I want to say that I like these types of games. Setting up matches. But this was not very fun for me. This was due to the many crashes every few minutes causing me to not even be able to play. Until those crashes are fixed I don't really wanna come back. ### 3/5 — Great until *2022-04-16, version 1.46* I was super addicted and played it every day for a week until just now it stopped letting me into my endless mode I have 80+ weeks in. I click onto endless mode or career and it doesn’t do anything. It lets me click on other things and do online matches, but not the only game modes I play. I don’t want to redownload because I don’t want to lose my data, but now I can’t play and don’t know how to fix this. ### 3/5 — My Reasoning On Why YALL Get a 3/5 *2022-03-29, version 1.43* This game is great, the designs for the characters look great, BUT the only issue is when your adding more then 1 match (3 matches) the app would end up crashing and it would erase your weekly data for the week show mode, which is really annoying cause this Happened to me 5 times already today while I was playing…. Hopefully y’all can fix that cause it’s irritating ### 3/5 — I can’t actually play the game! *2022-02-27, version 1.42* I was having fun with this game at first but once I pressed ready in my card the game crashed. So I went back on and my whole card was deleted and I had to make it again which was fun but if it crashes I cant really play the game. And then the same thing happened on week 2 which lead to me making this review. I did give this game 3 stars mostly because the idea is incredible and the whole concept in general. And I love the whole match rating aspect and how you get the money and the fans so that is a real plus. And if this bug that I am dealing with is fixed then this game goes to a possible 5 star from me. ### 4/5 — Love this game but *2022-02-21, version 1.42* I really like this game but my only problems is that for some reason it keeps on crashing on me, how easy it is to get money, and that you can not choose how long you want somebody or how many weeks you wanna add to someone’s contract when it almost expires ### 4/5 — Great Game w/ Frustrating Bugs *2022-01-02, version 1.33* This is everything a wrestling gaming fan from the mid 00s misses. It’s a modernized GM mode with over-the-top aspects that seem cartoonie, but seem to work for this game. My only complaint with this game are the frustrating crashes. I tend to enjoy the Endless mode just to do my own thing and not worry about “missions” and such. But I’ve had to either reset and start a new game OR even delete the game and reinstall about 5 times now. After reaching around the 50 week mark, the game seems to stop saving my progress or just outright crashing. And it’s always just as I’m really hitting a stride. It’s really discouraging but I still want to play it. I hope this can be addressed. To show how much I love this game, I have NEVER left a review on an app until right now. It’s highly reccodmended. ### 4/5 — Season pass glitch! Also it loses your saved progress every day! *2021-12-23, version 1.33* You pay for the season pass $10 and you earn vouchers for “gimmick packs” and you lose them as you use them as the game glitches every time and takes you away from the screen. Then, even more annoyingly, you do the endless campaign which is like the campaign of a normal game and you book week after week and you save after every week. However every single day if I do 12 weeks and save each the next day it will bring me back so it only saved 8 weeks. If I do 20 weeks in a day the next day it will only remember 13. This happens every day and it really messes everything up and in my opinion is a game breaking glitch! ### 3/5 — Misses the Mark *2021-12-02, version 1.28* I love AEW and really wanted to love this game. But for me, the forefront of a GM game should be feuds and stories youre trying to tell. Feuds kind of feel like an afterthought and you really dont feel a different between a thrown together match and a match that has an 8 week feud behind it. I played endless mode because i wanted to build long term stories, but the main feeling was stress for being so strapped for cash at all times. Online play felt kind if arbitrary. I played once and my opponent ended up with more fans but somehow I won?? Idk how Challenge mode was probably the most enjoyable, but not what i was looking for in a GM game. The art style is really great! It feels like a solid base for a good game, but not quite there yet ### 4/5 — My superstars are being deleted *2021-11-27, version 1.27* Hey, In the unlimited weeks, my superstars are being deleted when I close or turn off the game. This is really aggravating to me and if you can please do something about this problem it would be Awesome. Thank you and please fix this problem. ### 3/5 — Good game, but looks like there’s a massive glitch. *2021-10-07, version 1.17* I really enjoy this game, but I find it confusing sometimes. For example, I was building up a rivalry in Endless weeks, Kenny Omega and Scorpio Sky to be specific, and the 5th week they just weren’t on the roster anymore. I would think they would be injured, but wouldn’t they show up yellow? ### 3/5 — Super fun but… *2021-09-29, version 1.16* Overall great game but it seems as though every time there is an update, the game tells me I don’t have the space required to download it. I free up more and more space and it continuously tells me the same thing. So I delete it and redownload it and have to start my progress over. So I’m starting over a second time now. Probably wont start over a third time. ### 4/5 — Good start but not quite there *2021-09-29, version 1.16* The main idea for this to be really good is there but