我們採用的檢測設備，是皮膚上特定位置量測阻抗的現代科學方法，1950年日本的中谷義雄博士發現，穴位其實是皮膚上傳導電流的良導點 (皮膚上容易導電的特定排列點)；其背景理論可說是東方醫學與西方科學之結合，原理為：內臟的狀態會在體表上對應的部位產生反射現象。西元前26年，中國傳統醫學聖典《黄帝內經》提到「十二經脈者，內屬於臟腑，外絡予支結」，兩千年來持續發展，在臨床應用上累積了可觀的醫學經驗。到了20世紀中，穴位和經絡的認識開始有了科學的觀點。
