All other banks you can access the app when you data has depleted ### 2/5 — Investment withdrawal issue *2025-02-27, version 4.0.0* I have an investment account with the My World Acc for African Bank and the notice period is 7 days. Every time when I try to withdraw a portion of my money via the app after clicking confirm it just kicks me out of the app and times me out. Every single time. I have deleted and downloaded the app many times I still face the same issue. What’s up with that?? It’s such an inconvenience now I have to go to the branch. ### 1/5 — Unable to login *2025-02-02, version 3.18.1* I am unable to login on my app. It’s the says the version I’m using is old and not supported. When I try to update it, nothing happens. The version I’m using is the one that App Store has as well. Really disappointed. ### 1/5 — Nonsense App *2024-12-29, version 3.18.1* I am sick and tired of this nonsense App and online banking that does not serve my needs nothing but only inconvenience. Credentials this and that all the time and everyone making the same review and the bank can’t provide a solution. I mean all banks have Apps and they’re working just fine but African bank can’t figure out what works for them??? What is that. Nonsense!! ### 1/5 — No Access! *2024-12-25, version 3.18.1* This app can’t, for some odd reason, grant me access. I always have to use the desktop because the app always has some “error”. It’s quite irritating when on the move. This issue has been happening for a VERY long time. ### 1/5 — Unable to perform instant EFT *2024-12-14, version 3.18.0* The purpose of having a banking app is for convenience but this app fails dismally on providing that component. I always get irritated when I have to make an online payment because there’s always an issue regardless of whether it’s instant or normal once off payments. Convenience is what we need as consumers ### 2/5 — Speed and Data Connectivity *2024-12-10, version 3.18.0* The app takes time to load and can you please at least make the app to work without Data/ data-less in all telecommunication providers mode because some of us barely buy data ### 1/5 — Don’t use African Bank *2024-10-10, version 3.15.0* This is honestly the worst banking experience i’ve ever had. i was charged for my FREE card replacement, i went to the branch and filed a complaint but the ticket was said to be resolved whilst i hadn’t even received a call. i sent an email and no response. the transaction doesn’t even show up on my app so it seems as though money just disappeared into thin air. 0 stars. would not recommend ### 1/5 — This App Does Not Work At All *2024-05-31, version 3.12.1* I’ve been patient with this app from 2019 hoping it would improve it’s always a struggle to use it. Recently I upgraded to iOS and I have not been able to use this app even once it keeps saying “ We apologise, we cannot Satisfy your request at the moment” I grudgingly started using the app on my wife’s Samsung phone but she also moved to iOS and she is not unable to access the app too. If it’s not account being put on hold for no reason it’s the app never working. No one can fix this isssue. I am so determined to go close all my accounts and move to a bank who can allow me to bank with no issues. No problem because it’s 1mb which is a bargain but when I click on the update feature, nothing happens. I haven’t even fetched my card from the bank because of I opened it online and I’m already getting messages that I have a negative balance on my account because it’s overdrawn . 😖😖😖 ### 2/5 — Unable to login to the app *2024-03-03, version 3.9.0* It keeps saying my login details are incorrect even though I’ve never changed them, but I keep getting log in notifications and there’s no option to change the incorrect details if they are. Overall this app is giving me a headache. ### 1/5 — Struggling to register on the app *2024-02-28, version 3.9.0* I opened a new account at the branch, after downloading the application, I’ve tried several times to register on the App, I complete all the necessary information, but never receives the message it talks about, except the notification saying that there is an attempt to log in to my account, when I respond to the USSD, “reply with 1 or 9) it says “Processing abort” and give me a DISMISS option. This is so frustrating as I’ve also tried with many other wifi connections, but this is their own server issues, not mine, it seems. 🥴 ### 2/5 — App using data *2024-01-24, version 3.8.0* The app is okay but it needs to be updated like other banks they don’t use data to use the app or even if you log in . Lot of customers will be happy if they can add this option to the app “using the app even if you don’t have data “ ### 1/5 — Error connecting to servers *2024-01-02, version 3.8.0* Worst banking app I have ever used. I can’t complete information as every few minutes as I try proceed to the next step I keep getting an error message that there is an issue connecting to your servers. Doesn’t matter which internet connectivity I am using- ucapped unthrottled 15mbp wife, 4G etc but still no difference ### 1/5 — App not conducive *2023-08-01, version 3.7.0* The point of having a banking app is for convenience and this is the opposite. The app identifies wrong information entered yet an sms alerts you that you’re logging in. Resetting the profile is also a mission, WHY can’t we use biometrics ?to avoid visiting branches because there’s an OTP you get from the consultant. Linking devices to migrate information shouldn’t be such a hustle. African Bank could use so improvement, especially digitally ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2025-12-22, version 4.7.0* I’ve recently changed phones and I am trying to set up this app on my new phone it’s refusing to work even when I’m pressing reset as I forgot my password but it refused to work I wasn’t able to get any assistance at my local when I went to sort it out as it still didn’t work so now I’m stuck without my bank app and it’s so difficult ### 1/5 — Doesn't work on IOS *2025-12-11, version 4.7.0* It’s surprising how commercial banks have heavily invested in the digital space, yet African Bank seems to see it as unnecessary. You can’t tell me that for over three years, they haven't been able to fix issues with the app—such as it not working on iPhones or being unable to sign in. It's frustrating how the bank doesn’t seem to listen to our feedback. ### 1/5 — Worst banking app ever *2025-12-09, version 4.7.0* This app is really bad it needs more work, every time there is an update it ruins something else. Right now you cannot transfer money from your savings to your cheque account and vice versa. And the bank says that the IT department is still working on it but it’s weeks. It keep saying “we are unable to satisfy this request at the moment” every single time I try. This happened to me last year when I changed my phone and tried to log in and I even went to the African branch thinking maybe I have the wrong credentials. Again this year when I even saved the login credentials. No! This app is absolute trash🚮 ### 1/5 — The worst banking app ever. *2025-03-27, version 4.0.0* I beg you. Please don’t open a banking account with this bank because this app is just horrible. I have to go into the bank on a monthly basis because of a new problem everytime. This app is not user friendly and logging In is a nightmare. At this point I just want to close my account with them and go somewhere else. This is a highly disappointed customer after I had so much faith In the bank and what it stood for. This app just has too many issue and that had lead me just use other banks and never consider this as a main bank. Create a tab for “Offfers” and put all the other other products that I don’t have (draft, investment, loan, credit card and insurance) in there instead of having links on MyAccounts, it’s distracting and untidy.