it’s not quite there yet but hopefully with future versions it gets there. With the endless mode it’s hard to get going, with contracts expiring without telling you and being strapped for cash you can’t ever really get into your “stories” you wanna book long term. You’re just kinda handcuffed into doing what you can. A sandbox mode of sorts where you just start with a limited roster and then collect guys as you make money that stay permanently would be a much cooler approach. ### 3/5 — It’s average *2021-09-29, version 1.16* I like AEW as a promotion, and i have really enjoyed 80s mania wrestling and to a lesser extent modern mania, my real issue here lives with the rate of making money, and the inability to keep champions. There should at the least be a resign option on contracts for champions. The filtering of the wrestling’s by name and pop and etc isn’t that great either. Decent enough time killer but i feel like the before mentioned games are better alternatives. ### 4/5 — To many updates *2021-09-29, version 1.16* Great game don’t get me wrong. But there’s too many updates, there’s 1 everyday and that limits me to be able to play due to not having WiFi. Since all the updates are more than 1 GB. Other than that amazing game ### 4/5 — Where’s my ice cream bar ? *2021-08-26, version 1.11* Put CM Punk in this immediately. So far it is by far the best wrestling booking game I’ve ever played . You need to add championship run stats . How many times , how many days champions hold their titles . It’d be nice to add a feature where we can create our own promotions to go against AEW. Add create a wrestler feature . Overall this is fantastic . I won’t touch pvp modes because that just makes no sense at all to me . Add Punk . ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — More Updates More Bugs *2021-09-29, version 1.16* The game was extremely barebones and didn't have any replay-ability, but the more they patch it the more bugs I run into. I had to redownload the app because after I updated it it wouldn’t stop saying I needed to download a new update. When I reinstalled it, I couldn’t re-sign into my account and had to make a new one. Now having to slog through the tutorial again, after every single one it freezes and I have to close the app. ### 1/5 — Missed the mark *2021-09-26, version 1.15* I’m a huge AEW fan and have been playing 80s MWR for a few years so I was HYPED for this game hoping they just basically copied the MWR format. Unfortunately that is not the case. This game is overly complicated, with too many modes and seemingly no path to book a promotion week to week while slowly acquiring new wrestlers/collectibles as you progress. I’ve probably spent well over $100 on MWR tokens over the years so I don’t mind paying in-game if the foundation of the game is fun and enjoyable. Unfortunately this game missed the mark entirely for me and I’ve just returned to happily playing MWR despite having been stoked to be able to book the AEW roster. Really hoping the upcoming console games reverse this trend of crappy video games coming from AEW. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2021-08-02, version 1.09* I had high hopes for an AEW GM simulator after AEW has proven its ability to listen to its fans and the general consensus that SmackDown vs. RAW 2006 had the best GM mode which needs a revival. Even after learning the game has its own goals apart from the existing gold standard in GM games, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. However there are too many flaws to ignore. There are no customization options for your shows, you can’t do rivalries, the roster stats are whack (Sting and FTR are the #3-5 fastest wrestlers in the game?!), and it gets repetitive too quickly, especially since the best strategy is to book the same wrestlers for multiple matches per week. The art is pretty good, except for a few. ### 1/5 — Expected more *2021-07-29, version 1.08* This is a mess. The challenges can’t be completed. I sign expensive talent, cheap talent, all female, all tag teams, no matter what, some challenges can’t be done. Oh I made Brandon Cutler the World Champ, but because I can’t sign enough wrestler and have to include him in the match, he lost it. I hope that the console game is incredible because the gambling game with some AEW graphics, didn’t waste my time and now this, I feel like I’ve wasted my time. I am a huge AEW fan. I’ve been to live shows, I buy merch, I support, but this game is a mess and I wanted it to be good. I understand you want to make money, but the micro transactions prices are ridiculous for what you end up getting. Do better AEW, there’s a ton of folks out here rooting for you. ### 2/5 — I want to like this game… *2022-12-27, version 1.48* I really do. Been a fan of AEW since the company first aired on TV, and when I heard about this game I was stoked!! Then I started to play it with biased because I just loved the show. First off, it seems like the only way to get a 3 star match is to throw as many wrestlers in a match as possible. Singles matches mean nothing in terms of making money from week to week. And the money…you just don’t make enough money to make a decent show on endless or challenges. It’s rough. I’ll keep coming back to the game but I’d like to see some reworks on the money and match systems and I’ll be a happy man ### 2/5 — Another game with the illusion of choices *2021-10-03, version 1.17* There’s really not many choices to make here. Basically you pick wrestlers, pick matches, pick weapons, and the AI chooses who wins/loses (based on whoever is stronger). There’s no “underdog” wins here. If one person has weaker stats they lose every time. Besides the limited amount of money you have (which