### 2/5 — Logging in every time is miserable

*2026-08-15, version 2.5.7*

Overall the app is fine. The UI is manageable if simple, but why does it log me out every time I close the app? And why does i have to agree to terms and conditions and deselect the marketing opt in every time I want to use my diffuser? This just makes using the app awful.

### 2/5 — Quit making me sign in

*2026-06-09, version 2.5.05*

The app works fine, except that it makes me sign in EVERY TIME I open the app. Please change this. It is infuriating enough that it makes me not want to use the product.

### 2/5 — App is still terrible since iOS 18

*2026-04-24, version 2.5.04*

Even on iOS 26, this app has been terrible since iOS 18. If you don't use the app once every 12 hours or so, it will constantly sign you out. but hey, at least we're allowed to sign in now.

### 4/5 — Works well except excessive login prompts

*2026-03-14, version 2.3.91*

Controls device well and has nice scheduling features. However, it requires me to frequently login to my account instead of saving login information for future use. Interestingly, one of the steps to logging in contains two check boxes:
1. Terms of agreement (default not checked)
2. Sign me up for spam (default checked).

I don’t like that because sometimes I forget to uncheck #2 and need to indicate via gmail that aera emails are spam.

If I wanted your promos then let me opt in please and stop asking me to login anew every few times I open the app.

Otherwise great product; much better than store bought devices.

### 1/5 — Worst smart home apps EVER

*2025-11-05, version 2.3.0*

I’ve never used an app that constantly logs you out as much as this one! It’s insane! It also lacks basic functions like setting your own timer and schedule. You have very limited timer functions. If you’re looking at buying, I’d pass!

### 1/5 — App never works

*2025-11-01, version 2.3.0*

They keep saying they are working on it but I can’t log in so I can’t use the products I’ve purchased. Do not buy.

### 1/5 — Aera diffuser

*2025-10-31, version 2.3.0*

Bad app

### 1/5 — Login doesn’t work

*2025-10-26, version 2.3.0*

I’ve never been able to get Google login to work, every time it’s like I’m logging in for the first time. Now I can’t login at all because of an error. Please fix!

### 1/5 — Terrible app and worse customer service

*2025-10-17, version 2.3.0*

The app is consistently throwing errors making the whole premise of the “auto air fresheners“ system an incorrect assumption. ONE WOULD BE BETTER OFF (AND SAVE MONEY) BY BUYING PLUG-INS FROM TARGET! I do not recommend this product nor the company!

### 1/5 — Problem fixed?? Fix the problem!!!!!

*2025-09-27, version 2.3.0*

****Update: it broke again. I think it’s time for a class action lawsuit. This is ridiculous.

Update: I am finally able to login. Version 2.1.9 might have fixed the issue.

Fix this app problem. If not, I want to return every diffuser and unused cartridge I have and want my money back. This has gone long enough. Seems like Aera has given up on this problem.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2025-09-27, version 2.3.0*

Possibly the worst most problematic app on my phone. Constantly get an error code regardless of phone or iOS version. They claim they are “working on it”

### 4/5 — 5 Years of Bloss

*2025-09-24, version 2.2.0*

I love Aera, but I am actually do LOTS more with a smart plug than using the App. I can tell Amazon Alexa to start my Aera (smart plug) at sunrise and stop at sunset. The App doesn’t allow that.

### 1/5 — Buggy App

*2025-09-23, version 2.2.0*

I have had the diffuser for a long time, but the app is horrible. After most recent update I cannot log back in and keep getting error 1. What is the point of having an app dependent device if the developers cannot keep up?

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2025-09-19, version 2.2.0*

I have had the Aera for home for several years. It is a great product. Unfortunately the product relies on the app. I have not been able to sign into the app for months. I have written to customer support several times and have always been told that they are aware of the issue and it is a priority to fix. If your product is app based and you can’t fix a problem within a week this is concerning.

### 1/5 — Great scents, average diffuser, terrible app.

*2025-09-18, version 2.2.0*

The scents are pretty amazing, great selection and well made. The diffusers of which I own 2 minis and one full are ok. I think they are all somewhat underpowered and seem to use a lot of scent. When on high I can smell it but the room is lightly scented. The app on the hand deplorable. Multiple times of the last 6 months a log in error occurs and per support you should remove the app, power down the phone, download the app and try again. It doesn’t work, you are stuck with the schedule you had programmed prior to the app erroring out. It will then let you back in one and fail again 3 weeks for another month. All the issues are not worth the price or inconvenience.

### 4/5 — Toller Raumduft - nur leider etwas laut

*2025-09-15, version 2.2.0*

Wir finden unser Aera Duftgerät super und die Duftauswahl ist auch prima. Was uns stört, ist die Lautstärke des Diffusors.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible customer service

*2026-08-21, version 2.5.7*

Setup was a nightmare and required me to weaken my network security to connect. After finally connecting I was unable to add a fragrance through the app. Customer service said to reinstall the app and ghosted me. Still not working. App is barely usable.

