This app single-handedly saved me when I was in an extremely dark place. I was lost to my addiction with opiates. I had lost my way, myself, and was about to lose those who cared about me as well. I was out of control. I wanted nothing more than to make my pain go away. It was a nasty cycle. I wasn’t in control of myself. I was looking into rehab, but I didn’t want my phone to be taken away. I needed it to stay in contact with my family, and to use as a distraction from the pain and fear that were eating away at me. So I tried to find out-patient services I could do from home, where I could enroll into the MAT program and be prescribed Suboxone for the first time. Then I discovered this app. ‘An app?’ I said to myself. ‘There’s no way that I can get all this help just through an app. Right?’ Wrong! Everything I needed, this app provided. Counseling, medication, missions to complete, sobriety tracking, and guess what else? THEY PAY YOU! To get clean, to go to your appointments, to take your UDS checks. Of course, you can only use the money on very limited things (to be safe), but I have just officially earned $100 total. I have been very consistent and am nearing my 1yr sober in a few months, so it does take almost a year of consistency to earn that much, but it is possible. That’s nothing compared to the worth of not being in that dark place anymore. I also have to give a shout out to my favorite counselor, Sierra B. You helped encourage me during my dark moments. You watched as I got healthier and my complexion returned to normal. We laughed together, you didn’t judge me, you helped me see the good in myself again. I can never thank you enough. Affect has become a steady part of my day and one of the only tools that’s kept me grounded during an extremely hard time. I’m currently going through a protection order and dealing with the aftermath of domestic violence, and this app has helped me stay connected to myself instead of getting lost in all the chaos. The check-ins, the structure, the clarity it gives me—it’s done real good for me. And Miss T has been a huge part of that. She’s direct, grounding, and the exact kind of voice I needed. I didn’t expect to care this much, but she’s honestly become a stabilizing presence in my life. If you’re skeptical, I get it. I was too. I also recommend this app to anyone that has has anxiety (like I do) going to an outpatient facility. Since it is all done from your phone or computer it’s pretty awesome that you never have to leave the house. Another amazing thing that they have to offer is that you can get paid up to $600 as an incentive to do challenges, missions, showing up for counseling and group and even Drug testing which I’m pretty sure drug testing is still voluntary. I chose to do drug testing just to be able to hold myself accountable . So what better way to get sober and have a huge sober support community to help to encourage you confiding as advice to etc. Affects Therapeutics and their staff are completely amazing. I have been with them for 702 days as of today. And I am extremely grateful for them, and for everyone that has helped me along the way through my recovery. I have 835 days sober as of today and I have Affects therapeutics to think for that well besides myself.lol. Because it was me that did the work and continue to do it so thank you Affects therapeutics you guys are incredible I am constantly trying to tell people about you because you have been such a huge part of my sobriety. Let that sink in. It’s an app. Nothing here merits that kind of money if they truly cared about the individual. I have a large following on TikTok where I bring awareness around kratom and 7oh. My company switched insurance providers, and as soon as that happened, they cut me off of my meds cold turkey. They wouldn’t even respond to a message to let me know if they accepted my insurance. Never even had the option to pay on my own, just cut off with no explanation. Needless to say, I was forced to relapse and am now using much harder stuff than 7oh because now I’m trying to withdraw from suboxone. Very dirty company! They say they care about your recovery…No they only care about their money!! ### 1/5 — Serious continuity-of-care issues — read before relying on this app *2026-01-14* I signed up for Affect expecting professional, reliable mental health medication management. Unfortunately, my experience revealed serious systemic problems that people should be aware of before depending on this service. There were two separate failures in my care: 1. My work schedule was not accommodated despite communication about availability. 2. Independently of scheduling, my prescription was allowed to lapse, placing me at risk of withdrawal and destabilization. These are not minor inconveniences. For psychiatric medications, continuity of care is essential, and administrative or scheduling breakdowns should never result in a patient being left without medication. Communication was slow and reactive rather than proactive, and there were no safeguards in place to prevent a lapse once it became clear that scheduling issues existed. Ultimately, I had to seek help outside the platform to maintain my treatment. This app may work for people with highly flexible schedules and minimal reliance on strict medication timing, but if you: • work fixed or rotating hours, • rely on consistent refills, • or need a system that actively prevents lapses, you should proceed with caution. Mental health care requires reliability, not just access. I went to take my review to the Better Business Bureau and they already have an F rating. With no responses to the people who gave these ratings. That should be enough for anyone. ### 1/5 — What the ??? *2025-12-14, version 4.16.0* confusing and never got medication ### 1/5 — Terrible Experience *2025-11-08* I ended up getting a job so my schedule changed, I had to reschedule a few of my appointments because of it which they made seem like wasn’t a big deal. I had a psychiatry appointment that had to be rescheduled because she didn’t show up to our call and the day before our next appointment that I needed to get a refill, they unenrolled me. I was lucky enough to find a new and much better psychiatrist but I felt very rejected and just thrown away when they unenrolled me and then when I tried to re enroll they made it a hassle and were apparently too busy to make another intake appointment for me. ### 1/5 — Awful *2025-10-20, version 4.13.0* Second time this month the instructions to the pharmacy were wrong, appt was on a Wednesday, doctor never responded by Friday and I spent the weekend without meds AGAIN for the second time this month. Now nobody will even respond to me to help. Awful company, this is so irresponsible to put patients in this position. I want to cry. ### 1/5 — Need Help? They Won’t *2025-05-12, version 4.4.0* Impossible to contact. Literally impossible. They are incompetent with insurance. I was delayed because they told me my insurance wasn’t partnered and that I had the wrong plan. The plan they told me I had, is not the plan I have. I sent my insurance card, they are obviously just incompetent. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-02-16, version 3.25.0* Sure they pay you, but it’s like 5 cents per task. Confidentiality is non-existent. Jodi will tell you everyone’s business so I’m sure she’s also telling yours to someone. People sit in groups vaping and rolling blunts. Letting their girlfriends, parents, and friends listen to your “therapy”. When you bring it up to counselors they get condescending and defensive. Oh and when you quit treatment. You get several random bills. Not exactly how you treat someone with SUD. 0/10 - you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for treating people with SUD the way you do. I suffered in active addiction since 2009. I got clean a couple of times, but none of the other treatment programs I’ve tried have what Affect does!
