## What is Afterglow?

Afterglow is your private, elegant diary for your closest moments, built from the ground up to stay on your device and yours alone.

Log what matters to you, track your patterns, and discover insights about your own rhythm, all wrapped in a beautiful, discreet design.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything stays on your device. No account, no sign-in, no server.
• We never collect or transmit your data. There is nothing to leak.
• Protect the app with Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode.
• Photos and videos are stored in an encrypted vault.

LOG IT YOUR WAY
• Record each entry with the detail you want: partners, places, mood and more.
• Keep private partner profiles.
• Attach your own photos and videos, safely encrypted.

SEE YOUR STORY
• Rich insights and stats reveal your habits and highlights.
• A personal calendar of everything you log.
• A world map that collects the places you have been.

STAY MOTIVATED
• Hundreds of playful achievements to unlock.
• Earn XP and climb the ranks as you go.
• A wishlist and a daily prompt for fresh ideas.

APPLE HEALTH (OPTIONAL)
• Off by default. If you turn it on, entries are added to Apple Health.
• Afterglow only ever writes to Health, never reads.

BACKUPS YOU CONTROL
• Export an encrypted backup whenever you like. You decide where it goes.

Afterglow is made for adults who want a gorgeous, honest and completely private place to remember their personal life.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-08

Logging is quicker: only the activity and who you were with are required now, and how you felt sits right there instead of behind a second tap.

Insights are reorganised so every figure appears once, with a new breakdown of your solo entries. Average duration is now Typical Time, a median that one long night cannot skew.

Every activity now explains itself, and the search understands those descriptions too.

Plus consistent screen titles, tidier settings, and a noticeably lighter app while you scroll.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-31

Your streak survives the weekend
A fresh week no longer resets the flame to zero. Your run stays on screen as a banked ember until a whole week actually goes by without an entry, on the home screen widget too.

Archive people instead of deleting them
Someone no longer in the picture can be archived: they leave the entry screen and your list, while every entry and statistic they were part of stays untouched. Each partner row now shows when you last logged something together, and deleting asks first.

Optional check-up reminder
Afterglow already kept your test history. Now it can tell you once your latest test reaches three, six or twelve months. Off by default, and the notification says nothing more than that a check-up is due.

Numbers that describe your everyday
Average duration is now Typical Time, a median, so a single long night can no longer drag the figure above almost everything you log.

Polish and fixes
Empty slots in your recap say what they mean instead of showing a stray dot, dates and names read in one language throughout, text follows your chosen size in more places, and the spreadsheet export no longer leaves two fields behind.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-29

Insights now split solo and partner
A new switch at the top of Insights filters your stats by Everything, Partner or Solo, and every card below recalculates.

Hundreds of new options to log
The pickers for activities, accessories, categories and places have all grown, so there is far more to choose from.

Recent places
The location search now opens on the spots you already use, like a sat nav.

New achievements
A Prestige tier that follows your XP, and collection badges that unlock at 80 percent of a list instead of demanding all of it.

Polish and fixes
A detail view for your mood ratings, the correct Apple Health status when permission is denied, steadier lists while you scroll, a redesigned health test entry, and a smoother guided tour.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-05

Polish and fixes:
• The guided tour now highlights things cleanly on every screen size
• Fixed two blank spots in the icon picker and added over 70 new icons to choose from
• The keyboard no longer pops up uninvited when adding a custom option, and taps outside now dismiss it
• Settings and customise buttons moved to a more comfortable spot on Insights and Profile
