — I can't find a better game... this is the best of all

*2017-03-20, version 1.1*

If you are looking for an adventure game, a platform game, a puzzle game, a mistery game, an entertainment game, a fast game, a slow game, a zelda kind of game, a Super Mario kind of game, an archade feeling game... a... anyway this is the only game to buy. Seriously

### 5/5 — Best ios game by far

*2017-01-03, version 1.1*

First off the controls are the gold standard for ios games. Many game developers could learn a lot from the implementation of virtual controls with virtual joystick and actual buttons that can be customized by size and screen location. No foolish swiping, tiny fixed buttons, absurd all-screen tapping or pointless automatic running. This game gives you full control of your game character. The levels are infinitely replayable and it's challenging enough to keep you coming back for more. I absolutely love Adventures of Pip and truly hope tictoc games is developing more of this genre and quality. If there's any ios game that compares to the overall fun, charm and challenge of Adventures of Pip, I have yet to find one. This is by far the highest quality ios game out there.
