I bought the Aeropress Go, not the original. I would love to see a way to have the recipes be modified for the smaller volume. Perhaps a setting that lets you choose the model you own or if you own both, a way to switch between them. ### 2/5 — Urgently needs an edit function *2021-12-20, version 3.1* The app works well for simple recipes but a glaring omission is not being able to edit previously created recipes. The whole point of the Aeropress is to tinker and experiment. It is very annoying to have to start a new recipe from scratch versus just tweaking an existing one. For $5 I would expect such a basic feature as being able to edit an existing recipe ### 4/5 — Highly recommend, very fun! *2021-05-20, version 3.1* I recommend this app frequently to anyone who owns an Aeropress because it’s fun to try the different recipes. I’ve used this app for years and almost every day at home during the pandemic. One thing to know is it can crash when making your own recipes sometimes - usually when entering really high temperatures like 99c. And I can’t seem to find out how to edit your own recipes if you make a mistake - looks like you have to delete and start over. But overall, an excellent design, and very fun. My wishlist would be to for easier ways to share recipes and download them off websites through some kind of json file. I have 2 pour steps in my recipe and I want to specify the amount of water for each one. ### 3/5 — Use metric units for god’s sake *2020-11-22, version 3.1* I don’t know who the hell uses shots as a unit of measuring water and scoops is a measure of ground coffee. Every home barista has a scale. Just give us the goddamn grams. ### 2/5 — Poor custom option *2020-08-18, version 3.1* There is no way to add a bloom stage for custom recipes. Many of the recipes pre-loaded have multiple pour stages for a bloom, but this is not possible to have for the custom recipes. You cannot add a second pour, stir, or steep stage into your recipe when a bloom would require this. Given with how many recipes have this as a basic feature, this oversight is a poor one. I would not purchase this app again. ### 4/5 — Solid app *2020-08-09, version 3.1* Works well. It did crash while trying to create a recipe. I highly recommend adding a step for blooming as that seems pretty common. Currently custom recipes don’t show you what needs to be done at each step which is very frustrating and makes it useless. Great aesthetic and feel though. Edit: Wish I could edit recipes without having to recreate. ### 2/5 — Missing features for such an expensive app *2020-05-31, version 3.1* For an expensive app you’d think some pretty basic features would be included. Like how about the ability to edit a recipe? Or what about the ability to add water in multiple stages for a bloom? If I’m creating a recipe and want to add part of the water then stir then add the rest of the water I’m out of luck. What if I want to add something to the recipe other than coffee or water (like a specific amount of ice?) no luck there either. ### 2/5 — Force Closes *2020-05-31, version 3.1* The app is useful for the recipes already listed within. But, the app shuts off everytime I try to create my own. It specifically shuts off after I enter the degree (in Celcius). I wish I was able to enter the temperature in Celcius instead of Farenheit for it to work. ### 2/5 — Crashes when creating a recipe *2020-05-29, version 3.1* The tool as a recipe repository is good, however, the recipes are not updated, nor new recipes are being added. Furthermore, whenever I try to add a new recipe, the app crashes. As of now, the app is not recommended unless a new update would fix these issues. ### 2/5 — Can be confusing at times *2020-04-12, version 3.1* Some of the recipes have a two step ‘pour’ ie step one is ‘pour 100g’, then step three might be ‘pour 120g’, it doesn’t clarify if step three is an additional 120g or to a total of 120g, also some recipes have a notes section before then the timer starts and doesn’t give you the information you need to follow the recipe ### 3/5 — aero press timer *2020-04-11, version 3.1* This is not a well thought out app there is no way to modify a custom recipe, to make a single change you have to create a complete new recipe, which is a huge waste of time It also does not give you total brew times either in the pre-made recipes or custom ones as it only counts fill and steep times, not press or stir or flip times in the total needs some major updates ### 3/5 — Not Worth the Money *2020-02-28, version 3.1* WINS: •Concept is great -gives you the recipe and instructions: grind setting (shows pic of ideal size of grounds), when to pour the water and HOW much water to pour at that given step in the recipe, etc. OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT: •Creating Recipes: BUGGY -won’t allow you to specify how much water to pour at specific moment/step in the recipe i.e. doesn’t allow for a bloom stage (even if it did you wouldn’t be able to note how much water for said bloom) •Writing Notes: BUGGY -You can write as much as you want in your notes but once you finish you cannot access that note again AND you will only ever be able to read the first line.. nothing more. •Not Many Recipes -You are better off surfing the web or YouTube for good AeroPress recipes tbh ### 2/5 — Great UI and UX but buggy *2020-02-10, version 3.1* Crashes every time I try to complete making my own recipe. I thought this came with recipes? ### 1/5 — Shares tons of information *2024-03-14, version 3.1* Don’t install or download. I didn’t realize how much was being shared until I opened the app on a new phone and it asked me for everything under the sun from microphones to bluetooth and camera etc… it’s pretty bad. The developed will not update the app because when they push the next update they’re required to list their permissions publicly. That’s a bad look. Don’t download the app. ### 1/5 — Still crashes!!! *2021-12-22, version 3.1* There’s a review stating that this app crashes when setting the water temperature for your own recipe. A year on from that review it still crashes. I have therefore requested a refund. ### 1/5 — Less than ok *2020-12-10* First of all, there are not so many recipes in the app. Bypass? Nope, never heard of it. WAC recipes? Kinda yes, but what year? Second, you can not set metric system by default for new recipes. You have to manually switch from scoops, F’s and whatnot to grams and C’s every time, on every screen. And yes, I’m unable to save my own recipes, app crashes every time. UI as obsolete as first wave coffee shop. ### 1/5 — ABANDONED APP. Do NOT buy *2020-06-11, version 3.1* The developer has not updated in over a year. Normally this wouldn’t be an issue for an app as simple as this. But it’s slow to start, crashes, and worst of all used 15% of battery (iPhone 11, latest update) in just 5 minutes... for a coffee timer. Save your $5 and look elsewhere.
