## Details

An AED is a device used to provide a shock of electricity to somebody in cardiac arrest (having a heart attack). Defibrillation is the definitive treatment. Knowing how to use an AED is an important skill for firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, nurses, doctors and general public.

AED Sim gives people a chance to see, hear and interact with an AED. If you have ever been curious about how one operates now is your chance.

The built-in scenario editor lets you create a custom scenario or it can generate a random scenario for you. Combine an iPhone or iPad and AED Sim and youʼve got an inexpensive realistic training environment for practicing CPR. No costly AED trainers needed.

### 5/5 — Great training aid

*2025-08-19, version 3.0.0*

I use this to practice single and two person CPR as a volunteer emergency responder. The voice prompts and timings work well for me in the default setting. I appreciate that the actions sequence does not include prompts for rescue breaths because, in my experience of training to use a bag valve mask and airway adjuncts it is very easy to get out of synchronisation if these are provided.

### 3/5 — Ansich Gute App

*2024-11-17, version 3.0.0*

Gute App aber die Sprachen sollten wirklich übersetzt werden, weil alle stimmen englisch sprechen nur mit verschiedenen Akzenten.. Ansonsten super Simulations App👍

### 2/5 — Languages

*2024-02-22, version 3.0.0*

There is written „not every voice can speak every language“ all the Voices ONLY speak English… so please fix this! I can’t use it

### 2/5 — Seems straight forward, but there’s no sound!

*2023-01-06, version 2.0.0*

Got this app for my first aid classes to use as a demo for my AED lecture. The app has no sound, so not exactly useful at all for my course. Hoping there’s an update right away to fix this issue

### 1/5 — LGI

*2022-06-25*

It claims to have realistic voice prompts, but that is not true. There is no sound at all!

**Developer response:** I'm sorry you are having difficulties with this. Ensure that the phone isn't on mute or that the volume isn't turned completely down while running the app to hear the voice prompts.

### 3/5 — First aid training

*2021-07-24, version 2.0.0*

Ok so it’s basic I agree but hey ho it does exactly what you want it gives the voice commands and tells you to start CPR and counts down! What more do you want for 99p

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2021-03-09, version 2.0.0*

This is exactly what I need for our tabletop drill. Thanks a lot for the app, Dev!

### 3/5 — Great potential

*2019-02-27*

I am a CPR instructor and This is an awesome idea ... it does need to have legit voice prompts & metronome though . It would be cool to give students an option to download this during class and that would be the aed they use for training.. I would buy an Instructors package or subscription for that option..

**Developer response:** The voice prompts in the app are based on the Lifepak 500 AED. I'd love to know more about what you mean be legit voice prompts.

I agree that a metronome would be useful so hopefully that will be make it in a future update.

### 1/5 — Needs sound and connector for pads

*2018-01-10*

I had pads but no way to connect them . It does not tell you you have to buy the $25 connector.

**Developer response:** You do not need to buy pads or anything additional once you have purchased the app.

The prompt to connect pads is part of the simulation. Once you've done that step in the "real world", usually by going through the motion or verbally indicating that you've attached pads to the patient you tap the white pads icon on the app to advance the simulation to the next step.

I get this can be confusing and will likely be reworked next release.

### 1/5 — Not worth 99p!

*2017-12-12, version 2.0.0*

Got to be one of the worst impressions of being an AED! Must have taken a whole 2 minutes to write this app.
