I booked through Booking.com and was told to use the App.  I found it difficult to use.
I still had to go to reception for a key card to make the room lights work so the App was pretty much redundant.  
I doubt that I will use it again.

 Hellhörigkeit: Die Wände der Boxen sind teilweise etwas hellhörig.
 Begrenzte Ausstattung: Die Boxen sind mit dem Nötigsten ausgestattet, aber es gibt keine zusätzlichen Annehmlichkeiten wie Minibar oder Safe.
Fazit:
Das Boxhotel Hannover ist eine ausgezeichnete Wahl für preisbewusste Reisende, die eine moderne und smarte Unterkunft in zentraler Lage suchen. Die kleinen, aber funktionalen Zimmer und die einfache Handhabung durch die App überzeugen auf ganzer Linie.

Why I need another app to do something simple is the only gripe I have with this. The app works fine although if your international address doesn’t meet the expected format you have to make it up. But why I need an app from another publisher again and again, cross one road you need one app, cross the other way another app a new password verified by cellphone, it’s tedious.

why do i need to download an app to check into a hostel.

Ich musste circa 20 Versuche starten, mich einzuloggen, bevor es endlich funktioniert hat. Vorher kriege ich immer die Meldung es sei ein Fehler aufgetreten. Das darf bei einer App, die ein Zimmerschlüssel ist nicht passieren.

Zwei Tage im Voraus gebucht. Alle Bestätigungen stimmen alle E-Mails. Stimmen am Abend beim einchecken. Alles in Ordnung. Beim Öffnen der Türen: ein Fehler ist aufgetreten. Aber keine Telefonnummer in der Lobby oder irgendwo anders ist erreichbar. Ich sitze um tief nachts in der Lobby und kann keinen erreichen und habe kein Zimmer. Maximale Frustration.

Attempting to check in and get set up before my arrival and I am not getting the verification texts from either the web app or the mobile app after several attempts. Confirmed good phone number and I’m receiving texts from other people. Makes me very hesitant to use for room access.

Arrived at my hotel.  Scanned QR code for room service. Created an account and logged in to the app. Impossible to navigate to the menu for my hotel.  Gave up and phoned room service instead.  

Another useless app. Deleted.

Bekomme vom Hotel einen Link, der auf die Webseite führt. Dort muss ich einen neuen Account anlegen, der vorhandene Account der App kann nicht übernommen werden. Bei der Verifikation soll dann ein per SMS gesendeter Code gesendet werden, das passiert nur nie. Es kommt nie eine SMS. Ich vermute mal, nach der Verifikation würde man zur App weitergeleitet. Leider komme ich nie soweit.

In der App kann ich ein Konto anlegen, und dann kommt auch die SMS, aber dann kann die App  die Buchung nicht finden, da das Hotel nur einen Link, aber keinen Buchungscode verschickt.

Ist also ein voller Reinfall…

Highly recommend this place due to location, staff and quality. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Blackout curtains for long days, good water pressure and temperature in shower, fully equipped kitchen in studio, comfortable bedding, rooftop deck, laundry, work space and barception were all excellent!