### 1/5 — Ghost Aera

*2026-08-07, version 2.5.05*

This app automatically starts my arrows without my permission and just drain my diffusers when I don’t need them or I’m not at home. This is a horrible app and it’s designed for era to sell diffusers so they just run all day long while I’m at work without me turning them on!

### 1/5 — Terrible App & Customer Service

*2026-05-28, version 2.5.04*

I have had four Aera devices for three years and Customer service has only gotten worse. Nobody answers, a bot responds to texts and when you try to reach someone it gives an outdated message of times they supposedly work but are closed nonetheless. I think they may be on the verge of closing their operations. As they don’t care to assist customers with already purchased devices.

### 1/5 — Unable to Sign in with Apple

*2025-12-09, version 2.3.0*

Signing in with Apple works flawlessly with every single app that makes it available, except for this app. How am I supposed to manage this device if I can’t log in using the easiest and most trusted method? Useless.

### 1/5 — App needs work. Smells too sweet

*2025-12-05, version 2.3.0*

The app logs you out every day. Not integrated with HomeKit. Very primitive and junky design. Smells: I bought two and got 4 more samples. All are too sweet and feel soapy. Not a subtle smell even at low setting. Update: this is so frustrating— This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with my investments. I added devices for the whole house but it’s impossible to login to control my devices! Not only I have t login to the app that I want to control at my finger tips the login is behind multiple walls that I need to pass. Whoever has designed the app has never thought about the customer experience. It’s the hand down the worst app I have. I will be switching to other companies if the app is not changed soon. Smells are not that good either: cheep hotel smells.

### 1/5 — Good product, Bad App

*2025-11-29, version 2.3.0*

App log-in continuously fails. I was able to access and use the app for less than 24 hours before it logged me out. Now I cannot add/edit my schedules. Extremely frustrating. Please devote resources to build a stable app, otherwise one of the main features of your products is useless.

### 1/5 — Completely broken

*2025-11-27, version 2.3.0*

Cannot login with Apple.

Cannot login otherwise.

Cannot associate with the device.

Even after trying with multiple different devices, after reinstalls, restarts, etc..

This product is a waste of money.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2025-11-21, version 2.3.0*

Login stopped working again. I’m just done with this. I’ll pick another diffuser.

### 1/5 — App has been broken for a year

*2025-11-19, version 2.3.0*

I don’t understand how this app is rated 5 stars when it’s been impossible to login for a year now. Same error code. They say they’re working on a fix. Insane that it’s taking this long. I regret buying it.

### 1/5 — Broken won’t work wit WiFi

*2025-11-14, version 2.3.0*

I have an old diffuser, trying to set up but it keeps trying Bluetooth. I do the WiFi setting that used to do and I get error 1108 message. Customer Service is bad so now I have a manual diffuser.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I love the smells

*2026-05-12, version 2.5.04*

Aera has such great scents. Not overbearing but nice and fragrant. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a great smelling home .

### 5/5 — Clean home

*2026-03-28, version 2.3.91*

Love this device. We have pets and the smell would always linger. Aera Home removes the smell it’s amazing.

### 5/5 — Fantastic customer support

*2025-12-21, version 2.3.91*

Aera has incredible customer service! I had an issue with three diffusers and after a quick explanation of what was wrong they ended up replacing them with new ones at no cost to me. They were professional, knowledgeable and quick to help solve my problem. I have been a customer for almost five years and absolutely love their products and highly recommend them to anyone.

### 5/5 — AeraForHome

*2025-10-20, version 2.3.0*

I love the Aera and quickly ordered another. My only desire to make it better would be to have some sensor to let you know when you’re running low on fragrance. I love the fact I can turn it on and off remotely. Very easy set up!

### 5/5 — Compliments

*2025-07-22, version 2.1.9*

I have a Great Dane living in the house (5yrs) and always get compliments “Your house always smells good” ❤️

### 5/5 — Problem fixed?? Fix the problem!!!!!

*2025-03-25*

****Update: I am finally able to login. Version 2.1.9 might have fixed the issue.

Fix this app problem. If not, I want to return every diffuser and unused cartridge I have and want my money back. This has gone long enough. Seems like Aera has given up on this problem.

### 5/5 — I’m happy

*2025-03-16, version 2.1.8*

I’m very happy with Aera, nice design and the more import thing, good fragrance and variety.
Good size for the minis and cars.
Reasonable prices .

### 5/5 — Love the Diffusers, Hate the app!!

*2025-03-03, version 2.1.8*

I’m just reiterating previous reviews. I’ve been a customer since 2020, so you can imagine my confusion and frustration when I receive error messages that my login has failed. I will not continue my scent subscription if this is not fixed…soon!

### 5/5 — Terrible update

*2025-03-02, version 2.1.8*

The latest app update is trash. Did not keep log in information so had to reenter all information manually and now I can’t log in because it keeps sending a failure message. The app is now just a waste of space

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2024-11-01, version 2.1.6*

Happiness at its finest