means repeating matches on a card with your limited roster to fill a show out), you can only sign people to a limited contract (you don’t choose how long), and there’s no way to resign them before it runs out. Once it does they disappear from your roster and might not be on the signing page after. So you really can’t make long-term plans for anyone. This is kind of like Telltale games where you have the *appearances* of MANY choices, but really you don’t have that many since the game is going to do what it wants. Love AEW, looking forward to the console (and hopefully PC) game. But this one doesn’t live up to the hype of “general manager.” ### 2/5 — No titles? *2021-07-20, version 1.05* The game seriously needs belts before it even gives the illusion of being complete. I enjoyed being able to access the entire roster, theoretically, however it’s really really painful trying to afford anyone. The cards you have to put together make AEW Dark look like Wrestlemania. I want to love it, as a veteran of TEW, JoW, EWR, PW, and Modern Mania but I just don’t. And if I can’t love it… I’m not sure who this is for. It’s a good base, but feels rushed. ### 2/5 — I was expecting a bit more *2021-07-18, version 1.05* I was really hyped for this game to release and when it did it seemed pretty fun to play at first. After a little while you start to run out of money amd can’t get more than a couple of Erwin your roster at a time and it gets repetitive quickly. There are hardly any moves in a match and why are there even titles if they can’t be defended? You should be able to set up title matches. The graphics aren’t too good and the gameplay is pretty basic for a game with so much hype around it. The wwe games on iOS are ALOT better so far and I’m pretty disappointed by that. I really expected more moves and the ability to defend titles on the shows. You need to also be able to make more money to sign the wrestlers in the game. It’s still new so I’m not going to just judge the game completely yet. But so far the replay ability is pretty low right now. Really hoping for more to come though! There’s a lot of potential and a pretty deep roster so good things can still happen! Thanks for putting in the work to bring us an AEW game ### 2/5 — Not that great *2021-07-16, version 1.03* There was a lot of hype around this especially after AEW disappointed with the poker game. Sad to say this is another disappointment. This is an alright game but it has too many flaws. First off, the app crashes too much and erases your actions for the week so far. Secondly, the tutorial is too long. Another problem is the online mode, where the wrestler options are limited. I also didn’t like that in the endless mode it takes way too long to make money and get more wrestlers. It’s also tough to keep things fresh with the feuds without repeating matchups. The part where you watch the wrestlers fight is just flat out bad. No signature moves, it just the wrestlers doing random things. Most matches only consist of a punch, someone getting tossed out of the ring, or doing a springboard move that looks like a stick figure jumping. I think their might be a way to purchase moves, but the fact that we have to buy it with the virtual currency and otherwise watch this garbage is really bad. The best part about my couple hours playing this game was watching a forklift enter the ring. I appreciate AEW for trying to give the fans what they want with a GM game, but frankly this isn’t even better than WWE’s mobile games in my opinion. I really hope they deliver with their console game, because if this game and the casino game is an indicator of how AEW’s games will be moving forward, thats not good. ### 3/5 — Needs Accessibility *2022-08-28, version 1.48* After trying the game, I am mediately discovered this game is not accessible. This is because, there is no VoiceOver support whatsoever. I feel that if this game had full voiceover support it would be playable by everyone and would reach more players. If the developers are reading this I would like to suggest that The game receive a update to makethe game supportt voiceover to make the game more accessible ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Crashes *2021-12-16, version 1.32* I just want to say if you are thinking of installing this game, you should 100% do so. It’s a great game but there is a lot of crashes I have been experiencing the past two days. In the endless weeks I get one week down and then I make the matches for the next and start it and it crashes. I just want to know if I’m the only one experiencing these crashes. Don’t expect full on matches, high action, that’s what the Yukes AEW console game will be. This game is 70/30 game/your imagination. BUT there’s currently a bug that is corrupting my save files and won’t let me get past a certain week in endless mode. I’ve finished all of the missions and tutorials so all I have is endless mode and the bug is preventing me from continuing it. This would be a 5 star game if not for this bug that is making it unplayable now. ### 5/5 — GM mode for the nerds *2021-08-23, version 1.09* I love this game. It’s simple and fun and it has all the elements of the old GM games that I love. It isn’t without its flaws (having enough cash to book a full 6 matches would be nice) but I’m having a blast playing it. One small suggestion to the developers: PLEASE let me book the matches. If I’m running the show I should be able to decide who goes over. Use rivalries for every match, use singles matches as much as possible, and use the hospitality table and disrespect feud on superstars with lower stamina. Now that you know the secrets, let me know if your game file gets corrupt when you hit $1M like mines doing.
