Driver monitoring is more accurate at night and in backlight: there are fewer undue eyes closed warnings when you talk or sing, and the real drowsiness alert works as always.

A gentle notice called "Signs of fatigue" is new: after repeated yawns in the same trip, it appears once, with a short tone and a vibration, no voice and no effect on your score, and it can be turned off together with driver monitoring. Head down and looking down detection is new too, on screen only, with no sound.

A badge on the front camera frame tells you when monitoring is limited, by a dark face, strong glare or unstable tracking, and Settings explains it. The driving screen drawing was fixed in 4K and 720p as well: the lane carpet and the box around the vehicle ahead line up with the road in those formats.

Alert audio in the car was rebuilt. Your music is no longer pulled onto the app channel: it stays on its own channel, at the same quality as always, and the alert plays over it. The tones and the voice are louder and fuller next to the music. And you now choose where they come out, under Settings, General, Car audio, Alert channel. On the Media channel, the default, alerts play immediately and in full, with no delay and nothing cut short, and podcasts and audiobooks keep playing mixed underneath while the alert speaks. On the Navigation channel, they pause during speech.

The app does less GPU and CPU work during a trip, which helps it run cooler and save battery, and under strong heat GPS accuracy may be reduced for a while, with a notice in Settings and with no effect on the alerts. Reading speed limits from road signs is more efficient, and general fixes landed, among them one for the fatigue notice that could stay silent on back-to-back trips and one for a critical alert that could come out with no voice right after the app itself had spoken.

Aegis is an assistive tool: it does not drive for you and does not replace the driver's attention.
